Abstract

This research aim to know the transformation of microstructure and it influence to ST 60 when its heated by heat treatment process. Specimen heated and arrested at temperature 800°C during 30 minutes, then is cooled with water coolant. Hardness of test piece is measured [by] before and after heat treatment by using method Rockwell C. Microstructure of metal photograph take by using special camera, and it presenting in millimeter block to calculate ferrite and pearlite content percentage. Result of research indicates that heat treatment to metal ST 60 causing microstructure change and percentage of ferrite was increase, directly causes material hardness value  increase too.

Abstract

Double acting cylinders in its application are widely used in the industry and are often applied in maintenance or repair instruments. The purpose of this research is to design and make a double acting cylinder so that the movement of the hydraulic cylinder its fluid flow can be seen clearly and easily implemented in the movement process, especially in the learning process. The research employs experimental method by directly design a transparent double acting cylinder. This transparent double acting cylinder will later be applied to the hydraulic trainer. The steps taken were determining the transparent material, making material samples for tensile tests, designing and making hydraulic cylinders, conducting hydraulic cylinder tests using Autodesk Inventor 2019. From the test results of hydraulic cylinders made from acrylic using Autodesk Inventor 2019, the minimum pressure that occurs is 1,456 MPa and the maximum pressure that occurs is 6,573 MPa, in operation, the recommended pressure 1,456 to 5,551 MPa, double acting transparent cylinder which has a transparent hydraulic cylinder length of 250 mm, thickness 11.4 mm, hydraulic cylinder inner diameter 32 mm, hydraulic cylinder locking uses 4 bolts with size M8, design pressure 23 kg/cm².Keywords: hydraulic system, double acting cylinder, transparent.

Abstract

Salah satu kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat adalah menyebarluaskan ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi ke masyarakat. Tujuan dari kegiatan pengabdian pada masyarakat ini adalah penerapan mekanisasi peralatan, berupa penghancuran sampah organik dengan waktu yang singkat sehingga proses pembuatan pupuk organik akan semakin cepat. Metode yang digunakan adalah dengan merancang dan membuat mesin penghancur sampah organik serta melakukan implementasi kegiatan berupa pelatihan pengoperasian dan perawatan mesin penghancur sampah organik. Mesin penghancur sampah organik yang dibuat memiliki dimensi panjang 100 cm, lebar 60 cm dan tinggi 160 cm. Menggunakan mesin diesel sebagai penggerak dengan daya 7,5 HP, pada mekanisme penghancur tabung penghancur berdiameter 40 cm, terdiri dari 8 pisau tetap dan 24 pisau berputar. Transmisi daya menggunakan pulley berdiameter 4 inchi dengan menggunakan sabuk tipe B30 panjang sabuk 30 inchi. Dari hasil pengujian, kapasitas mesin penghancur sampah organik adalah 75 kg/jam.

Abstract

Simulator sistem hidrolik atau yang lebih dikenal dengan hydraulic training unit merupakan alat pembelajaran yang digunakan untuk memahami sistem hidrolik. Pada hydraulic training unit terdapat tiga jenis katup pembatas tekanan yaitu; relief valve, flow control valve dan shut off valve. Tujuan riset ini yakni untuk mendapatkan energi listrik yang optimal pada rangkaian sistem hidrolik dengan mengatur pembukaan katup pembatas tekanan. Metode yang digunakan adalah dengan melakukan pengukuran tegangan, arus dan faktor daya yang terjadi pada masing-masing pembukaan katup pembatas tekanan. Menghitung daya listrik serta menghitung daya mekanik dari rangkaian sistem hidrolik. Melakukan optimisasi menggunuakan linier programing dan di uji menggunakan software Lindo.. Hasil yang diperoleh, pada rangkaian silinder hidrolik, pembukaan ¼ relief valve merupakan pembukaan optimal, energi listrik yang terjadi 390,6 Watt Jam. Pembukaan ¼ flow control valve merupakan pembukaan optimal, energi listrik yang terjadi 390,68 Watt Jam. Pembukaan ¼ shut off valve merupakan pembukaan optimal, energi listrik yang terjadi 390,68 Watt Jam.

