Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujan untuk (1) Mendeskripsikan proses pengembangan buku panduan guru menggunaan software GeoGebra pada materi bangun ruang di masa pandemi Covid-19; (2) Mengetahui hasil pengembangan buku panduan guru menggunakan software GeoGebra pada materi bangun ruang di masa pandemi Covid-19. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian dan pengembangan. Model pengembangan yang dipilih adalah 4-D yang meliputi empat tahapan yaitu pendefinisian, perancangan, pengembangan, dan penyebaran. Subjek penelitian ini terdiri dari 4 guru matematika SMP Negeri 1 Prajekan. Metode pengumpulan data terdiri dari lembar validasi, lembar angket, pedoman wawancara, dan lembar observasi aktivitas guru. Metode analisis data dilakukan melalui uji kevalidan, uji kepraktisan, dan uji keefektifan. Hasil pengembangan buku panduan guru pada penelitian ini yaitu uji kevalidan menunjukkan bahwa produk telah valid dengan kategori sangat tinggi, uji kepraktisan produk juga menunjukkan bahwa produk dapat dikatakan praktis dengan kategori baik, dan uji keefektifan produk menunjukkan kategori baik sehingga produk juga telah efektif. Kesimpulannya produk buku panduan software geogebra pada materi bangun ruang dapat digunakan oleh guru untuk bisa membantu dan mendukung kegiatan mengajar disekolah terutama dimasa pandemi Covid-19

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui ada tidaknya pengaruh yang signifikan penerapan fase pembelajaran van Hiele pada bahasan sifat-sifat segiempat terhadap tingkat berpikir geometri siswa. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimen. Populasi penelitian ini adalahh siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 1 Kencong yang kemudian diambil sampel yaitu kelas XI MIPA 1 berjumlah 33 siswa sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas XI MIPA 2 berjumlah 33 siswa sebagai kelas kontrol. Data hasil pengerjaan Van Hiele Geometry Test (VHGT) diambil sebagai pretest dan posttest yang kemudian dianalisis dengan menggunakan uji-t melalui bantuan software SPSS. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara kelompok siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran dengan penerapan teori van Hiele dibandingkan dengan kelompok siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran dengan metode konvensional (thitung = 2,067 > ttabel = 1,997). Hal tersebut diperkuat dengan hasil analisis terhadap level berpikir geometri siswa yang menunjukkan bahwa 48,48% siswa pada kelas eksperimen mengalami peningkatan level berpikir geometri, sedangkan pada kelas kontrol hanya 18,18% yang mengalami peningkatan level berpikir geometri. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini, dapat disimpulkan bahwa fase-fase pembelajaran van Hiele dapat diterapkan sebagai alternatif metode pembelajaran geometri di dalam kelas yang secara signifikan berpengaruhh terhadap tingkat berpikir geometri siswa.

Abstract

Crane hook strength analysis is an effort to minimize accidents and work failures when used in moving goods that tend to have heavy loads. Apart from that, the analysis is also used as a benchmark for the crane hook safety level which can be identified through the accompanying structures. This study aims to determine the strength of the crane hook with various geometric shapes and sizes, namely the ST E 355 crane hook with the DIN 15401 standard, hereinafter referred to as the original size and half of the original size. The strength in question consists of deformation, stress and safety factor. This research begins with the design process using an autodesk inventor, then proceeds to the simulation and analysis process through ANSYS. The results obtained are the crane hook with the original size has the best strength. This is indicated by a small deformation with a value of 0.82214 mm, a low stress value of 264.14 Mpa, and a high safety factor with a value of 2.668903.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan profil matakognisi siswa SMP kelas VIII dalam menyelesaikan soal cerita pada materi sistem persamaan linear dua variabel ditinjau dari kemampuan matematika dan gender. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari enam siswa, dan data penelitian yang dikumpulkan berupa hasil tes kemampuan matematika, hasil tes soal cerita,  dan hasil wawancara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan siswa perempuan dan siswa laki-laki berkemampuan matematika tinggi mampu melakukan kegiatan perencanaan, pemantauan, dan evaluasi dengan lengkap. Siswa perempuan dan siswa laki-laki berkemampuan sedang melakukan kegiatan perencanaan dan pemantauan tetapi kurang lengkap namun lengkap dalam kegiatan evaluasi. Siswa perempuan berkemampuan matematika rendah melakukan kegiatan perencanaan, pemantauan dan evaluasi namun kurang lengkap. Siswa laki-laki berkemampuan matematika rendah melakukan kegiatan perencanaan dengan lengkap namun tidak melakukan kegiatan pemantauan dan evaluasi dengan lengkap.

