Abstract

The ability to think critically is one of the abilities that must be possessed by students in facing the rapid development of the times. Students' critical thinking skills can be developed through Socratic questions. This research is to find out 1) the types of Socratic questions used in learning and 2) whether Socratic questions can optimize students' critical thinking skills. The method used is a qualitative and quantitative approach with a pretest-posttest one group design. The research subjects were mathematics education students who attended linear algebra courses at Muhammadiyah Metro University. Data collection was carried out through observation and tests with descriptive qualitative and quantitative data analysis techniques. Socratic questions asked by lecturers in learning linear algebra include questions of clarification, investigative assumptions, reasons, investigative evidence, and beliefs. Socrates' questions can stimulate students' critical thinking activities to strengthen their understanding of concepts. Students' critical thinking skills increased in the medium category. The types of Socratic questions used in learning are distinguished based on three stages, namely in the introduction stage, the types of questions asked by the lecturer are clarification questions. At the core stage, Socratic questions include questions of clarification, investigative assumptions, evidence/reasons, and beliefs. And in the concluding stage, Socrates' question is a clarifying question. Socratic questions used in learning can optimize students' critical thinking skills. The results of this study are expected to be a reference for lecturers in applying Socratic questions in learning, especially in linear algebra courses.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of the Geogebra app in facilitating the discovery learning paradigm in mathematics instruction for junior high school pupils. The experimental technique is used for the investigation. Using Simple Random Sampling, 17 students from the eighth grade boys' class and 20 students from the eighth grade girls' class served as the experimental and control groups, respectively. The assessment tool used is an essay-based exam. Observation, interviews, documentation, and testing are all methods of data gathering, and a t-test is used for data analysis. The study found that compared to traditional learning models, the discovery learning model with the use of the Geogebra app had an effect size of 2.143>2.030, indicating a relationship between the two. This is due to the fact that students are motivated to actively participate in problem-solving via the exploration of their own talents, investigation of the issue, and eventual solution, all of which are supported by the discovery learning paradigm and made possible by the Geogebra program. It follows that Geogebra's discovery learning methodology affects Sunan Ampel Punggur Middle School students' performance in the classroom

Abstract

Anak Cerebral Palsy (CP) memerlukan perhatian khusus dan dukungan dari dari orang tua, tetapi sering mengalami kesulitan karena minimnya pengetahuan yang dimiliki. Kurangnya perhatian dan dukungan menjadi salah satu masalah utama. Oleh karena itu tim pengabdi melakukan pendampingan sharing experiences dan psikoedukasi orang tua CP yang untuk meringankan beban dan menstabilkan emosi orang tua. Tujuan pendampingan ini yaitu orang tua dapat merawat anaknya dan fokus pada tumbuh kembangnya dengan menerima keadaan serta mengurangi adanya intervensi sekitarnya. Metode pengabdian ini yaitu 1) Perencanaan , 2) Pelaksanaan dan 3) Evaluasi. Hasil pengabdian ini yaitu terdapat peningkatan pengetahuan orang tua terkait pendampingan pada anak CP sebagai salah satu tindakan dan keterampilan orang tua dalam menghadapi tantangan psikologis dan emosional saat merawat anak CP.

Abstract

Keterlambatan tumbuh kembang anak dengan cerebral palsy (CP) yang berdampak pada kemampuan motorik kasar dan halus. Tujuannya meningkatkan pengetahuan, keterampilan, dan kesiapan orang tua melalui pendampingan latihan motorik kasar berbasis Stimulasi Motorik Head-Centered. Metode pelaksanaan meliputi tahap persiapan, sosialisasi, pelatihan, penerapan teknologi, pendampingan, evaluasi, dan keberlanjutan program. Hasil yang diperoleh saat pelaksanaan persiapan diperoleh pendataan 24 peserta ketika dilaksanakan sosialisasi semua hadir dan belum pernah mendapatkan informasi terkait stimulasi tersebut, saat pelatihan dilakukan pre test dan di saat tahap evaluasi 95% ada peningkatan hasil pengetahuan setelah dilakukan post test. Kesimpulannya, program ini efektif meningkatkan kapasitas orang tua dalam mendukung perkembangan anak CP.

Abstract

Abstract This study is to detail the creation of Student Worksheets (LKPD) that incorporate Islamic principles into the System of Linear Equations in Two Variables (SPLDV) curriculum and are based on the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model. The ADDIE model is used in this study. Experts in materials, design, and Islamic principles participated in the product validation questionnaires used to gather data for the study, which was carried out at MTs Muhammadiyah Metro Lampung. Additionally, students were involved through the implementation of a product practicality questionnaire. Ten students worked in a small group to complete the practicality test. By following the ADDIE steps—analysis stage, which includes study of teaching materials and student characteristics—the research development's outcomes are PBL-based LKPD integrated with Islamic principles in SPLDV material. design stage, which encompasses learning planning; development stage, wherein instructional materials are adjusted in response to expert input: Following the implementation stage, which is conducted through small group trials, the evaluation stage is conducted at each level. Very valid percentages of 89.5%, 85.7%, and 88% were reached by material experts, design experts, and Islamic values experts, respectively, for their validation results. An evaluation of the educator response questionnaire's practicality yielded an 87.2% extremely practical proportion. Class VIII SPLDV material is legitimate and beneficial for the educational process, and LKPD was founded with an integrated PBL learning model with Islamic principles based on the research findings.

