Abstract

Background: Chronic renal failure is a condition that shows abnormalities in kidney structure or function and affects health conditions. Hemodialysis is the main therapy for chronic renal failure patients. Hemodialysis is performed with a frequency of 8-12 times per month for 3-4 hours per hemodialysis session. Patients who undergo hemodialysis will affect their quality of life. Purpose: The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between hemodialysis frequency and quality of life in patients with chronic renal failure undergoing hemodialysis. Methods: The research design used correlational analysis with a Cross-Sectional approach. Non-probability sampling technique with consecutive sampling approach totaling 40 samples. The research instrument used the World Health Organization Quality of Life-Bref (WHOQol-BREF) questionnaire. Bivariate test using Fisher's Exact Test. Results: The results of the Fisher's Exact Test bivariate test obtained a value of p = 0.000 (p <0.05). The conclusion of this study shows a correlation between the frequency of hemodialysis and quality of life in patients with chronic renal failure. Implication: Determining the frequency of hemodialysis needs to consider the results of urea and creatinine examinations both before and after hemodialysis as well as things that need to be considered and how to handle them. Through the application of appropriate management, it can improve the quality of life of patients with chronic renal failure.

Education is very important for the progress of a civilization and of course education is not only an academic activity, but also as a foundation for students to contribute and actively participate in society through service. Service itself is an activity carried out by individuals or groups, such as students, lecturers, or educational institutions, to make a positive contribution to society. In accordance with the mission of UNNES college which is dedicated to contributing to society, we UNNES students strive to solve problems in society. We collaborate with partners, namely Sruwen Village, to solve problems in used cooking oil waste so that it does not become useless waste and has an impact on health and the environment. Used Cooking Oil is one of the wastes that is very often found in households. Used cooking oil is the remaining used cooking oil produced from household activities, restaurants, or the food industry. So that UNNES KKN GIAT 11 students develop used cooking oil products that can be developed especially in Sruwen Village, namely aromatherapy candle products through education and training so that they can be applied directly by housewives in dealing with used cooking oil waste. This activity was carried out on February 27, 2025 and at 9 am. The target of this activity is the mothers of the PKK Induk Sruwen Village. Community service aims to provide readers with knowledge related to the processing of used cooking oil waste, providing solutions in solving used cooking oil waste in the community.

Abstract

Introduction: Hypertension commonly occurs in middle-aged to elderly individuals and, if left untreated, can lead to fatal outcomes. It is often triggered by lifestyle factors such as physical inactivity, poor diet, lack of sleep, and smoking. Purpose: This study aimed to examine the relationship between lifestyle and the incidence of hypertension at the Prima Health Center in Gudang Village, Situbondo Regency. Methods: A cross-sectional correlational design was used. The study population consisted of 130 individuals, with a sample of 98 hypertensive patients selected through stratified sampling. Data were collected using a lifestyle questionnaire and observation sheet. Univariate analysis was conducted using frequency and percentage, while bivariate analysis used the Spearman rank test. Results: The majority (62.3%) of respondents had unhealthy lifestyles, and most (58.2%) were diagnosed with stage one hypertension. The Spearman rank test showed a p-value of 0.001 ≤ 0.05, indicating a significant correlation. The contingency coefficient of 0.538 suggests a moderate relationship between lifestyle and hypertension. Conclusion: Unhealthy lifestyles are associated with higher stages of hypertension. A significant correlation exists between lifestyle and the incidence of hypertension in Gudang Village

Abstract

This study examines the influence of institutional trustworthiness and perceived information security on the reliability of e-government services, with strategic human capital alignment as a mediating variable. A quantitative survey was conducted among 150 government administrators managing digital services under the official ‘go.id’ domain. Using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM), the results show that institutional trustworthiness significantly affects both human capital alignment and perceived service reliability, while perceived information security influences only internal alignment. However, the mediating effect of human capital alignment is not supported. These findings suggest that public trust in digital services is more influenced by institutional legitimacy than technical security or internal initiatives. The study highlights the need to align human capital development—such as training, procedural readiness, and national programs like the Digital Talent Scholarship—with strategic performance goals to enhance service credibility. Practical and theoretical implications are discussed for public sector digital governance.

Abstract

This study explores the impact of parenting styles, grounded in the Health Belief Model (HBM), on the personal hygiene practices of school-aged children in the Bangka region of Indonesia. Personal hygiene is critical for preventing diseases, particularly in children aged 6-12, who are at higher risk of exposure to disease-causing environments such as schools. Using a cross-sectional design, the study collected data from 80 parents and children through validated questionnaires, examining how different parenting styles—authoritarian, permissive, and democratic—affect children’s hygiene habits. The results indicate a strong correlation between parenting style and children's hygiene practices, with authoritarian parenting being the most prevalent (40%) and showing the highest adherence to hygiene routines. Additionally, the study found a significant positive relationship between parents' awareness of hygiene-related health risks and their children’s hygiene behaviors. The findings suggest that parental engagement and health beliefs play a crucial role in shaping children’s hygiene habits. These results have important implications for public health policies and parental education programs, emphasizing the need for targeted interventions that improve parental health literacy and promote balanced parenting styles to ensure long-term hygiene habits in children. The study calls for further research into culturally appropriate educational strategies that support parental involvement in promoting child health in regions with high incidences of hygiene-related diseases.

Abstract

Background: Megathrust earthquakes are natural disasters with the potential to cause severe damage and significantly impact people's lives, especially in earthquake-prone areas such as Puger, Jember. Schools, as places where many students gather during school hours, are highly vulnerable to disasters such as earthquakes, floods, and landslides, which can cause building collapse and endanger student safety. Purpose: This study aims to examine the relationship between knowledge and preparedness, and self-efficacy, with students' preparedness for a megathrust earthquake in the Puger area. Methods: The study used a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional correlational design. The sampling technique used cluster random sampling followed by random sampling within each designated cluster. Data analysis used the Spearman Rank correlation test. Results: The results showed a significant relationship between knowledge and preparedness (p = 0.000) and between self-efficacy and preparedness (p = 0.012). This means that increasing knowledge and self-efficacy can significantly improve student preparedness. Conclusion and recommendation: There is a positive and significant relationship between knowledge level and preparedness, and self-efficacy and preparedness among students at SMPN 3 Puger.
