Abstract

Abstract. The research aims to know the process and result of development of mathematics learning materials based on realistic mathemathics education for circle topic. Learning materialsdevelopment model refers to 4D Thiagarajanmodels which has 4 steps namely define, design, develop, and disseminate. The subject of research is students of VIII-A class SMPN 2 Wuluhan in even semester academic year 2013-2014.The data of research are obtained by validation sheet, observation sheet of teacher and students activities, questionnaire, and evaluation test. Theproducts of this research are lesson plan, student handbook, worksheet, and evaluation test.The result shows that the learning materialsqualifies validity, practical, and effective criteria.Based on validation process and tryout, the result shows that the coefficient of validity reachs 3 point, the percentages of teacher’s activities, students’ activities, and students’ responses are above 80%, it can be concluded that the learning instruments had fullfiledthe validity, practice, and effective criteria. Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menghasilkan indikator 4C’s yang selaras dengan kurikulum SMA/MA yang digunakan di Indonesia yaitu kurikulum 2013 pada mata pelajaran matematika SMA kelas X semester 1 yang terdiri dari 3 bab yaitu: sistem persamaan dan pertidaksamaan linier satu variabel yang memuat nilai mutlak, SPLTV, dan fungsi. Kegiatan penelitian dimulai dari analisis masalah kurikulum di Indonesia dan menganalisis literatur kemampuan 4C’s menurut Partnership 21th Century Learning (P21). Kegiatan selanjutnya adalah merancang Indikator 4C,s yang selaras dengan kurikulum 2013 pada mata pelajaran matematika SMA/MA kelas X semester 1. Produk yang dihasilkan yaitu Indikator 4C’s yang selaras dengan kurikulum 2013 disajikan dalam vorum diskusi (kolokium). Kemudian produk tersebut direvisi berdasarkan saran dari peserta kolokium. Kegiatan terakhir yaitu membagikan produk yang valid kepada peserta kolokium sebagai panduan penyusunan rencana pembelajaran. Penelitian ini menghasilkan indikator 4C’s yang selaras dengan kurikulum di Indonesia yaitu kurikulum 2013.

Abstract

Abstract. This research aims to describe the profile of sudent’s creative thinking skill in solving problems of TIMSS model geometrical content. Indonesian students’ achievement in international mathematics test TIMSS were at low benchmark especially in geometrical content. The reasearch subject were 6 randomly selected students of 64 students from Grade 8A and 8B SMPN 1 Bondowoso. Methods of data collection in this research used tests and interviews. Creative thinking skill aspects are fluency, flexibilty, originality and elaboration. Based on the analysis of the data, the results show that 1 student is categorized as very creative (level 4), 3 students are creative (level 3), and 2 students are categorized as quite creative (level 2). The level 4 student (S3) achieved all aspects as well as fluency, flexibility,originality and elaboration. The student gave variation of answers and interprete problems in different prespectives although he did not often get it. The level 3 students (S1, S4, and S6) can achieve fluency, flexibility, and originality aspect. The level 2 students (S2 and S5) tend to achieve two aspects of creative thinking.   Keywords: Mathematics, TIMSS, Creative Thinking, Geometrical Content.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kesalahan yang dilakukan siswa dan faktor penyebabnya dalam menyelesaikan soal cerita. Metode yang digunakan dalam mengetahui letak kesalahan siswa adalah metode NEA. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini menggunakan tes dan wawancara. Responden dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas IV B SDN Karangrejo 02 Jember yang terdiri dari 34 orang siswa. Hasil analisis data berdasarkan NEA yang didapatkan adalah kesalahan membaca 13,3%, kesalahan memahami soal 10,89%, kesalahan transformasi 27,62%, kesalahan keterampilan proses 15,73%, dan kesalahan menulis jawaban 32,45%. Faktor penyebab dari kesalahan yang dilakukan siswa adalah minat belajar yang kurang, ketidaktelitian siswa, kurangnya penguasaan bahasa, tidak pahamnya konsep, tidak paham dalam mengoperasikan perhitungan, dan ketidakbiasaan siswa dalam menuliskan kesimpulan dan satuan pada akhir jawaban. Kesimpulan yang didapatkan adalah siswa banyak mengalami kesalahan menulis jawaban karena ketidaktelitian siswa dan tidak paham konsep.The purpose of this study is to find out the mistakes made by students and their causal factors in solving story problems. The method used to find out where the students are wrong is the NEA method. This type of research is descriptive research with a qualitative approach. Data collection in this study used tests and interviews. Respondents in this study were students of class IV B SDN Karangrejo 02 Jember consisting of 34 students. The results of data analysis based on the NEA obtained were 13.3% reading errors, 10.89% understanding errors, 27.62% transformation errors, 15.73% process skill errors, and 32.45% answer writing errors. The causes of the mistakes made by students are lack of interest in learning, inaccuracy of students, lack of mastery of language, lack of understanding of concepts, lack of understanding in operating calculations, and unfamiliarity in writing conclusions and units at the end of the answer. The conclusion is that many students experience mistakes writing answers because of students' inaccuracy and not understanding the concept.

