Abstrak Literasi Informasi telah menjadi keterampilan penting pustakawan di era global saat ini. Informasi keaksaraan bagi pustakawan tidak hanya ditandai melek dan hanya untuk membacanya. Tetapi aplikasi mempunyai nilai lebih. Pustakawan harus menjadi manajer ilmu. Pustakawan harus bergerak sesuai dengan perubahan teknologi terus bergerak maju dan pustakawan harus mampu beradaptasi sebagai pencari dan pemberi informasi dalam bentuk apapun. Saat ini pustakawan dituntut tidak hanya perawatan terampil dari buku atau jenis media lainnya, tetapi juga untuk menguasai literasi informasi. Dengan demikian, pustakawan harus memiliki komitmen dan sadar untuk mengakses, memahami dan menggunakan informasi yang dikumpulkan untuk dikomunikasikan kepada orang yang membutuhkan.AbstractInformation Literacy has become important skill of librarians in today's global era. Information literacy for librarians not only marked a literate and just to read it. But the application is more. Librarians must be a manager of science. Responding to this, the librarian must be run in accordance with the changing technology continues to move forward and librarians should be able to adapt as a seeker and giver of information in any form. Nowadays librarians are required not only skilled care of a book or other media types, but also to master the required search information literacy. Thus, librarians should have commitment and conscious in order to access, understand and use the information gathered to be communicated to people in need.

Salah satu tugas pustakawan adalah menyampaikan informasi. Dalam menjalankan tugasnya ini pustakawan atau staf di perpustakaan membutuhkan seorang pemimpin untuk mengarahkan. Keberadaan seorang pemimpin adalah hal yang sangat urgent dalam sebuah organisasi, bahkan terdapat asumsi bahwa jika tidak terdapat seorang pemimpin maka sebuah organisasi tidak akan berjalan sebagaimana mestinya. Dalam makalah ini penulis mencoba mengidentifikasi kualifikasi pemimpinan yang efektif di perpustakaan. Penulisan makalah ini menggunakan studi literatur. Berdasarkan analisa yang dilakukan, penulis menemukan bahwa kualifikasi pemimpin yang efektif di perpustakaan tergabung kedalam 3 hal, yaitu: visioner dan motivasional; memiliki kemampuan untuk menunjang pekerjaannya; dan memiliki kepribadian pemimpin. ABSTRACT One of the librarians duties is to convey information. In carrying out this task librarian or library staff need a leader to steer. The existence of a leader is very urgent in an organization, there is an assumption that even if there is no a leader organization that will not run properly. In this paper the authors try to identify effective leadership qualifications in the library. Writing this paper uses literature study. Based on the analysis, the authors found that the qualification of an effective leader in library incorporated into the 3 things: visionary and motivational; has the ability to support their work; and has the personality of a leader.

Akses terbuka adalah satu-satunya cara untuk mendigitalkan arsip yang ada sehingga setiap orang atau sekelompok orang dapat menggunakannya tanpa batasan karena menyediakan sarana akses ke arsip. Beberapa subdivisi kelompok otot kaki penyelenggara telah memudahkan masyarakat dalam memanfaatkan perpustakaan. Metodologi yang digunakan dalam karya ilmiah adalah metode kualitatif dengan penulisan deskriptif dan melalui kajian terhadap sumber-sumber primer sehingga setiap literatur atau literatur yang termasuk dalam karya ilmiah berasal dari karya-karya sebelumnya. Penelitian ini membuktikan manfaat keberadaan perpustakaan yang dibentuk menjadi sistem terbuka dan satu-satunya bentuk, sehingga dengan memanfaatkan teknologi yang berkembang perpustakaan tidak akan ketinggalan zaman.

