Abstract

The purpose of the service activities carried out by the service team is to provide training socialization to PKK Gampong Sungai Pauh Pusaka mothers, West Langsa District, Langsa City to make dish soap using mixing tool technology. This activity will later be beneficial for the PKK Gampong Sungai Pauh Pusaka group. This activity is also expected to be able to create business opportunities for PKK members and the community. Activities are carried out through 5 (five) stages which include (1) Survey; (2) delivery of mixing equipment; (3) Making dish soap and (4) Product packaging; (5) Monitoring and Evaluation. The training in making dish soap improved the skills of PKK women in producing lots and quality of dish soap using mixing equipment technology. The results of the evaluation and monitoring show that this service activity shows that the PKK group continues the production of dish soap as an effort to earn the group's business and is used for daily needs.

Abstract

Computational chemistry is a branch of chemistry which is the theoretical translated into computer programs to calculate the properties of molecules and their changes. This study analyzes the need of computational-based chemistry practicum in the Basic Chemistry course at the Chemistry Education Study Program at Samudra University. This study was done by survey technique. Aspects analyzed in this study include: module analysis through a review of the Basic Chemistry practicum module used by the Chemistry Education study program, needs analysis through students' perceptions that has been carried out, and literatures analysis through computational studies for Basic Chemistry that have been developed. Basic Chemistry practicum implemented in Chemistry Education is a verification practicum (conventional), and it is necessary to implement a practicum that gives more freedom to students in exploring. Basic chemistry practicum in Chemistry Education is also not based on computational, so it is necessary to develop basic chemistry practicum activities that provide computational problem solving

Abstract

his study aimed to determine the potential toxicity of the ethanol extract of typical Acehnese plants to shrimp larvae (Artemia salina  Leach) using the Brine Shrimp Lethality Test (BSLT) method as indicated by the LC50 value. This study used 1,080 shrimp larvae divided into four groups (three groups of extract concentration series and one negative control group). Each group consists of 15 larvae with three repetitions (triple) of treatment. The four treatment groups were given the suspension of ethanol extract of Cananga flower and leaf extract (Cananga odorata), jeumpa flower and leaf (Michelia alba), and Tanjung flower and leaf (Mimusops elengi) with concentrations of 1000 ppm, 100 ppm, and 10 ppm. The mortality data of shrimp larvae were analyzed by probit analysis to determine the LC50 value. The result of this research is that the ethanol extract of the Cananga flower and leaf (Cananga odorata) has LC50 values of 55.71 ppm and 79.43 ppm, respectively. The ethanol extract of the jeumpa flower and leaf (Michelia alba) had LC50 values of 831.76 ppm and 398.10 ppm, respectively. The ethanol extract of the Tanjung flower and leaf (Mimusops elengi) had LC50 values of 295.12 ppm and 77.67 ppm, respectively.

