Abstract

The development of digital technology has brought significant changes in the world of education, including in Social Studies learning at the elementary school level. Digital learning media plays an important role in increasing the effectiveness and engagement of students during the learning process. With an emphasis on its advantages, difficulties, and application in primary schools, this essay seeks to investigate the function of digital media in social studies education. System Literature Review is used in this research process (SLR). In addition to this study, researchers collected journal articles from various sources, including Google Scholar, ResearchGate, and SINTA. Only publications published between 2023 and 2025 were included in the collection. Twenty of these articles were chosen because they were extremely pertinent to the keywords that were utilized. The use of digital media, such as interactive films, learning applications, and other digital platforms, can help students comprehend social studies subjects in a more tangible and interesting way, according to a review of the literature and an analysis of recent research. Digital media also encourages independent and collaborative learning, and increases learning motivation. However, challenges such as infrastructure limitations, teacher readiness and students' digital literacy need serious attention. In conclusion, digital learning media has great potential in supporting more meaningful social studies learning, as long as it is supported by the right implementation strategy.
