Abstract

The increasing need for basic urban facilities and infrastructure, such as housing, can result in a reduction in green open land which can reduce the ability of water to infiltrate into the ground and increase surface runoff. Aria Rempoa Townhouse, a housing complex that is still in the development process, may have problems like these. Therefore, it is necessary to implement the zero delta runoff concept with ecodrainage technology such as retention pond and infiltration well. Research was carried out on the design flood at the outlet before the townhouse is built and after the townhouse is built if the zero delta runoff concept is applied with retention pond and infiltration wells. There are 3 scenarios, scenario 0 before the townhouse is built, scenario 1 after it is built without ecodrainage technology, scenario 2 after it is built with a retention pond, and scenario 3 after it is built with infiltration wells. The research results show that scenario 2 fulfills the concept of zero delta runoff with a pool area of 42 m2 with a depth 3.5 m and 2 outlet pipes with diameter 10 inches without doors discharge the design flood at the outlet of 0,281 m3/sec which is smaller than design flood at the outlet before the townhouse is built of 0.288 m3/second.

Abstract

The hydrological and environmental cycles in a river area strongly affect rainfall intensity and seasonal patterns. To accurately assess water resource capacity, precise rainfall data from each observation station is crucial. However, unevenly distributed rain gauges often challenge researchers, as insufficient data can hinder their analysis. In these situations, satellite images can provide valuable additional information.Aims: The objective of this study was to analyze the accuracy of CHIRPS satellite rainfall data from observation stations in the Ciliwung watershed, especially in the DKI Jakarta Province area, over the last 30 years (1993–2022).Methodology and results: Statistical analysis such as multiple linear regression with the stepwise method is used to analyze CHIRPS rainfall against observed rainfall data according to the location of the rain station. The validation results in this study show that the average results of the two observation stations have a value of R2 = 0.91 and NSE = 0.9068.Conclusion, significance and impact study: CHIRPS data can be categorized as very good if used as an alternative to limited observational rainfall data, which can then be used in analyzing water availability in the Ciliwung watershed (Jakarta).

Abstract

Flooding remains one of the most significant natural disasters affecting communities around the world. Proper management of flood discharge in drainage channels is essential to mitigate its impacts on public safety, infrastructure, and the environment. In recent years, advancements in hydrodynamic modeling tools, such as the Hydraulic Engineering Center's River Analysis System (HEC-RAS) 6.3.1, have provided governments with powerful tools to analyze and manage flood discharges effectively. This research aims to investigate the role of government-led management strategies in handling flood discharge within drainage channels using the HEC-RAS 6.3.1 application. The study assesses how the application's features and capabilities can be harnessed by governmental agencies to make informed decisions and implement effective flood management plans. The research methodology involves a combination of field surveys, data collection, and computer simulations using the HEC-RAS 6.3.1 software. Geographic information systems (GIS) data, topographical surveys, and historical flood records are utilized to calibrate and validate the model's accuracy. Various flood scenarios are simulated to assess the performance of different government-led management strategies. The findings of this study reveal that the integration of HEC-RAS 6.3.1 with government-led management approaches enhances the understanding of flood dynamics within drainage channels. The application facilitates the identification of critical flood-prone areas, prediction of potential flood events, and evaluation of flood mitigation measures. The government can utilize this valuable information to formulate more effective flood management policies and allocate resources efficiently.