Abstract

ABSTRACTAceh Tamiang Regency is one of the districts in Aceh Province that was affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. The data shows that there are residents of Aceh Tamiang Regency who have been positively infected with this virus. Therefore, one way to prevent the spread of Covid-19 is by washing your hands using running water and soap. The purpose of this activity is to provide outreach to PKK members in Matang Teupah Village, Aceh Tamiang to prevent the spread of Covid-19. Activities carried out by providing training in making liquid hand washing soap for the community, especially members of the PKK Bina Mufakat. It is hoped that from this activity, members of the PKK Bina Mufakata Matang Teupah Village can become village representatives to socialize ways to prevent the spread of Covid-19 to the surrounding community. This activity is also expected to be able to create business opportunities for PKK members and the community. Activities are carried out in 6 (six) stages which include (1) Survey; (2) Identification of potential beneficiaries; (3) Soap Making Test and Organoleptic Test (4) Socialization; (5) Soap Making skills training; (6) Monitoring and Evaluation. This hand-washing soap making training has improved the skills of the community, especially participants in activities amid the Covid-19 pandemic. The results of the evaluation and monitoring show that members of the PKK Bina Mufakat have contributed to socializing healthy living by diligently washing their hands with soap as an effort to prevent Covid-19 from themselves, their families, and the community.Keywords: Training, Liquid Hand Soap, Covid-19ABSTRAKKabupaten Aceh Tamiang merupakan salah satu kabupaten yang berada di Provinsi Aceh yang terkena dampak wabah Covid-19. Data menunjukan bahwa ada warga Kabupaten Aceh Tamiang yang telah positif terinfeksi virus ini. Maka dari itu, salah satu yaitu dengan mencuci tangan menggunakan air mengalir dan sabun. Tujuan kegiatan ini yaitu memberikan sosialisasi kepada ibu-ibu PKK yang di Desa Matang Teupah Kecamatan Bendahara Aceh Tamiang untuk mencegah penyebaran Covid-19. Kegiatan dilakukan dengan memberikan pelatihan pembuatan sabun cuci tangan cair bagi masyarakat khususnya Ibu-ibu PKK Bina Mufakat. Diharapkan dari kegiatan ini, Ibu-Ibu PKK Bina Mufakata Desa Matang Teupah dapat menjadi perwakilan desa untuk mensosialisasikan cara pencegahan penyebaran Covid-19 ke masyarakat sekitar. Kegiatan ini juga diharapkan mampu menciptakan peluang usaha bagi anggota ibu-ibu PKK maupun masyarakat. Kegiatan dilakukan melalui 6 (enam) tahapan yang meliputi (1) Survey; (2) Identifikasi calon penerima manfaat; (3) Uji Pembuatan Sabun dan Uji Organoleptik (4) Sosialisasi; (5)Pelatihan keterampilan Pembuatan Sabun; (6) Monotoring dan Evaluasi. Pelatihan pembuatan sabun cuci tangan ini telah meningkatkan keterampilan masyarakat khususnya peserta kegiatan ditengah pandemi Covid-19. Hasil evaluasi dan monitoring menunjukkan Ibu-ibu PKK Bina Mufakat telah berkontribusi melakukan sosialisasi hidup sehat dengan rajin mencuci tangan dengan sabun sebagai upaya pencegahan Covid-19 baik dari diri sendiri, keluarga, dan masyarakat. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the increase in students' scientific literacy by implementation of case method learning. This is a quasi-experimental research using a one group pretest-posttest design. The research sample is the first semester students of the Chemistry Education Department at Universitas Samudra in the odd semester of the 2022/2023 academic year. This research consists of four stages, namely material analysis, development of tools and instruments, implementation, and data analysis. The scientific literacy test instrument was used to measure students' scientific literacy. Students' scientific literacy skills are presented according to content, science process, and context aspects. The increase in students' scientific literacy skills was analyzed based on the N-gain and paired sample t test. The results of the study found that students' scientific literacy skills in all content, science process, and contexts, were higher in the posttest than the pretest except for content energy that accompanies changes in material and context of natural resources. The average scientific literacy ability of students at the posttest (74.33) was higher than at the pretest (57.08). The N-gain value of 0.40 indicates an increase in students' scientific literacy skills with implementation of case method learning in the medium category. Analysis with paired sample t test indicates a significant difference in the pretest and posttest scores. Thus, it can be concluded that case method learning can improve students' scientific literacy skills in the three domains of scientific literacy.

Abstract

The cytotoxicity of fishes resulting from the presence of various industrial dyes in industrial effluents is a significant global concern. This study aims to synthesize Reduced Graphene Oxide (RGO) using a natural reducing agent from lime juice. The synthesis process uses a modified Hummer method. The Langmuir and Freundlich Isothermal equations are used to study the adsorption character of MG using RGO. The adsorption kinetics was studied using first and second order equations. The adsorption capacity was measured with concentration 2, 10, 50, and 100 mg L-1 of MG respectively. The results obtained are for the adsorption isotherms following Langmuir and Freundlich. ΔG° shows a negative value which means the adsorption process is spontaneous. The adsorption kinetics follows the first order equation. The adsorption capacity obtained was Qm = 223.21 mg g−1 and a contact time of 20 minutes which made it a strong adsorbent for removing MG from water samples. The removal efficiency of MG by prepared adsorbents from real environmental water sample on the Ulee Lheue beach, Alue Naga beach, and the Krueng Aceh river has been implemented. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan miskonsepsi siswa pada penggunaan media pembelajaran interaktif berbasis Microsoft Excel pada materi titrasi asam basa di SMAN 2 Banda Aceh. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimen dengan Desain penelitian One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan instrumen soal tes, angket dan wawancara. Data hasil penelitian dianalisis secara deskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan siswa SMAN 2 Banda Aceh mengalami miskonsepsi pada materi titrasi asam basa, terutama pada konsep menentukan kadar zat melalui titrasi. Penggunaan media pembelajaran interaktif berbasis Microsoft Excel dapat mengurangi kuantitas miskonsepsi siswa SMAN 2 Banda Aceh pada materi titrasi asam basa, yaitu 34,3% sebelum pembelajaran, menjadi 10,3% setelah pembelajaran menggunakan media pembelajaran interaktif berbasis Microsoft Excel.

