Abstract

Indonesia is a country that is rich in language, culture, customs and is also rich in traditional houses or traditional houses. A traditional or traditional house is a building with a structure or shape that has its own characteristics as a characteristic or identity of an area and in general, traditional houses are built using local materials. One of the traditional houses in Riau that still exists and is well maintained is the Lontiok House. The Lontiok house has ornaments and architecture like a stilt house which has stairs, steps and a gate in front which signifies respect for every guest who comes to the Lontiok house and also respects the host himself. The philosophy and value of the gate or pavilion of the lontiok house is to respect one another. This study discusses the social values ​​of Lontiok Houses with the aim of describing the social values ​​contained in Lontiok Houses. The benefits obtained from this research can make a foothold to the general public that the Lontiok house is one of Riau's cultural heritage. The research method used in this research is a qualitative research method with a descriptive approach. Collection of library research data and field research. Library research relies almost entirely on data from libraries. The results obtained in this study are that there are seven social values ​​contained in the Lontiok house, namely: 1) Social kinship values ​​(deliberation), 2) Religious values, 3) Economic values, 4) values ​​of togetherness or affection, 5) Values ​​of please helping, 6) the value of tolerance and 7) the value of caring.

Abstract

The discussion of this study explains the results of the research that has been carried out. In this first cycle, the indicators for interpreting ability, articulation, intonation, diction, expression, and totality were inadequate or still in the moderate category. Even so, learning in the first cycle of action has not been achieved but has experienced an increase. The reflection results from the first cycle can be used as a reference for implementing the second cycle class treatment. The implementation of the second cycle of class treatment has been fully achieved and has increased as expected in all indicators. Based on the results of the first and second cycle d, it can be concluded that the application of calempong-based poetry musicalization learning can improve the poetry reading ability of class XI students of SMKN I Bangkinang. This can be seen from the increase in indicators of the ability to read poetry in learning Indonesian.

Abstract

This study aims to explain the form and social meaning of the Lontiok House in Kampar District, Pulau Belimbing Village. The Lontiok house has a unique/traditional architecture because of its patterns and ornaments in the form of carvings so that its splendor can be seen even more. The characteristics and colors of the ornaments of the Lontiok House depict the life and daily personality of the Malay people, which are thick with customs that must be upheld and the Islamic religion which is firmly applied in everyday life. This paper identifies and documents this house as one of the Malay buildings that needs to be maintained and preserved and has a social meaning that is adhered to by the people there. A qualitative research method with a field study approach was used in this study because the research object was directly reviewed in the field. Theories about Malay architecture and Malay building ornaments serve as background knowledge supported by information obtained from literature and field data as well as actors within the scope of research. The results of this study indicate that the existence of the Lontiok House building has its own function, form and meaning related to people’s lives in Pulau Belimbing Village, Kampar District.