Abstract

Kabupaten Magelang memiliki prevalensi periodontitis sebesar 60% pada tahun 2013 dan meningkat ditahun 2014 menjadi 62% dari total populasi. Puskesmas Salaman I memiliki prevalensi tertinggi kasus periodontitis sebesar 19% di Kabupaten Magelang. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi kejadian periodontitis di Puskesmas Salaman I. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah cross sectional study dengan populasi seluruh pasien yang berobat ke poli gigi Puskesmas Salaman I dan jumlah sampel yang diambil sebanyak 90 orang. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah lembar kuesioner dengan teknik wawancara. Analisis data yang digunakan adalah Chi-square dan regresi logistik. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa perilaku menyikat gigi (p=0,029), kunjungan dokter ke gigi (p=0,012), dan diabetes militus (p=0,007) berpengaruh terhadap kejadian periodontitis. Simpulan penelitian ini adalah ada pengaruh antara perilaku menyikat gigi, kunjungan ke dokter gigi dan diabetes militus dengan kejadian periodontitis di Puskesmas Salaman I, serta tidak ada pengaruh antara umur, jenis kelamin, pengetahuan, obesitas, scaling, dan merokok dengan kejadian periodontitis di Puskesmas Salaman I. Kata kunci: Faktor Risiko, Periodontitis, Diabetes mellitus Magelang District has 60% prevalence of periodontitis in 2013 and increases in 2014 up to 62% of the total population. The results showed that tooth brushing behavior (p = 0,029), dentist visitation (p = 0,012), and diabetes militus (p = 0,007) had an effect on the periodontitis occurrence. The conclusions of this research are there is an effect between tooth brushing behavior, dentist visitation, and diabetes militus towards periodontitis occurrence, also there is no effect between age, gender, obesitas, knowledge, scaling and smoking towards periodontitis occurrence in Salaman medical center. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan proses berpikir geometri siswa dalam menyelesaikan masalah luas permukaan limas dan prisma melalui tahapan Polya. Subjek penelitian ini adalah dua siswa yang berada pada level deduksi informal di SMPN 3 Jember. Siswa diberikan tes tentang luas permukaan limas dan prisma, dilanjutkan dengan wawancara. Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa proses berpikir siswa mengalami kondisi disequilbrium dan equilbrium dengan melalui asimilasi dan akomodasi dalam setiap tahap pemecahan masalah luas permukaan limas dan prisma, serta siswa juga memenuhi indikator kemampuan berpikir geometri Van Hiele pada level deduksi informal. Siswa memahami kondisi dan fakta masalah, mengidentifikasi himpunan sifat-sifat bangun yang berbeda-beda untuk mengkarakterisasi kelas dan mengaitkan antar karakteristik pembentuk konsep, menentukan rumus yang tepat dalam pemecahan masalah, dan memecahkan masalah dengan menekankan pada pentingnya sifat gambar dan relasinya.

Abstract

Students with a rigor level of geometric thinking can analytically solve problems, yet the ability may not be readily observable. Thus, an example of how students solve problems merits explorations. Inspired by student’s problem solving, this study aimed to examine the student’s anticipatory profile in determining Papaya tree roots' dimensions. This qualitative research utilized tests and interview. Two tests were carried out: van Hiele geometric level grouping test for selecting the research participants and the report-based test for the actual project. Seventeen students took the van Hiele test, and one of them, who achieved the rigor level, was selected for the interview. Data obtained from the interview were then analyzed qualitatively. The study showed that students with a rigor level of geometric thinking anticipated analytically. The subject was able to explain a geometric problem systematically, starting from analyzing problems, clarifying detailss, to presenting arguments clearly and precisely. The findings in this study generate useful information for teachers who train their students to analyze a geometric problem correctly and adequately.

Abstract

Improvement of Skills in Classroom Management for the New Mathematics Teacher in the Junior High School. This study was an effort to improve teacher's skill in classroom management. It was a two-cycle classroom action research involving the new mathematics teacher at the SLTP I Jember. Using a descriptive qualitative analysis on the results of observation and interview, it could be concluded that the new mathematics teacher's skill in creating, keeping and recovering the optimum learning condition seemed to be improved. The result suggests that this classroom action research can be used as supervision model by the school principal. When a trouble cannot be solved by the teacher, he needs to cooperate with another teacher, counselor, school principal, and the Parent Teacher Association (PTA).
