Abstract

The global issue of environmental degradation necessitates education that fosters environmental awareness among students from an early age. Green living is an effective learning approach to cultivate students' environmental concern while simultaneously developing their independence. This study aims to analyze the development of environmental awareness among elementary school students through the economic green living approach, which applies the 5R principles: refuse, reuse, recycle, reduce, and replant. This research employs a descriptive qualitative method, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The collected data were analyzed using the interactive model by Miles and Huberman, which involves data reduction, data presentation, and continuous conclusion drawing. The results reveal that the implementation of the 5R principles among students includes activities such as waste recycling, greening, reusing discarded items, waste reduction, and rejecting plastic bags. The process cultivates characteristics such as independence, responsibility, discipline, creativity, and collaborative skills. This study concludes that the economic green living approach, utilizing the 5R principles, is effective in shaping students’ environmental awareness while equipping them with life skills relevant to addressing environmental sustainability challenges.

Abstract

SMPN 1 Tulakan is one of the Sekolah Penggerak in Pacitan Regency. This school requires the assistance of a learning community and the implementation of differentiated learning. The activities carried out as a solution to the problems of SMPN 1 Tulakan are training and mentoring for differentiated learning through lesson study-based learning communities. This training was carried out for 3 months June-August 2024. The participants were 32 teacher in SMPN 1 Tulakan. The approach used is participatory by involving teachers directly in theory and practice. The result of this activity was the teacher's achievement in understanding the learning community material, 83% really understood and 17% said they understood. Teachers' achievement in understanding differentiated learning material was 90% very understanding and 10% understanding. The results of the questionnaire on achieving understanding of the concept of lesson study showed that 87% of teachers really understood and 13% of teachers understood. In general, as many as 90% of teachers are able to apply the concept of differentiated learning and lesson study in class according to their role as model teachers or as observers. The conclusion of this community service program is that teachers understand material related to learning communities, differentiated learning and lesson study. Teachers are able to implement lesson study to activate the learning community of SMPN 1 Tulakan. Teachers increase their competence in practicing differentiated learning through lesson study at SMPN 1 Tulakan.

Abstract

Literasi digital dalam implementasi Kurikulum Merdeka menjadi komponen penting untuk dikembangkan.  Penelitian ini bertujuan meningkatkan literasi digital peserta didik kelas X SMAN 1 Jiwan melalui pendekatan STEAM terintegrasi Wordwall. Penelitian ini merupakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas di SMAN 1 Jiwan. PTK ini menggunakan STEAM dan Problem Based Learning (PBL). Media yang digunakan adalah Wordwall game pada materi perubahan lingkungan. Populasi adalah kelas X sebanyak 126. Sampel adalah kelas XB sejumlah 22 peserta didik. Teknik pengumpulan data dengan melakukan observasi literasi digital peserta didik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa adanya peningkatan literasi digital dari siklus 1 dengan peserta didik pada kriteria sangat baik memiliki persentase 27%, kriteria baik dengan persentase 50%. Kemudian pada siklus 2 mengalami peningkatan dengan kriteria sangat baik adalah 27%, kriteria baik menjadi 63%. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah pendekatan pembelajaran STEAM terintegrasi Wordwall mampu meningkatkan literasi digital peserta didik kelas XB pada materi perubahan lingkungan.

Abstract

Kemampuan berpikir kritis merupakan salah satu keterampilan abad ke-21 yang harus dikembangkan dalam pembelajaran Biologi di sekolah. Materi sistem ekskresi bersifat kompleks dan melibatkan proses fisiologis tingkat tinggi, sering kali menantang untuk dipahami secara konseptual. Pendekatan STEM dapat digunakan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah menganalisis penerapan pendekatan STEM pada pembelajaran Biologi materi sistem ekskresi untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik. Metode penelitian adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK), yang dilakukan di SMA N 1 Ngadirojo pada kelas XI MIPA 2 yang berjumlah 32 peserta didik. Penelitian dilakukan dua siklus pembelajaran. Teknik analisis data menggunakan deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian adalah terdapat peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis dari pra siklus ke siklus I sebanyak 24%. Peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis dari siklus I ke siklus II sebanyak 26%. Kesimpulan dari PTK ini adalah pendekatan STEM dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik kelas XI MIPA 2 SMAN 1 Ngadirojo. Rekomendasi untuk penelitian selanjutnya adalah adanya integrasi pendekatan STEM pada model pembelajaran tertentu dan implementasinya untuk meningkatkan kompetensi lain peserta didik.

