Abstract

The learning process is not innovative, especially in terms of the use of media, and learning becomes monotonous and uninteresting if a conventional approach is used. This is the motivation of this research. This has an impact on students' low interest in learning, which in turn causes them not to have many learning activities. In this research, researchers used a quantitative approach, and the type of research used was quasi-experiment. This data is collected using questionnaires, tests and instructions. The purpose of this research is to find out how students who receive Rainbow Spinning Wheel training differ from students who do not receive such training. The results of the research show that the use of rainbow spinning wheel media significantly changes the learning abilities of students in class III MIN 7 Medan City. This is shown by the average learning activeness score of students who use the Rainbow Spinning Wheel media of 80. On the other hand, the t test results obtained, 20.6 versus 16.74, indicate that the average learning activeness of students who do not use the Roda media Rainbow Spin is 71.78.

Abstract

This study aims to explore teachers’ perceptions of the development of Integrated Social Studies (IPS) Student Worksheets (LKPD) based on social and religious values in State Elementary School 152979 Pandan 1. The study is grounded in the importance of integrating character values into Social Studies learning to support the formation of the Pancasila Student Profile. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed, supported by quantitative data from a four-point Likert-scale questionnaire, in-depth interviews, and a document review of the LKPD. The research subjects were 10 teachers involved in Social Studies instruction. The questionnaire instrument comprised four dimensions: the urgency and benefits of value-based LKPD, ease of development and implementation, availability of support, and impact on students’ attitudes, interests, and social interactions. The findings revealed that the “impact on students” dimension scored the highest (3.90), followed by “urgency and benefits” (3.85), “ease of development and implementation” (3.10), and “availability of support” (2.75). Teachers believe that value-based LKPD is effective in improving students’ learning motivation, social skills, and positive attitudes, although technical constraints and limited institutional support remain challenges. The study recommends continuous training, provision of relevant references, and strengthening teacher collaboration to ensure the sustainability of value-based LKPD implementation in elementary schools.

Abstract

Social Studies (IPS) learning, particularly the material on Indonesia's Struggle for Independence, plays an important role in fostering historical awareness, nationalism, and students' character. However, IPS learning in Madrasah Tsanawiyah still tends to be teacher-centred and rote, thereby involving students less actively and not yet fully internalising the values of the struggle. This study aims to develop a role-playing learning model integrated with the Integrated IPS textbook on the History of Indonesia's Struggle for Independence for grade IX students at MTs Yanbu'ul Ulum Kandis, and to test its feasibility and effectiveness. This study uses a Research and Development (R&D) approach with stages including preliminary study, planning, product development, expert validation, limited trials, and model refinement. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, learning outcomes tests, questionnaires, and documentation. The research results indicate that the developed role-playing learning model is valid and feasible, as assessed by material experts, learning model experts, and practitioners. In addition, the implementation of the model has been proven effective in improving cognitive learning outcomes, learning activities, nationalism attitudes, social skills, and students' learning motivation, as well as facilitating teachers in managing learning. Therefore, the role-playing learning model based on the Integrated Social Studies (IPS) textbook can serve as an innovative alternative for teaching history-related IPS in Madrasah Tsanawiyah, fostering more meaningful, contextual, and character-oriented learning.