Abstract

Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) is an ability that can create students in critical and creative individuals. The ways that can be used to reveal students' high-level thinking skills by using contextual problems in learning. The purpose of this study was to describe the profile of high order thinking of 8th-grade students in solving contextual problems regarding slerek boat. This research is a type of descriptive research with a qualitative approach. The research subjects were 8thH grade students of  SMPN 1 Muncar, which amounted to 28 students. Data retrieval using test questions and interview activities. From the results of data collection, the results show that the ability of 8thH grade students tends to be able to solve questions at the evaluation level. This can be seen from the results of the test questions where there is 1 student who can solve the question of creation level (C6), 22 students can solve the question of the level of evaluation (C5) and 5 students can solve the level of analysis (C4). Based on the results of interviews, students who can solve the question level C5 have good ability in analyzing problems can explain the settlement process both orally and in writing, besides that it’s also able to make a hypothesis and test the hypothesis made previously

Abstract

Teaching approach applied by mathematics teacher can affect students' mathematical connection ability (MCA). The fact shows that there are still many teachers using conventional learning, causing passive students and low MCA among students. The purpose of this study was to describe the effectiveness of applying a collaborative realistic mathematics education (RME) approach using the classroom and the outdoor environment to improve students' MCA on the topic of similar triangles. This quasi-experimental research with a qualitative descriptive approach took the subject of ninth-grade students at a public junior high school in Jember, Indonesia. Data were collected using observation sheets, questionnaires, tests, and interviews. The data were analyzed using the effectiveness test (N-gain score). The results showed that the application of collaborative RME using the indoor and outdoor classrooms made students more active in physical, social, and mental activities. This learning is effective in improving students' MCA. The average score of 57.47 in the pre-test increased to 93.88 in the post-test, and the N-gain score was 0.86. Mathematics teachers are advised to apply this learning approach, not only on the topic of similarity triangles, but also on other suitable topics.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the types of errors made by students in solving curved face three-dimensional problems based on Kastolan’s stages reviewed from field-dependent and field-independent cognitive styles. This study uses descriptive research with a qualitative approach. The subjects in this study were 4 students of class IX A SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Jember who had completed the cognitive style test and soblukan ethno mathematical story questions, then continued with interviews to obtain more in-depth information. The subject was chosen based on the work of students who made the most mistakes according to the Kastolan error stage indicator. The results obtained in this study are field-dependent students mostly make conceptual, procedural, and technical errors. The form of conceptual error experienced was that students misinterpreted the problem in the form of pictures, students did not conceptualize the height of the cone, and students misinterpreted the shape of the cylinder. The form of procedural error experienced was wrong in determining the formula and students were wrong in determining the surface area of ​​the soblukan’s lid. The form of technical error experienced, students were wrong in doing calculations. The field-independent students made more technical errors. The form of technical error is that students are wrong in doing calculations. Through this research, it is expected that teachers can design learning to minimize student errors in solving problems by looking at the types of errors that have the most.

Abstract

Ethnomatematics as link between culture and mathematics is a multicultural mathematical activity that uses culture in making connections with mathematics topics so as to motivate students to preserve their own culture while learning mathematics. The purpose of this reasearch are to explore ethnomathematics in Gajah Oling’s batik based on geometric concepts. The type of reaserch is qualitative with an ethnographic approach. Data collection methods used are observation and interviews. The subject of this reasearch is a design maker Gajah Oling’s batik. This research focuses on intersesting discovery from the exploration results, that is making pattern of Gajah Oling’s batik shirt. In the process of making pattern of Gajah Oling’s shirt, ethnomathematics seen on design and measuring activities. In desiging activities geometric concepts such as translation and reflection emerge, while in measuring activities, design makers use mathematics to determine the design size so that the fabric meeded to make a shirt can be minimized as little as possible.Keywords: Ethnomatematics, cocoa farmers, culture.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the profile of algebraic thinking in junior high school students in solving mathematical problems in terms of cognitive style (reflective and impulsive). The subjects used were class VIII B Arjasa 1 Junior High School as many as 25 children. Data collection in this study used two test questions, namely the MFFT test (Matching Familiar Figure Test), algebra test and interviews with four students representing different cognitive styles (reflective and impulsive) . In this study students who have reflective cognitive style and students who have impulsive cognitive style can fulfill five indicators of algebraic thinking, namely generalization, abstraction, analytical thinking, dynamic thinking, and modeling.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan siswa dalam memecahkan masalah materi barisan dan deret aritmetika berdasarkan tahapan IDEAL problem solving. Tahapan IDEAL problem solving terdiri dari 5 tahap yaitu I-Identify problem (mengidentifikasi masalah), D-Define goal (menentukan tujuan), E-Explore possible strategies (menggali strategi), A-Anticipate outcome and act (melaksanakan strategi), dan L-Look back and learn (mengkaji kembali dan melakukan evaluasi/belajar). Jenis penelitian adalah deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Metode pengumpulan data penelitian menggunakan tes dan wawancara. Subjek penelitian sebanyak 5 siswa kelas XII MIPA 2. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, SA dalam memecahkan masalah materi barisan dan deret aritmetika tidak mampu memenuhi semua tahap IDEAL. SB mampu memenuhi 2 tahap yaitu identify problem dan define goal. SC mampu memenuhi 3 tahap yaitu identify problem, define goal, explore possible strategies. SD mampu memenuhi 4 tahap yaitu identify problem, define goal, explore possible strategies, dan anticipate outcome and act. SE mampu memenuhi 5 tahap IDEAL problem solving.
