Abstract

The purpose of this study was to find out how the influence of non-cash payments (debit cards, credit cards, and e-money), BI7DRR interest rates, and the impact of covid-19 on the money supply in Indonesia. The data used is monthly time series data, from September 2018 to August 2021. This study uses a quantitative approach using the Error Correction Model (ECM) method. The data analysis techniques used include: stationarity test, cointegration test, long-term and short-term ECM estimation, classical assumption test, and hypothesis testing. The results show that in the long-term debit cards and e-money have a positive and significant effect on money supply, credit cards and dummy (the impact of covid-19) have no significant effect on money supply, interest rates have a negative and significant effect on money supply. While in the short-term debit cards and dummy (the impact of covid-19) have a positive and significant effect on money supply, credit cards, e-money, and interest rates have no significant effect on money supply.

Abstract

This study is aimed to measure the efficiency of the implementation of monetary policy in Indonesia in the period of 1999:1 – 2015:2 with Cecchetti and Krause (2002) model approach by using loss function method. Estimation method used in this study is autoregressive dynamic model with two linear equations (industrial production function and the function of inflation). The first equation is production function with dependent variable is log industrial production and independent variables are the BI Rate, the inflation, the log industrial production, and log external prices inflation (the ratio of export import). As the second equation is the function of inflation where the dependent variable is inflation and the independent variables are log industrial production, inflation, and external prices inflation (the ratio of export import). The research results showed the monetary policy in Indonesia in the long term is relatively more efficient than short term. It is proven by the fluctuations in the loss function on the efficiency frontier curve where the value of the loss function is closer to the origin and in the frontier area in the long term which shows that the monetary policy is relatively more efficient. In the long term, the value of the loss function of inflation is 7,9712 and loss function of production is 0,0382. Whereas, in the short term, the value of the loss function of production is 0,6808 and inflastion is 9,4325.

Abstract

This study investigates the long-term impact of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) adoption and trade openness on youth unemployment in ASEAN countries over the period 2000–2023. Panel data are analyzed using the Fully Modified Ordinary Least Squares (FMOLS) estimation method. The empirical results indicate that trade openness reduces youth unemployment, particularly among male youth. However, its effect is relatively weaker and not consistently significant for female youth, suggesting the presence of gender disparities in labor absorption within tradable sectors. Furthermore, digital infrastructure plays a crucial role in mitigating youth unemployment. Both fixed broadband and mobile cellular subscriptions are found to significantly reduce youth unemployment rates, with broadband access exhibiting a stronger and more consistent effect across models. Overall, the findings suggest that ICT adoption and trade openness constitute important mechanisms for reducing youth unemployment in ASEAN countries.

This study aims to analyze the influence of economic factors, including the inflation rate, money supply, and exports, on the rupiah exchange rate in the long and short term. This study uses monthly data from 2016 to 2021. The analysis tool used is the Error Correction Model. The results indicate that inflation and exports have a positive and significant impact on the rupiah exchange rate in both the long and short terms. Meanwhile, the money supply variable has a positive but insignificant effect on the rupiah exchange rate in the long and short term. Keywords: inflation, money supply, exports, exchange rate, error correction model