Abstract

Pondok pesantren Al Mas’udiyah Kabupaten Kuburaya Kalimantan Barat, saat ini memiliki usaha budidaya ikan lele sebagai usaha mandiri untuk memenuhi kebutuhan sehari-hari. Selama ini untuk pengisian dan sirkulasi air pada kolam budidaya menggunakan pompa air yang bersumber listrik pada PLN sehingga menambah biaya pengeluaran untuk operasional. Tujuan dari pengabdian kepada masyarakat yang dilakukan adalah merencanakan dan mengaplikasikan Sistem kelistrikan DC memanfaatkan sinar matahari dengan membangun pembangkit listrik tenaga surya. Dengan harapan penggunaan sistem DC tenaga surya dapat mengurangi beban biaya listrik Pondok pesantren. Metode yang diterapkan adalah membangun pembangkit listrik tenaga surya (PLTS) pada budidaya ikan lele. Hasil yang diperoleh, terbangun PLTS yang terdiri dari 2 solar cell 100 WP, pompa air DC 180W, 3 buah lampu DC 10W, baterai 12V 50Ah

Abstract

Wind turbines are one of the machines that are currently still used to convert wind kinetic energy so that they can be used by humans such as to drive pumps in agriculture and produce electrical energy. Savonius turbine is a vertical axis turbine that is currently widely used as an electrical energy generator, this wind turbine is a type of drag type wind turbine that has a simple design that is in the form of a semicircular curved blade side. Therefore, the author is interested in researching the resulting performance including turbine rotational speed, power generated, and wind turbine efficiency against the variation of the blade radius. The method used is experimental, the stages of this research are in the form of literature studies, making savonius turbines, testing savonius turbines with variations in blade radius as well as data retrieval, data processing, and analysis. Based on the data obtained, the rotating speed of the turbine is influenced by variations in the radius of the blade. The larger the blade radius, the smaller the turbine rotational speed. The maximum turbine rotation speed at blade radius 63 is 173 rpm, while at blade radius, 88 is 118 rpm and at blade radius 113 is 115 rpm. So the highest turbine rotating speed at a radius of 63.

Abstract

In this work, we propose the use of a low-cost PV monitoring system for providing accurate and comprehensive data required in the development of efficient and reliable solar PV plants. The system is developed based on an open-source Arduino platform with the capability to monitor solar irradiance, and electric outputs and temperature of multiple solar panels, which should enable the accurate assessment of solar energy resource, as well as electrical energy produced by PV plant under real operating conditions. To demonstrate its applicability, the system has been installed at the campus of Politeknik Negeri Pontianak in Pontianak City, and the data collected by the system is used to assess solar energy resource at the location. Data collected by the system from August 2020 to September 2021 shows that the values of solar irradiation are in the range of 2.9–4.1 kWh/m2 per day, and electric energy produced by commercial solar panels are in the range of 0.30–0.46 kWh/m2 per day, correspond to the monthly averaged efficiencies of 8–13%. The values of solar irradiation are 15–40 % lower than those obtained from the space-averaged satellite data which are in the range of 4.1–5.8 kWh/m2 per day. This shows the significant effects of local conditions, and confirms the advantage of assessment using the low-cost monitoring system that directly accounts for the effects of local conditions without the need of simulation using complex model and sophisticated software that required in the assessment using satellite-derived data.

Abstract

Pengeringan menggunakan oven dilakukan untuk supaya lada lebih bersih dari kotoran serta efisien terhadap waktu terhadap pengeringan lada, Proses pengeringan dari biji lada ini masih dilakukan dengan mengandalkan sinar matahari, dimana jika kondisi cuaca hujan akan sangat memperlambat pengeringan. Untuk itu dibutuhkan oven sebagai alat untuk pengering biji lada, agar tidak terlalu bergantung dengan kondisi cuaca. Sistem pemanas oven ini menggunakan gas LPG, hygrometer yang digunakan untuk mengukur suhu serta kelembaban dan thermostat untuk mengatur suhu ruangan didalam oven, juga di lengkapi dengan pemantik api otomatis supaya mempermudah dalam menghidupkan api didalam oven. Pengeringan lada yang telah diuji mulai dari 50?C, 60?C, 70?C, 80°C dan 90?C semua kering dengan waktu terlama 99 menit dan waktu tercepat 15 menit.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of social intelligence on the social adjustment of final-year students of the D4 Mechanical Engineering Program at the Pontianak State Polytechnic. The hypothesis in this study is that there is a significant effect between social intelligence and social adjustment of final-year students. Respondents in this study were 49 final-year students of the D4 Mechanical Engineering Study Program at the Pontianak State Polytechnic. The data collection tool uses a social adjustment scale and a social intelligence scale—data analysis using a simple linear regression technique with the help of SPSS 22.00 for the Windows program. The results of this study indicate that there is a very significant positive effect between social adjustment and social intelligence, which has a correlation coefficient (r) = 0.851 and p = 0.00 (p < 0.001). The higher the level of social intelligence, the higher the social adjustment of final-year students. On the other hand, the lower the level of social intelligence, the lower the social adjustment. Social intelligence affects social adjustment by (r2) = 72.5%.
