Abstract

Abstract

This study examines the impact of fiscal decentralization on local economic capacity and the welfare of the people of Bengkulu over the past two decades. Bengkulu was chosen as a case study because it has the second highest poverty rate in Sumatra Island. The study uses time series data obtained from various secondary sources, such as the human development index, poverty reports, DAU, and provincial economic development reports. This study uses a partial least squares structural equation model (PLS-SEM) using SmartPLS 3 software to analyze the data. This study has three main variables: community welfare (Y), economic capacity (M), and fiscal decentralization (X). The results of this study show that fiscal decentralization has an indirect effect on community welfare but a direct effect through economic capacity.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the impact of exports, imports, inflation, and exchange rates on economic growth in Indonesia during the period 1993-2022. The analytical method employed is multiple regression analysis. The findings of this research indicate that the variables of imports and exchange rates have a significant positive influence on economic growth. Meanwhile, export variables have a significant negative effect on economic growth. Variable inflation does not have a significant effect on economic growth. So the country needs to develop various types of products that can meet global market demand while looking for opportunities in new markets abroad. And focus on improving the quality and innovation of export products to be essential. This helps ensure that exported products meet high international standards remain competitive in the global market and can boost Indonesia's economic growth. Meanwhile, the government should have the capacity to uphold the level of inflation stability so that it is not higher and causes economic growth to rise.

Abstract

The Covid-19 case has major impact on Indonesia people, especially on health and economy. Increasing in Covid-19 cases in Bengkulu shows that prevention of Covid-19 is still not optimal. Family medicinal plants (toga) can be an alternative treatment to prevent the spread of Covid-19. This is because toga can increase the body's immunity such as consumption of herbs, herbal medicines and others. However, cultivation and efforts to provide toga in Bengkulu have not been maximized. The purpose of this service activity is to encourage public awareness to develop household toga cultivation as an immunity drug to prevent the spread of Covid-19. The results show that the community is aware of the importance of planting toga in the household environment.

Abstract

The issue of foreign debt as a source of development financing (budget deficit) has become a classic debate, both at the theoretical and practical levels. However, foreign debt will become a problem if the debt is not managed properly. This study aims to determine the effect of exports, foreign exchange reserves, and exchange rates on foreign debt in Indonesia. The novelty of this research is that the population in this study is the entire time series data of foreign debt, exports, foreign exchange reserves, and the exchange rate of the rupiah against the US dollar. The future impact of this study is to help improve public understanding of the urgency of the determinants and influence of foreign debt in Indonesia for the government. This research is a type of quantitative descriptive research. The type of data used is data sourced from secondary data in the form of cross-section covering the country of Indonesia and time series with a period of 30 years so that there are 31 samples that are quantitative. The research was conducted by means of library research. Data collection techniques are carried out by studying books that are relevant to the object of research or other sources that support library study research conducted by researchers in conducting library studies. Based on the regression result, it can be concluded that there is a simultaneous significant effect of the independent variables in the form of Exports, Foreign Exchange Reserves, and the Rupiah Exchange Rate against the USD on the Foreign Debt with an R-Squared value of 92.11 percent. Then, based on the partial Test, export has a negative and significant effect on the foreign debt. Meanwhile, each foreign exchange reserve and Rupiah exchange rate have a positive and significant effect on the Foreign Debt. The policy implications of these findings can include government efforts in the hope of finding other alternatives to increase Indonesian state development funds other than relying on foreign debt. For example, it can be done by increasing export activities abroad and reducing import activities. Furthermore, maintaining the stability of the exchange rate so that it does not weaken further because it can result in a decrease in the value of the US dollar, making foreign debt in Indonesia increasingly accumulate.

Abstract

This research examines the economic factors that drive fluctuations in Indonesia’s foreign exchange reserves, concentrating on external debt, global trade activities (exports and imports), and the exchange rate of the Rupiah against the US Dollar. By utilizing secondary data obtained from the World Bank, the research applies multiple linear regression analysis through EViews 12 to assess the influence of these critical variables on foreign exchange reserves. The findings reveal a significant correlation between external debt, exports, and imports with changes in foreign exchange reserves, whereas the exchange rate shows no notable influence. The regression model accounts for 95.81% of the variation in Indonesia’s foreign exchange reserves, underscoring external debt, exports, and imports as pivotal factors, while the exchange rate plays a relatively minor role. These insights are crucial for policymakers aiming to ensure economic stability.

Abstract

Disparities is one of the problems of economic development in developing countries. The Western Region of Indonesia tends to contribute to high economic growth but is accompanied by the problem of regional disparities which is also relatively high. Efforts to reduce regional disparities are aimed at accelerating equitable development. This study examines the development of inter-regional disparities mapping through the Klassen typology method, measuring disparities with the Williamson index in the Western Region of Indonesia in 2021-2023. The results show that most regions are still in the relatively underdeveloped and less developed category and the average regional disparities index is at moderate disparities, namely 0.465. This study provides suggestions to prioritize development based on regional equality, especially areas that are still underdeveloped.