In January 2017, the Medan Regional University Library (UMA) officially implemented an integrated automation system. The system is a migration from the old system that was used previously. Integrated library automation system using SLiMS Acacia version 8.3.1. With the implementation of this integrated automation, users can borrow, return, and expand their loan collection from the Medan University (UMA) branch library. Automated systems can also improve service quality and bring libraries closer to users. This study uses qualitative methods to conduct descriptive research. Descriptive research describes a picture or painting in a systematic, correct, and accurate manner, describing the facts, and the nature of the relationship between the phenomena studied. The technique of collecting data and information about all collections by researchers is in the form of observations by University librarians in the Medan area. The purpose of this research is to communicate to users what library materials the library has, provide bibliographic information, and document the characteristics of each library material, which are needed to identify and distinguish one library material from another. This will certainly help in the search for library collections, and the catalog serves as an important search tool. Keywords: UMA Library, Integrated Library System.

The progress of data systems in the current global era is very meaningful because at this time an institution or industry is not free from the use of PCs as a tool to help process information. Data systems using very advanced and modern PC technology will make it easier for us to carry out information processing that can save time, space and costs. This research uses a qualitative research approach. In terms of terminology for Baydan and Taylor, a qualitative approach is a research method that produces descriptive information in the form of recorded words or words. This research shows that UINSU has carried out the development of a library data system, namely the digital library of UIN North Sumatra. The Digital Library application used by the UIN North Sumatra Medan library is an integrated application where each part of the management of bibliotech collections and consumer services is connected to each other. In order to realize library services that are carried out in an excellent and user-oriented manner, library collaboration is carried out. This library collaboration serves to provide wider access to collections, improve user and technical services, and increase activities in various resources. Technological developments have an impact on document products and the content of information contained in them varies. In addition to the library network, there is also an information network whose members do not limited to the library, but also information units outside the library such as documentation centers, data banks, information analysis centers, and referral centers. The library's ability to grow is constrained by the times. The internet is progressively taking the place of libraries as a source of knowledge, starting with a poor mainset community and moving on to the library, internal ill-preparedness, and even paired with its presence. Based on these factors, this study aims to give a general overview of how the library can overcome internal issues by implementing internal knowledge management solutions as a catalyst for development, with notabene serving as the primary force behind the library's readiness to take on the challenge. The technique employed in this analysis of literature from several scientific sources include books and journal articles both in print and online. The findings of this study demonstrated that knowledge management can be used as a solution because it is essentially knowledge management applied to overcome unpreparedness or internal problems. By capturing knowledge stored by employees, knowledge management serves as a tool for both internal and external improvements, acting as a spark for ideas on problems faced. The first step in knowledge management to remove barriers from the library is to find people who share your perspective and give librarians opportunity and visibility to participate in managerial operations. The second is the procedure for managing activities like the creation of a community of practice for knowledge sharing and training. However, it must include specific actions like scheduling, discussion points, and the product that will be produced. The technology to create a knowledge management portal, which can only be accessible internally through the intranet, is the third item on the list. In order to reduce the likelihood that libraries would be unprepared to handle the difficulties of the information age, it is suggested that the library follow the following outcomes as routinely as feasible. Collaboration between libraries is carried out in order to build outstanding library services that focus on users. This library collaboration aims to increase activity across multiple resources, expand user and technical services, and enable wider access to the collection. Policy strategies, human resource development (HR), correlation, resource sharing, and information technology are some examples of cooperative development strategies. There are several variables that encourage and hinder the implementation of this collaboration. Increasing customer demand, technological advances, and continuous use are some of the elements that make this possible. Domestic library cooperation network is intended as a type of network that occurs in libraries so that cooperative relationships between other libraries are established in an effort to fulfill what is needed by users so that they can satisfy users and the purpose of library services can be achieved. The method used to carry out this research is to conduct a literature study which is further developed in a qualitative descriptive form so that the contents of the journal will provide a more in-depth explanation. Meeting the information demands of users absolutely requires collaboration between libraries. The purpose of this research is to find out the value and necessity of library collaboration as well as the challenges that must be understood in order to successfully complete this collaborative activity. This essay is organized logically and is presented based on various sources. Because it is expected that no one library has a complete collection, cooperation with other libraries is needed, so the principle of collaboration between libraries is practiced. In addition, the following library collaboration tools can be used in collaboration: index, abstract, master catalog, magazine master catalog, bibliography, and master catalog.