Abstract

Indonesia is one of the positive countries for the corona virus (Covid-19). Experts cite several reasons for the increasing number of cases, one of which is the attitude of the public who careless about minimizing contact between people, the lack of sanctions for violations of self-quarantine, and the lack of location information that the community must avoid. The attitude of caring society, especially education actors, is certainly one of the important things that needs attention. Environmental care and responsibility are character values that need to be developed. Students can get character education through the learning process and learning resources, one of which is textbooks. The purpose of this study was to determine whether there is an integration of character values and what is the percentage of integration of character values in high school chemistry textbooks that have been used by teachers in learning, especially the character of environmental care and responsibility. This research is a quantitative descriptive study using the questionnaire and observation sheet instruments. The sample in this study is the class X chemistry textbook that is most often used in teaching and learning activities at SMA Negeri 2 and SMA Negeri 4 Langsa City. The results showed that there was an integration of the character values of environmental care and responsibility in the X grade chemistry textbooks used by teachers of SMA Negeri 2 and SMA Negeri 4 Kota Langsa. The integration of environmental care character values is 38%, while the responsibility character values is 63%. The integration of the character values of environmental care and responsibility in the class X chemistry textbook appears in the column project activities, student activities, content content, and evaluation.

Abstract

Learning media has a very close relationship with the independent curriculum. As a curriculum that gives students the freedom to choose and determine the direction of their learning, an independent curriculum requires appropriate learning media to support and facilitate this freedom. The learning media used in this service activity is virtual laboratory media as a learning media that can be a solution to the problem of learning loss. The aim of this service activity process is to provide an explanation that is presented by presenting material about the importance of technology in learning, introducing examples of technology that can be used in the virtual practicum learning process. To carry out training in creating practical learning media based on simulation and animation media in accordance with the materials contained in science subjects which can be used in online science practicum learning. Carrying out training on creating a YouTube channel to uploading materials and getting YouTube links for materials that have been uploaded on the channel to sharing YouTube links with science teachers through online learning applications used such as Google Classroom. The method used in service activities is the service learning method with 4 activity stages, namely the Investigation Stage, Preparation Stage, Action Stage and Reflection Stage. The results of community service activities at SMA Muhammadiyah Langsa which were given to teachers and students had a positive impact on the use of virtual laboratory media applications to support the Merdeka curriculum

Abstract

Usaha Manisan Kelapa ALFIS merupakan Usaha Kecil Menengah (UKM) yang ada di Desa Simpang Lhee Kota Langsa. Belum adanya kompetitor untuk usaha ini di Kota langsa, menjadikan usaha ini memiliki prospek yang menjanjikan. Namun, pengemasan (packaging), varian rasa, dan proses pemasaran produk membutuhkan inovasi. Tujuan Kegiatan Pengabdian ini  adalah, 1) Tersedianya varian rasa baru yang enak dan sehat 2) Tersedianya produk manisan kelapa dengan kemasan yang menarik, 2) Terciptanya e-marketing dalam bentuk sosial media, sebagai sarana pemasaran produk manisan kelapa. Metode yang dilakukan untuk mencapai tujuan kegiatan pengabdian ini yaitu, 1) Penambahan varian rasa pada produk olahan manisan kelapa, 2) Pendampingan pelatihan inovasi pengemasan (packaging strategy) untuk menghasilkan produk yang menarik,, dan 3) Pemanfaatan media sosial untuk meningkatkan volume penjualan. Mitra dari kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah UKM Manisan Kelapa Alfis yang terletak di Gampong Simpang Lhee Kecamatan Langsa Barat Kota Langsa, Aceh. Target dan hasil yang tercapai dalam kegiatan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (PKM) ini adalah, formulasi varian rasa baru yang dapat diterima oleh masyarakat milenial. Packagig Strategy mendukung usaha pemasaran produk manisan kelapa yang profitable serta memiliki daya saing. Terciptanya e-marketing dalam bentuk sosial media  dalam kegiatan pengabdian ini merupakan salah satu cara untuk meningkatkan volume penjualan produk manisan kelapa ini. Kegiatan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat ini merupakan wujud berkontribusi dan implementasi manajemen usaha yang baik bagi UKM Manisan Kelapa Alfis sebagai mitra. Akhirnya kegiatan PKM ini menciptakan produk lokal yang terbaik dan dapat dijadikan oleh-oleh Kota Langsa yang laris dan bertahan eksistensinya baik dipasar tradisional, minimarket, maupun pasar online.
