Abstract

Early age is a golden opportunity for children; therefore, early age is called the golden age for children. At this age, the child has extraordinary abilities, so it is good to be developed optimally. It is the golden age for the child to learn and acquire the language without neglecting other aspects. This is done in Komunitas Anak Shalih Tanjung Morawa. While in the Komunitas Anak Shalih, early childhood children at the educational institution are familiarised with hearing the names of objects and conveying them using Arabic. But in the acquisition of Arabic, they do not have a framework standardisation as a reference. Let's call it one of the CEFR. This study will answer questions related to the process of acquiring Arabic for early childhood in the Komunitas Anak Shalih and their speaking skills according to CEFR levels. This study uses a qualitative naturalistic approach using an embedded case study design model or case study. Data collection techniques are observation, interviews, and documentation, with data analysis to reduce data, present data, draw conclusions, and verify. The results found that early childhood language acquisition in the Komunitas Anak Shalih used behaviourism theory, and their speaking skills were at the rudimentary A1 level (PreA1) based on the CEFR.

Abstract

Motivation and attitudes in Arabic language learning are critical factors in determining student success, especially for final-year students preparing to become professional Arabic teachers. This study examines these factors using Gardner's Attitude/Motivation Test Battery (AMTB) framework in the unique context of the boarding system at STAI As-sunnah Deli Serdang, Indonesia. A sequential explanatory mixed-methods design was employed, combining a quantitative AMTB survey (n=120 students, 66.67% of the population) with in-depth qualitative interviews (n=12). Results revealed high levels of both instrumental motivation (M=4.5, SD=0.55) and integrative motivation (M=4.17, SD=0.68). Religious factors emerged as the strongest influence on instrumental motivation (M=4.7, SD=0.48). Key findings revealed the significant role of the boarding system in shaping positive learning attitudes (M=4.2, SD=0.68) through consistent Arabic language exposure and intensive peer interactions. Factor analysis identified five key influences: boarding environment (0.856), teacher quality (0.789), learning facilities (0.745), peer support (0.723), and curriculum (0.698). The implications of this research emphasize the importance of fostering immersive language environments and leveraging religious contexts in developing positive motivation and attitudes in Arabic language learning. The findings are particularly relevant for Islamic higher education institutions preparing prospective Arabic teachers, providing empirical evidence of the boarding system's effectiveness in enhancing students' Arabic competency. The results extend the application of the AMTB framework in Islamic higher education contexts and offer valuable insights for designing more effective Arabic language learning programs.

Abstract

This community service activity addresses the gap between vocabulary acquisition and writing proficiency in Arabic language learning among students at Madrasah Ar-Rabbaniyyah Darul Ikhlas Lilbanat, Malacca, Malaysia. Employing a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach, this study identified key challenges in Arabic language learning and implemented innovative strategies to overcome them. The findings indicate that using interactive methods, visual materials, and graduated learning approaches effectively enhanced student motivation and comprehension. However, resource and time constraints remain significant challenges. This research highlights the importance of a holistic and contextual approach to Arabic language instruction within Islamic educational institutions, considering linguistic, pedagogical, and socio-cultural factors. The implications of this study encompass the need for appropriate learning material development, continuous teacher training, and technology integration in Arabic language education.

Abstract

This study maps the global research landscape of the halal industry (2013–2023) through bibliometric analysis, identifying thematic priorities, collaboration gaps, and opportunities for academic institutions offering Islamic economics programs. Using Scopus data analyzed via VOSviewer and Mendeley, 1,156 publications were systematically reviewed. Co-occurrence, overlay, and density visualizations were employed to decode thematic clusters, temporal trends, and research gaps. The analysis reveals three key insights: (1) Dominance of halal food (53 occurrences) and tourism (26) research, overshadowing emerging sectors like halal pharmaceuticals (2); (2) Geographic concentration in Malaysia (15), Indonesia (4), and Turkey (3) with limited cross-border collaboration (82% single-country publications); (3) Critical gaps in sustainability integration, non-Muslim market studies, and technology ethics.Practical implications: For Indonesian universities, these findings highlight the urgency to (a) redesign curricula emphasizing understudied sectors (e.g., halal fintech, ESG compliance), (b) foster international partnerships to overcome regional fragmentation, and (c) bridge doctrinal compliance with SDGs through applied research. This study is the first to systematically link halal industry bibliometrics with Islamic economics education strategies, offering a roadmap for curriculum innovation and global academic leadership.

Abstract

This research aimed to probe into the implementation of Daurah Mukatssafah program. As in introductory lens, the mastery of Arabic language competence is the primary basis for students taking study programs at tertiary institutions with Arabic as the language of instruction, both in Arab countries and abroad. Meanwhile, not all students have sufficient basic Arabic skills as an initial state to understand the materials presented in the classroom. As a solution, several tertiary institutions provide language preparation programs for students, but these must be completed within 1 to 2 years. The intensive learning model carried out for three months at the As-Sunnah Islamic College as a pilot program is thought to be able to replace the language preparation program with equally effective results. This research used a qualitative naturalistic approach where the research was carried out naturally following the program implemented in the field without manipulating the existing variables. Furthermore, the data were described and compared objectively with data from existing language preparation programs. Daurah Mukatssafah was carried out in two main activities. First, learning the Arabic book Baina Yadaik starting from volume 1 to 6, intensively in classes guided by several lecturers in each class. Second, language mastery used a language immersion model outside the classroom. The results found a significant increase in students' Arabic proficiency, equivalent to 1-year learning outcomes in the Language Preparation Class.
