Abstract

Effective teacher training programs are critical to the quality of education systems worldwide. Comparison of teacher training programs between countries, known as international benchmarking, provides valuable insight into best practices and areas for improvement. This research aims to conduct an international benchmarking study to examine and compare teacher training programs in various educational systems. The research methodology chosen for this study was a Systematic Literature Review (SLR), which was used to understand the basic principles of Islamic education and their practical application in the Indonesian context. The data used in the SLR approach comes from scientific literature found in academic databases and other reliable sources of information. The analytical process in this research includes a thorough and systematic synthesis of related literature using a qualitative approach. The findings of this research reveal the diverse landscape of teacher training programs in various countries. Successful programs often emphasize practical classroom experience, ongoing professional development, and alignment with the specific needs of students and society. Challenges include limited resources, variations in program quality, and adaptation to rapidly evolving educational technologies and pedagogical approaches. This research underscores the importance of international benchmarking to inform and improve teacher training programs worldwide. Lessons from diverse education systems can guide policymakers, educators, and stakeholders in designing more effective and responsive teacher training initiatives. By promoting best practices and addressing common challenges, this research contributes to improving the overall quality of teacher education and, consequently, the quality of education itself in diverse global contexts.

Abstract

This research aims to explore the potential for community empowerment through bee cultivation activities, especially in the context of increasing youth creativity. Bees not only provide economic benefits through honey production, but also have the potential to strengthen social networks and increase the creativity of the younger generation. This research method includes participatory surveys, in-depth interviews, and field observations to collect data on beekeeping practices and their impact on society, especially youth. Data analysis was carried out using a qualitative approach to understand the complex dynamics of interactions between bee cultivation, community empowerment and the development of youth creativity. The research results show that beekeeping not only provides additional income for people, but also increases their understanding of the environment and ecology. Additionally, these activities encourage collaboration between older generations and youth, creating space for the exchange of knowledge and skills. In the context of youth creativity, participation in beekeeping is identified as a stimulus that encourages youth to develop creative, innovative and leadership thinking skills. Youth involved in these activities show an increase in new ideas, the courage to take risks, and the ability to adapt in facing challenges. This research presents theoretical and practical contributions by detailing the potential for community empowerment through beekeeping as an innovative way to increase youth creativity. Policy implications and practical recommendations are also discussed to support further development of this empowerment model in the context of beekeeping in communities.

Abstract

In many countries, MSMEs are often faced with various obstacles such as limited capital, limited access to markets, and lack of managerial skills. Providing stalls for MSMEs can be an effective strategy in helping them expand their market reach and increase product visibility. The aim of this service is to assist MSMEs through providing stalls to improve the community's economy. The method used in this service research is the ABCD method. From the results of this research discussion, it can be concluded that mentoring MSMEs through the provision of stalls has a positive impact in improving the community's economy. Lapak not only provides opportunities for MSMEs to expand market reach and increase sales, but also creates closer relationships between business actors and consumers, which can contribute to the development of local communities.

Abstract

Access to quality primary education is a critical component of a nation's development, with implications for social equity and economic progress. This study aims to compare educational policies and practices in primary education across multiple countries, focusing on assessing access and equity. Engaging with magazines, articles, or books to gather research data constitutes the qualitative methodology employed in this study. The data collection approach adopted in this research involves utilizing the literature review method. Technical and source triangulation were implemented to ensure the data's validity. The data analysis technique follows the model proposed by Miles and Huberman, encompassing four stages: data collection, data reduction, data display, and drawing conclusions. The findings reveal significant variations in primary education policies and practices across countries. Successful strategies include targeted financial support for marginalized communities, teacher training programs, and curriculum adaptations that address local needs and cultures. This study underscores the importance of examining and learning from the experiences of different countries to improve access to quality primary education and promote equity. The identified successful strategies can inform policymakers, educators, and stakeholders in designing and implementing more effective policies to ensure all children have equal access to quality primary education. The study ultimately contributes to a broader understanding of the global pursuit of equitable and accessible primary education.

Abstract

In today's increasingly globalized world, international collaboration in higher education has become essential for universities and institutions seeking to enhance academic excellence, foster cultural exchange, and address global challenges. However, effective international collaboration in higher education faces a myriad of challenges and offers numerous opportunities that warrant thorough investigation. This research aims to explore the challenges and opportunities associated with international collaboration in higher education within the context of a globalized world. The primary objective is to provide insights into the complexities and potential benefits of such collaborations. A mixed-methods approach was employed to gather data for this study. Quantitative data were collected through surveys and analysis of existing literature on international collaboration in higher education. Qualitative data were obtained through interviews and case studies of universities engaged in international partnerships. The research also involved a comparative analysis of policies and practices across diverse higher education systems. The findings reveal that international collaboration in higher education presents both challenges and opportunities. Challenges include navigating cultural differences, ensuring academic quality and standards, managing logistical complexities, and addressing funding and resource constraints. Opportunities encompass expanding access to global knowledge resources, fostering diverse perspectives, enhancing research productivity, and preparing students for a globally interconnected workforce. International collaboration in higher education is a multifaceted endeavor that demands careful planning, effective communication, and strong institutional commitment. While challenges are inherent, the potential benefits for universities, faculty, and students are substantial. This study underscores the importance of addressing these challenges proactively and leveraging the opportunities presented by international collaboration to advance higher education in a globalized world. As universities continue to engage in cross-border partnerships, a better understanding of the complexities involved will contribute to more successful and impactful international collaborations.

Abstract

In recent years, there has been a paradigm shift in understanding the role of MSMEs in the global economy. MSMEs are no longer considered local business entities but agents of change that can stimulate sustainable economic growth. This service research aims to make a real contribution to designing MSME empowerment strategies that have a broad impact, open up new opportunities, and positively affect global economic welfare. The method applied in this community service activity is community-based Research (CBR) using the forum group discussion (FGD) approach in the training and mentoring process. So, it is concluded that the empowerment of MSMEs proves its effectiveness in identifying, overcoming, and providing concrete solutions to their challenges. Involving business actors in decision-making and empowerment processes provides a solid foundation for sustainable growth. Training, mentoring, and support from the government and local communities form a supportive ecosystem in improving global economic welfare through developing MSMEs. Second, findings related to product innovation from natural resources, such as coconut and fish, show great potential in diversifying MSME businesses and opening up new opportunities in the global market.

Abstract

Increasing urbanization and technological developments have triggered significant transformations in urban land management, especially in Indonesia's Smart City. This study aims to formulate and implement land optimization strategies by developing attractive tourist destinations in Smart City, Indonesia. This community service research method uses the ABCD (Asset Based Community Development) method, which prioritizes valuable aspects owned by a community, better known as an asset-based approach, with five stages: Discovery, Dream, Planning, Define, and Destiny. The results provide a comprehensive view to support the development of tourist destinations responsive to smart cities in Indonesia, marking an important contribution to sustainable and innovative city development. So, it is concluded that developing smart and sustainable tourist destinations is crucial in maximizing land use in Indonesia's Smart Cities. The integration of smart technology, community participation, and environmental sustainability are key elements in creating tourist destinations that are not only attractive but also contribute to local economic growth and environmental preservation.
