Abstract

Accurate and rapid detection of bone fractures is an important challenge in the medical world, particularly in the field of radiology. This study aims to analyze and compare the performance of the YOLOv11 model with several previous versions of YOLO, namely YOLOv5, YOLOv8, and YOLOv10 in the task of detecting human bone fractures on X-ray and MRI images. The dataset used is the Human Bone Fractures Multi-modal Image Dataset (HBFMID) which consists of 641 raw images (510 X-rays and 131 MRIs). The four models were trained using the HBFMID dataset that had gone through a manual augmentation and annotation process, then tested using evaluation metrics such as precision, recall, mAP50, and mAP50-95. The training results showed that YOLOv11 has the most stable and consistent loss curve, with a fast convergence process. In terms of evaluation, YOLOv11 recorded a precision of 99.87%, a recall of 100%, a 99.49% mAP50, and an 84.13% increase in the number of mAP-95s, which generally outperformed other models. In addition, the visual prediction results show that YOLOv11 can detect fracture areas with the right bounding box and a balanced confidence score, without showing symptoms of overconfidence or inconsistency. When compared to approaches from previous studies, YOLOv11 also showed a significant improvement in detection accuracy. Thus, YOLOv11 is rated as the most optimal and reliable model in deep learning-based automatic bone fracture detection. This model has great potential to be applied in medical diagnosis support systems to improve the efficiency and accuracy of digital fracture identification.

Abstract

Foreign language anxiety (FLA) is a major barrier for students learning English as a foreign language (EFL). This anxiety often reduces their willingness to communicate and achieve academically. This article explores the role of academic buoyancy as a contributing factor to FLA. Academic buoyancy focuses on routine setbacks such as mistakes, exam stress, and difficulty participating in class. Drawing on literature in educational psychology and applied linguistics, this literature review highlights how students with FLA manage cognitive appraisals, regulate emotions, and maintain motivation, which collectively reduce anxiety and enhance language learning. A conceptual framework is proposed to illustrate the potential of academic buoyancy as a buffer against FLA in EFL classrooms. The article also discusses implications for teaching.

Abstract

Abstract

English language learning as a foreign language in Indonesia is often hindered by students' low motivation to learn independently. The concept of self-regulated learning (SRL), which emphasizes students' ability to manage their own learning, can be a potential solution to overcome this problem. However, teachers' understanding of the SRL concept is still minimal. This community service activity in the form of training aims to improve the knowledge and skills of English teachers in Banjarmasin city related to SRL. The community service activity was conducted by the PDWA Team of the English Education Study Program, FKIP, Lambung Mangkurat University. It was conducted over two days, covering the exposition of SRL concepts and strategies, as well as the design of SRL-based learning plans. The participants were 35 teachers from 35 SMPN in Banjarmasin who are members of MGMP Bahasa Inggris. The results showed a high level of interest and awareness among participants in developing SRL-based English language learning to increase students' motivation and active participation in the learning process. Thus, it can improve students' English proficiency. Several follow-up suggestions are proposed, including forming an SRL practitioner community, developing SRL-based learning materials, providing follow-up training, and collaborating with relevant parties.

Abstract

The selection of Multi-Purpose Vehicles (MPVs) at dealerships in Padang City involves complex and often conflicting criteria, where subjective recommendations risk leading to inaccurate decisions. This study aims to develop an objective decision support system to recommend the best MPV tailored to local needs by applying a Multi-Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) method based on the MOORA algorithm. Its primary contribution is a triple-perspective criteria model that integrates product technical aspects, local consumer preferences in Padang, and dealership business interests. Seven MPV alternatives were analyzed based on nine expert-weighted criteria. The optimization results identify the Honda BR-V as the top-ranking MPV, followed by the Mitsubishi X-Pander and Toyota Veloz. Validation using Spearman's Rank Correlation yielded a coefficient of ρ = 0.8036, confirming strong consistency with actual market performance. Thus, the MOORA method proves effective in generating accurate, objective recommendations for optimal MPV selection in Padang City.

Abstract

Micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) are one of the pillars of the current economy because they help the community and increase employment opportunities. MSMEs usually only reach an area, so if the area's MSMEs are developed then the surrounding community will also prosper, and vice versa. Even though it is only MSMEs in a region, it does not rule out the possibility of selling products/services to other regions or even abroad, one of which is by utilizing online-based sales. However, for food products, buyers usually prefer to go directly to the shop compared to ordering online because it takes time and there is a risk of damaged packaging and so on. Good sales are inventory that is always available and measurable both in offline and online sales. Therefore, the form of this system is to present information from data on the number of product sales using the Monte Carlo simulation method in the MSME industry of XYZ shop, the aim of which is to predict income and inventory of goods from sales of each product for the following month. In essence, this system is designed to predict gross profit on each type of item in the store. With this system, it is hoped that it can be used by the MSME industry to simulate the sale of goods in shops, and can make it easier for MSME industry owners to obtain information about the possibilities that will occur in the sale of their products.

Abstract

This study aims to develop and evaluate a Self-Regulated Learning (SRL) Guide tailored for English Education students. Employing a Research and Development (R&D) design adapted from Borg and Gall, the study consisted of needs analysis, product design, expert validation, field testing, and dissemination. The needs analysis revealed that students experienced difficulties in goal-setting, time management, and self-reflection, indicating the necessity of structured SRL guidance. Based on these findings, an SRL Guide was developed integrating metacognitive, motivational, and behavioral strategies within English learning contexts. The prototype was validated by experts and achieved high validity scores (mean > 4.5). Field testing using a quasi-experimental design showed significant improvement in students’ SRL skills (p < 0.05), particularly in planning, monitoring, and reflection. Dissemination results indicated high acceptance among lecturers and students. The study concludes that the SRL Guide is valid, practical, and effective in enhancing learner autonomy and academic performance.
