Abstract

ABSTRACT Individuals in early adulthood face various developmental demands, including emotional, social, and financial independence, which require effective time management skills. However, many at this stage tend to procrastinate, negatively affecting their productivity and psychological well-being. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of time management training in improving students’ ability to manage time effectively. The training employed a participatory and experiential learning approach consisting of five sessions: introduction, goal setting, time management techniques, self-control, and closing. Participants included 15 undergraduate students aged 18–21 from Malahayati University. Data were collected using a 33-item time management questionnaire administered in pre-test and post-test sessions. The paired samples analysis showed an increase in mean scores from 97.92 to 99.54, although the improvement was not statistically significant (t = -0.586; p = 0.569 0.05). The correlation between pre- and post-test scores was moderately strong (r = 0.668; p = 0.012). Qualitative findings revealed increased engagement, self-awareness, and practical application of time management strategies in daily life. Therefore, the program was effective in enhancing time management awareness and skills among early adults, potentially reducing procrastination through strengthened self-regulation. Keywords: Time Management, Procrastination, Self-Efficacy, Early Adulthood, University Students.

Abstract

Background: Student subjective well-being (SSWB) reflects how students evaluate their quality of life at school. Student-teacher relationships and academic performance are important factors that may contribute to students’ subjective well-being. Purpose: To examine whether student–teacher relationships and academic performance predict subjective well-being among senior high school students, both simultaneously and individually. Method: A descriptive-analytical cross-sectional design and multiple linear regression analysis. The study was conducted at Senior High School 1 Padang Cermin, Pesawaran Regency, Lampung Province, Indonesia, with data collected offline on 10 April 2026. The accessible population comprised 623 active students in Grades X and XI from a total school enrolment of 932 students across Grades X–XII; Grade XII students were not included because they were no longer engaged in active classroom learning. A total of 254 students participated through quota sampling based on grade level, with the final sample comprising 128 Grade X (50.4%) and 126 Grade XI (49.6%) students. The sample size was not derived from a named Slovin, Cochran, or G*Power calculation; rather, it was justified by the adequacy of the sample for multivariate analysis and the number of eligible students accessible during data collection. Data were collected using the SSWQ, S-TSRI, and Academic Performance Scale. Results: Student–teacher relationships and academic performance jointly predicted subjective well-being, explaining 16.9% of its variance, F = 26.775, p < .001. Academic performance was a significant individual predictor, β = .408, t = 7.062, p < .001, whereas student–teacher relationships were not, β = .060, t = 1.037, p = .301. Conclusion: Academic performance significantly predicted students’ subjective well-being, whereas student–teacher relationships did not make a significant unique contribution after academic performance was included in the model. Abstract

Background: The increasing participation of women in the workforce has led to multiple-role demands, particularly among married female teachers, which may affect their work–life balance. Emotional intelligence and job stress are considered important factors influencing work–life balance. Purpose: To examine whether emotional intelligence and job stress predict work–life balance among married female elementary school teachers. Method: This quantitative correlational study involved 106 married female elementary school teachers recruited through convenience sampling. Participants were recruited from elementary schools in Kemiling District, Bandar Lampung, Indonesia. Data were collected using the Work–Life Balance Scale, Emotional Intelligence Scale, and Job Stress Scale. Data were analyzed using multiple regression analysis. Results: The findings indicated that emotional intelligence and job stress significantly contributed to work–life balance among married female teachers. Emotional intelligence showed a positive contribution, whereas job stress demonstrated a negative contribution to work–life balance. Conclusion: Higher emotional intelligence and lower job stress were associated with better work–life balance. School-based support and stress-management initiatives may help teachers manage competing work and family responsibilities. Abstract

Background: High school students in coastal communities may experience academic, psychological, and socioeconomic challenges associated with their quality of school life. Purpose: To examine the simultaneous and individual associations of parental socioeconomic status and internalizing–externalizing behaviours with student subjective well-being. Method: This quantitative cross-sectional correlational study involved 248 Grade X and XI students at Senior High School 1 Padang Cermin, Lampung, recruited through quota sampling. Data were collected using the Student Subjective Well-Being Questionnaire (SSWQ), a socioeconomic status index adapted from the Kuppuswamy scale, and the Youth Internalizing and Externalizing Problems Screener (YIEPS). Results: The overall regression model was statistically significant, indicating that parental socioeconomic status and internalizing externalizing behaviours were jointly associated with student subjective well-being. Conclusion: Internalizing externalizing behaviours were more strongly associated with lower student subjective well-being than parental socioeconomic status in this sample. The limited variation in socioeconomic status may partly explain its nonsignificant association. These findings suggest that school-based psychological support and early behavioural interventions may help improve students' subjective well-being.