Abstract

The scientific literacy of students in the animal diversity course has not met the criteria. Students are less concerned, passive, and do not dare to express their problem-solving comprehensively. The animal diversity course requires learning methods and learning resources to improve scientific literacy. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of inquiry learning on improving students' scientific literacy at Solo Safari. This research method is quantitative research with a quasi-experimental method. The research design uses pre and post-test results of students’ scientific literacy. The study population was 71 biology education students. The sample was 13 students who took the Animal Diversity course. The data taken is students' scientific literacy. The independent variable is inquiry learning at Solo Safari. The dependent variable is science literacy. The instrument used is a science literacy instrument, resulting in 15 valid statement items. Data analysis techniques were carried out with a paired sample t-test. N-gain score analysis was conducted to determine the effectiveness of science literacy. The results showed that the sig-value (2-tailed) = 0.000. The inquiry learning model affects students' scientific literacy. The inquiry learning model can improve students' scientific literacy. The result of the N-gain score on science literacy is 0.62 with moderate criteria. There is a significant increase in understanding of science literacy after students take part in learning with the inquiry approach. The conclusion of this study is, inquiry affects improving students' scientific literacy at Solo Safari. The application of inquiry in Solo Safari can increase students' scientific literacy in the moderate category. The implications of this study can be used as basic research to choose the right learning model for animal diversity courses. Science literacy instruments can also be used for various biological studies and other materials.

Abstract

Desa Wakah mempunyai komoditas utama ketela pohon/singkong dan hasil pertanian hortikultura. Di Desa Wakah terdapat UMKM “Gethuk Anyar” yang memproduksi gethuk singkong dalam skala besar, yang menghasilkan limbah kulit singkong rata-rata 80 kg per hari. Limbah kulit singkong belum banyak dimanfaatkan secara optimal sehingga menimbulkan bau busuk, penumpukan sampah, dan lingkungan yang tidak bersih. Tim pengabdian masyarakat akan melakukan pelatihan pemanfaatan limbah singkong menjadi produk berupa pupuk kompos, pupuk organik cair dan pakan fermentasi. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Maret dan April 2020 dengan peserta sebanyak 30 orang dari karang taruna desa Wakah. Kegiatan dilaksanakan dengan pemberian materi, diskusi dan praktik langsung dengan pendekatan partisipatif. Hasil dari kegiatan ini adalah karang taruna Desa Wakah mampu memanfaatkan limbah  kulit  singkong  menjadi  produk  pendukung agrikultura berupa pupuk kompos, pupuk organik cair, pakan fermentasi. Tingkat pemahaman serta skill karang taruna Desa Wakah dalam mengolah limbah kulit singkong menjadi produk pendukung agrikultura sebanyak 85% dan menenuhi target penelitian. Masyarakat juga berkomitmen untuk mengembangkan produk secara mandiri. Sinergisitas antara masyarakat, pemerintah dan dunia industri diharapkan mampu meningkatkan pemberdayaan masyarakat dalam mengolah limbah kulit singkong menjadi produk yang bermanfaatKata Kunci: fermentasi, kulit singkong, pupuk organik. Wakah Village Community Empowerment Through Utilization of Cassava Peel Waste (Manihot esculenta)ABSTRACTDesa Wakah has cassava and several horticultural products as its main commodity. There is a homemade production "Gethuk Anyar" which produces “Gethuk Singkong”, a kind of traditional foods, on a large scale. As the consequences, this production brings cassava peel waste approximately up to 80 kg per day. This waste has not been used optimally, thus it causes foul odors, garbage buildup, and a polluted environment as well. Based on that problem, the researchers conduct some training programs on the utilization of cassava peel waste into several products namely: compost, liquid organic fertilizer, and fermented food for animal. This activity was carried out between March and April 2020 with 30 participants from the Karang Taruna (youth) group. Those programs consist of providing materials, facilitating discussions, and conducting workshops with a participatory approach. The result of the programs shows that Wakah community was able to utilize cassava peel waste into three agricultural supporting products; those are: compost, liquid organic fertilizer, animal fermented food. In addition, the value of participants’ understanding and skill in processing the waste was up to 85% and it meets the standard research target. Moreover, the community is also committed to develop products independently. The synergy between Wakah community, the local government and the industry workplace is expected to increase community empowerment activities in processing cassava peel waste into some useful products.Key Words: fermentation, cassava peel, organic fertilizer.

