Abstract

Tuberculosis (TB) transmission awareness is crucial for TB prevention in the community. However, efforts to prevent TB transmission from TB patients’ perspectives, especially in the rural area, are not well documented. This study aimed to explore the efforts made by TB patients in preventing transmission to the community. This research was qualitative research with a phenomenological approach. Participants in this study were 12 people selected by purposive sampling. Data collection was done by in-depth interviews and recorded. Data analysis was carried out by thematic analysis. This study produced seven themes: perception of TB disease, performing alternative treatments, using personal protective equipment, environmental modification, adhering to treatment, limiting interactions with others, and increasing food intake. Knowledge and awareness of TB patients are still an issue in preventing the transmission of TB in the community. Immediate intervention needs to be made regarding increasing knowledge and awareness of TB patients and the supervision of health workers regularly in handling TB disease in the community.

This study used a qualitative phenomenology design to assess the adolescent’s experience of gender-based violence. The participants were 15 female adolescents aged 15-18. Participants were interviewed using semi-structured in-depth interviews. The qualitative data obtained were transcribed and analyzed using the Colaizzi approach. The results were structured into four themes according to the adolescent experiences of violence. The themes were the violence experienced; Victim’s efforts to deal with the violent incident; Barriers to not reporting or telling others; hope and desire for violence prevention. This study highlights that almost the majority of female adolescent was disclosed to tell other people about incidents of violence. Adolescents tend to feel self-blame and consider that the violent behavior happened because of their fault. Methods: This article was obtained from 2018 to 2023. This research is a study using the Systematic Literature Review method. The search strategy used in this literature review is to use 4 databases, including Elsevier, Science Direct, Pubmed, Plos One, and Grey Literature. The interactions between the different determinants will be discussed. The design used in this study was a systematic review using the PRISMA 2009 flowchart, namely selecting articles that did not comply with the criteria for inclusion, screening, eligibility, and downloading of articles. Results: A total of 10 articles were analyzed, this study reveal that community-based risk management can reduce disaster risk and increase community resilience to disasters that occur as well as increase community capacity to prepare themselves and increase community knowledge about disasters. Conclusions: Communities need to be empowered in the role of disaster management in rural areas. Keywords: Community, Role, Disaster Risk Management, Rural

Abstract

Abstract

Circumcision or circumcision is a surgical procedure that involves removing all or part of the foreskin of the penis with the aim of keeping the vital area clean so that it is not easily infected. By 2020, 85% of boys will be circumcised, equating to around 8.7 million boys annually. The circumcision rate will increase along with population growth in Indonesia. Most children who undergo circumcision will encounter obstacles such as fear, crying, refusing to enter the room and having to ask their parents to accompany them when they want to enter the room. This shows that there are fundamental problems in children who will be circumcised. Anxiety is one of the things a child will face before being circumcised. Anxiety can cause prolonged trauma, causing children to experience stressor crises. The cause of anxiety is pain and fear during the circumcision process. Often parents and medical personnel think this is trivial, but in fact if left unchecked it will have a serious impact on the child's mental condition. Distraction therapy is an example of therapy that can help reduce a child's anxiety about circumcision. Children who are circumcised will naturally feel afraid and anxious, so play therapy is carried out to reduce these feelings of anxiety. This therapy involves diverting attention to the child who will be circumcised. The goal is to change the child's orientation and thinking, which was initially focused on circumcision, towards the proposed therapy. This will create a feeling of security and comfort, thereby helping the circumcision process run smoothly.