Abstract

Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pendampingan Parental Thai Massage. permasalahan yang diterapkan dalam komunitas ini adalah Parental Traditional Thai Massage, yang bertujuan untuk mengurangi stres, meningkatkan relaksasi, serta meningkatkan kesadaran sensorik pada anak autisme.Parental Traditional Thai Massage ini memberikan stimulasi pada sistem saraf pusat, membantu meredakan ketegangan otot, dan menciptakan efek relaksasi yang bermanfaat bagi anak. Metode pengabdian ini yaitu pengumpulan data, perencanaan, pelaksanaan dan evaluasi. Hasil pengabdian menunjukkan mitra sangat antusias dalam mengikuti pendampingan pendampingan Parental Thai Massage. Sebelum pendampingan dilakukan, hampir secara keseluruhan mitra belum mengetahui manfaat pendampingan Parental Thai Massage untuk meningkatkan kesadaran sensoris pada anak autis. Setelah diberikan pendampingan Parental Thai Massage 90% anggota KOPALA memahami dalam pelaksanaan teknik Parental Thai Massage. Dalam kegiatan tersebut, KOPALA sangat antusias dalam mengikuti pendampingan pembuatan Parental Thai Massage. Sebelum pendampingan dilakukan, hampir secara keseluruhan KOPALA belum mengetahui bahwasannya Parental Thai Massage memberikan efek stimulasi untuk meningkatkan kesadaran sensoris. Setelah diberikan pendampingan teknik Parental Thai Massage 90% orang tua KOPALA memahami teknik Parental Thai Massage

Abstract

Children with autism often face challenges in recognizing and controlling their own bodies, a condition referred to as body awareness. Deficits in body awareness can significantly affect motor skills, nonverbal communication, and social interaction. Despite the importance of this developmental domain, interactive training media tailored to the sensory and cognitive needs of children with autism remain limited. This study aims to develop an Android-based application to enhance body awareness in children with autism through the integration of music, video, and mirror game activities. The research utilized the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) development model. Instruments included expert validation questionnaires for both content and media, as well as user response surveys and comprehension tests administered to 30 children with autism in Metro City. Validation results indicated high feasibility, with ratings of 88.75% from media design experts and 90.00% from content experts. Effectiveness testing revealed a statistically significant improvement in body awareness, with a 20-point gain between pre-test and post-test scores (t = 13.70; p < 0.001; 95% CI: 16.70–23.30). These results suggest that the developed application is a practical, engaging, and effective tool for supporting body awareness development in children with autism, and it may serve as a valuable resource for educators, therapists, and parents.

Abstract

Many students struggle to understand abstract concepts in Statistics because of limited contextual and interactive learning resources that connect theory to practice. Moreover, there is a lack of e-modules integrating prophetic values to support the vision of Universitas Muhammadiyah Metro. However, existing studies have not sufficiently integrated OBE with prophetic values in digital learning media for statistics, indicating a clear research gap. This study aims to develop an OBE-based e-module integrated with prophetic values for Statistics courses. The research employed an R&D method using the ADDIE model (analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation). The subjects were students of the Economic Education Study Program. Data were collected through interviews, expert validation and student response questionnaires, and analysed using descriptive quantitative and qualitative techniques. The results show that the e-module is highly valid (91.6%) and very practical (mean score = 4.3/5). Learning outcomes improved from an average of 62.5 to 83.7 (p < 0.05), indicating positive learning gains. This study provides contextual and methodological contributions by integrating OBE principles with prophetic values in digital learning design, and theoretical contributions in linking cognitive and character development in statistics learning. Future research should involve larger samples and longer implementation periods to assess affective outcomes better.

Abstract

The integration of technology in mathematics learning is essential to overcome students’ difficulties in visualizing abstract concepts, particularly polyhedra. This study aims to develop an Android-based interactive learning media and to determine its validity and practicality. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE model, which consists of five stages: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The subjects of this study involved three material experts, three media experts, and 10 junior high school students in a limited trial. Data were collected using expert validation sheets and student response questionnaires, and analyzed using descriptive percentage techniques. The results showed that the developed media achieved a validity level of 82% from material experts and 90% from media experts, both categorized as very valid. Furthermore, the practicality test conducted on students resulted in a score of 86%, which is categorized as very practical. These findings indicate that the developed media is feasible and supports students in understanding and visualizing polyhedra concepts. In conclusion, the Android-based interactive learning media developed through the ADDIE model is valid and practical as supplementary learning media. It has the potential to enhance students’ motivation, independence, and learning outcomes in mathematics learning.