Abstract

Students at SMAN 1 Singosari continue to demonstrate limited problem-solving skills and cognitive learning outcomes, partly due to contextually irrelevant media and reliance on LCD projectors. This study aimed to evaluate the validity and practicality of "Digestopia", an audiovisual, website-assisted electronic board game developed using the RICOSRE model (Reading, Identifying problem, Constructing solution, Solving the problem, Reviewing the problem solving, and Extending problem solution) and integrated with the SDGs' Zero Hunger initiative (Sustainable Development Goal 2: Zero Hunger). The development process adopted the Lee and Owens instructional design model, which consists of four stages: analysis, design, development, and evaluation. Data were collected using expert validation sheets and student response questionnaires and analyzed using descriptive quantitative techniques to determine the average scores. The results showed that "Digestopia" was valid (90.6%) and practical (86.7%) for classroom use, indicating its potential as an interactive learning tool.

Abstract

The learning outcomes of Biology subjects in the Kurikulum Merdeka lead to mastery of competencies, materials, and process skills. Biological material is more abstract, teachers must be creative when using teaching media to visualize concretely. Learning media developed by researchers is board games with the name RESTARD (Respiratory Smart Card). The objectives of this study is to find out the form of development of the Board Game Respiratory Smart Card (RESTARD) in Human Respiratory System Material that is valid and feasible for biology learning.  The method of the research is a Research and Development (R&D) using 4-D instructional design. The population for the practicality test was all class XI of SMAN 6 Madiun, totaling 360 students. The sample for this research was class XB with a total of 72 students. Data collection techniques were carried out using interviews, filling out validation sheets from material and teaching media experts, and filling out practicality questionnaires by students. The result of this research is that the development of the RESTARD board game on respiratory disorders has been successfully carried out. RESTARD consists of 6 main types of cards, namely organ cards, O2 cards, CO2 cards, sneezing cards, breathing cards, and sick/health cards. The validation results from media experts stated that the RESTARD card media received an average score of 93 with the criteria very valid for use. The results of the material expert validation stated that the RESTARD card media received an average score of 91 with criteria very valid for use. The practicality in small class showed that 91 score with very practicality. Result in large class show that the average of score is 94, with very practicality. The conclusion is RESTARD media is declared valid, practical and can be used to support learning of respiratory system material.

Abstract

The diversity of plants in Indonesia means that many plants have the potential to be used as medicine by the community. Because of its potential as a medicine, many people do not know about it, so it is important to study it. The use of medicinal plants by the community has been passed down from generation to generation, so there is still a lack of documentation regarding the use of medicinal plants. This study aims to identify medicinal plants in the Saradan Kesatuan Pemangkuan Hutan (KPH) area as well as the utilization of plants that are often used as medicine by the community in the Saradan KPH area. The research was conducted in March 2022. Ethnobotanical data were collected using the roaming method and the structured interview method using ethnobotanical interview sheets. Identification of medicinal plants using the help of books on medicinal plants by Widyaningrum. The selection of respondents was carried out randomly, according to the study, which documented 32 species of medicinal plants from 18 families. The most commonly found families of medicinal plants are the Zingiberaceae and Euphorbiaceae families. The leaves are the most useful part of the plant. and the method of treatment with medicinal plants is mostly done by boiling and pounding. The medicinal plant diversity documented in KPH Saradan village is 32 species. Ocimum basilicum L., Alpinia Galanga L. Willd., Zingiber officinale Rosc., and Curcuma domestica Val. medicinal plants that are most widely used by the community around KPH Saradan.

Abstract

Kabupaten pacitan memiliki komoditas flora laut yang potensial. Salah satunya adalah E. acoroides. Pemanfaatan E. acoroides sebagai sumber bahan kimia dan obat-obatan membutuhkan pengolahan yang tepat sehingga mampu tahan dalam waktu yang lama. Salah satu proses yang biasa diberikan adalah proses pemanasan untuk memperlambat proses kimia dan biologi pada bahan, sehingga bahan menjadi tahan lama. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen.Tahapan penelitian meliputi pengambilan dan preparasi E. acoroides, pembuatan serbuk seresah E. acoroides, analisa kualitas serbuk seresah E. acoroides yang meliputi analisa kadar air, kadar abu, kadar lemak, dan kadar pati.  Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah proses pengeringan dilakukan dengan 2 cara yaitu menggunakan oven dan sinar matahari. Proses pengeringan menggunakan oven yang berlangsung pada suhu yang tinggi menyebabkan terjadinya case hardening, yaitu bagian permukaan bahan pangan sudah kering sekali bahkan mengeras sedangkan bagian dalamnya masih basah. Kualitas kelayakan hasil produksi serbuk seresah lamun dengan metode pengeringan sinar matahari kadar air 14,76%, kadar abu 18,83%, kadar pati 9,88% dan kadar lemak 0,54%.  Pengeringan menggunakan oven kadar airnya 23,66%, kadar abu 19,39%, kadar pati 8,73% dan kadar lemak 0,74%.
