Abstract

This Community Service Program (PkM) aims to solve the difficulties faced by the Pusako Bundo coffee business in Kenagarian Pasie Laweh. The problems faced by partners are the production system that is still simple, the low production capacity so that producers have not met market needs. Efforts to improve product quality are carried out with assistance and training in production management. The activities carried out are in the form of increasing knowledge in the processing of coffee processing processes with the application of technology, so as to be able to prepare raw material needs and make production records, know product sanitation and innovation efforts. The implementation of the community service program has been able to provide good packaging, and provide knowledge to partners about good production systems to produce products with better quality and activity have a significant impact on the sustainability of the partner's business and have a significant impact on the sustainability of partners' businesses.

Abstract

Brake pads are one of the components of a motor vehicle that functions to slow down or stop the vehicle's motion. In the concept of braking, one inevitable factor is wear and tear. Wear and tear occur when two objects press against each other and create friction. Composite material is an alternative substance that can be used to replace asbestos brake pads. In this research, shell of palm oil, alumina (Al2O3) powder and epoxy was used for material of brake pad. Type of brake pads was made in this study is brake pads used for motorcycle disc brakes. Addition of volume fraction of alumina powder to 6% in composite material. The aims this study was determine the characterization of brake pad based on composite materials with addition of alumina powder in composite material. This study showed that there was increase of physical and mechanical properties with the addition of alumina powder in composites up 6% by volume fraction.

Abstract

Injection molding is one of the techniques used to create plastic items. Plastic goods with good dimensional tolerances are frequently made using the efficient, accurate, and cost-effective injection molding process. The advantages of injection molding include quick product production, accurate process execution, cheap labor costs, automation of the process, and the ability to produce large quantities of items. There are many benefits to using a controller as a measuring device when injection molding. Making injection molding equipment easier to handle and observe is one of them. The process of regulating or controlling one or more quantities (variables) so that they are at a specific objective is known as a control system. In this study, a compact, mobile, automatic plastic injection machine that can create small plastic objects was developed. The design process is developed using the Python programming language, and the control system is a microcontroller of the Raspberry Pi type that has a complete architecture, including wifi and bluetooth modules, as well as a lot of memory. A NEMA 23 stepper motor with a torque of 2.2 Nm and a TB6600 motor driver are used in the drive system to control the voltage and rotation of the motor. A band heater type heating element with a maximum working temperature of 350°C at 220 volts is used in the heating system. A desktop program running on a 7-inch TFT display will show the process of controlling and monitoring the device.

Abstract

The lack of adhesion bonding of the hydroxyapatite (HA) coating layer on the surface of implant material can cause the coating layer to peel off during implantation and will increase the risk of metallic ion release to human body and may also to increase inflammatory effect and slow down the osseointegration process. In order to increase the adhesion of HA coated Ti-6Al-4V ELI by adding Zirconium Oxide (ZrO2) into the coating layer.The coating process of the HA suspension with addition ZrO2 into Ti-6Al-4V ELI sample surfaces was conducted by using dip-coating method. The samples were then heated at 800, 900, and 950 °C. The improvement of adhesion coating was correlated by calculating the removed area. The low value of removed coating area indicated the adhesion coating is good. The test specimen with the addition of ZrO2, has a removed area fewer than the test specimen without the addition of PVA- ZrO2 has. This shows that the test specimen with the addition of ZrO2 has good coating adhesion.The addition of PVA- ZrO2 to the HA suspension increases adhesion bonding of the coating layer, as indicated by the low removed area as compared to that of without PVA- ZrO2 coating.

Abstract

Low carbon steels are materials that are mostly used as materials of general construction. Because low carbon steels have high ductility, but the hardness is low and not wear resistant. This can be solved by changing the properties of the available material by the heat treatment process. The microstructure depends on the process experienced, especially the heat-processing process received during the process. Heat resistance to low carbon steel is important. Heat Treatment is one of the processes to change the metal structure by heating the specimen on electric trance (furnace) at recrystallization temperature for a certain period of time then cooled to cooling medium such as air, water, oil and diesel which each have different density cooling. In this heat treatment process the heating temperature is 800-900oC, 60% carbon powder and 40% Barium Carbonate as energizer which accelerates the process, the holding time is 20 minutes with the cooling medium is SAE 20 - 50 oil. The result is a material structural change that undergoes heat treatment process with the longest detention time of 20 minutes with a temperature of 900oC.From the results of material testing data it can be obtained a conclusion that the heat treatment obtained material that has high hardness on the surface and still soft on the inside.

Abstract

Forced vortex turbine is a turbine that utilizes water pressure to drive its turbine blades. Water is one of the natural resources that has not been utilized optimally, and is still rarely developed. The advantages of this vortex turbine that we make are very easy to operate, very minimal operational costs, can be monitored with a smartphone and also the LCD on the turbine, the ability to generate electricity, and can be used for practical mechatonic tools. course and energy conversion. There are many benefits of using a monitoring system as a measuring tool when checking data. The data to be monitored are water discharge, turbine rotation speed, generator rotation speed, vortex height, generated voltage, and power generated by the turbine. The C programming language is used to program the microcontroller that we use, because this programming language is classified as a programming language. programming that is not too complicated and the ESP32 microcontroller is used for control systems because it has a strong architecture with the input pins and output pins that we need fully available on this microcontroller, then features such as built-in WiFi, Bluetooth which are also built-in from the microcontroller and a large amount of memory. Abstract

Kabupaten Kepulauan Mentawai memiliki risiko tinggi terhadap berbagai bencana alam, termasuk gempa bumi, tsunami, banjir, tanah longsor, gelombang ekstrim, dan kekeringan. Kondisi ini menuntut strategi mitigasi yang adaptif dan berkelanjutan. Pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan mendampingi pemerintah desa dan masyarakat dalam mengintegrasikan Pengurangan Risiko Bencana (PRB) dan Adaptasi Perubahan Iklim (API) ke dalam dokumen perencanaan desa (RPJMDes dan RKPDes). Metode yang digunakan berbasis partisipatif, meliputi sosialisasi, pelatihan, pemetaan risiko, penyusunan Rencana Aksi Komunitas (RAK), dan fasilitasi integrasi ke dokumen perencanaan. Hasil menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman masyarakat terhadap potensi risiko, kemampuan menyusun rencana mitigasi dan adaptasi sesuai kondisi lokal, serta penguatan kapasitas desa menghadapi bencana. Temuan ini menegaskan pentingnya integrasi PRB dan API untuk membangun desa yang tangguh, adaptif, dan berkelanjutan.
