Abstract

This community service journal article discusses the practice of silaturahmi (social bonding) and the tradition of halal bi halal within Javanese society as part of the Eid al-Fitr celebration. These traditions represent a unique form of integration between Islamic values and longstanding local customs. Using Robert Redfield's theoretical framework of great tradition and little tradition, this article highlights how Islam, as a great tradition, did not replace local cultures, but instead blended harmoniously with the little traditions of the Javanese people. Eid al-Fitr in Java is celebrated with an atmosphere of joy, festivity, and togetherness—often perceived as more vibrant than in Islam’s place of origin. This distinctiveness stems from the culturally sensitive approach of early Islamic scholars and missionaries in Java, who avoided imposing radical changes on local traditions. Instead, they subtly and wisely revived ancient customs by integrating them with Islamic teachings. One notable outcome of this approach is the tradition of halal bi halal, a social innovation that has become a key cultural institution during Eid. It strengthens social bonds, reconnects families and communities, and serves as a medium for reconciliation. Through this lens, the article illustrates how the cultural and religious fusion can foster harmony and enrich religious practices without losing local identity. These findings offer meaningful insights for promoting tolerance and inclusivity in a pluralistic society.

Abstract

The rapid recovery of the tourism sector in the post-pandemic era has increased the need for sustainable tourism development at the local level. Local governments have a strategic role in ensuring that tourism growth is able to provide economic benefits while maintaining social and environmental sustainability. However, various empirical evidence shows that the implementation of sustainable tourism policies at the regional level is still uneven and often faces institutional challenges and coordination between stakeholders. This study aims to analyze the role of local governments in encouraging sustainable tourism development and identify strategies for optimizing these roles in the current governance context. This research uses a qualitative descriptive approach with a policy and stakeholder analysis framework. Data was collected through document analysis of regional tourism policies, development plans, and relevant secondary data sources, and analyzed using thematic analysis techniques. The results of the study show that local governments generally play the role of regulators and facilitators, but the effectiveness of these roles is still limited by limited institutional capacity, weak collaboration between stakeholders, and the lack of optimal integration of sustainability principles in operational practices. This research also identifies opportunities to strengthen governance through collaborative planning, community empowerment, and the implementation of adaptive policy instruments. The study contributes to the development of the literature by highlighting the gap between policy formulation and implementation at the regional level and offering an integrative framework for optimizing the role of local governments in sustainable tourism development. The findings of this study provide strategic implications for policymakers in strengthening sustainable tourism governance at the regional level.

Abstract

Purpose: Teacher-child interactions in early childhood education are often shaped by pedagogical practices that lack integration with child development psychology and legal frameworks for child protection. This study aims to develop a conceptual framework that integrates developmental psychology principles with legal regulations to guide quality teacher-child interactions in early childhood settings. Methodology: This qualitative study employs a library research approach, analysing secondary sources including academic literature on child development, early childhood pedagogy, and relevant legal frameworks governing child protection and early childhood education. Results : The analysis resulted in a conceptual framework comprising three core components: input (teacher knowledge of child development and legal standards), process (integration of developmentally appropriate pedagogy with child protection principles), and output (safe, rights-based, and quality interactions). The framework proposes implementation strategies through structured observation, reflective practice, professional supervision, and capacity-building training. Conclusions: The proposed conceptual framework offers a systematic approach to strengthening teacher-child interactions by bridging developmental psychology and legal regulations. While developed through library research, the framework requires empirical validation in early childhood education contexts. It provides a foundation for policy development and professional training programmes aimed at improving interaction quality while ensuring compliance with child protection standards.

Abstract

Background: Treatment of mental illness with pharmacotherapy is closely monitored in clinical centers. While in most developed countries, this practice is well established.. Objective: The purpose of this study was to analyze and investigate the handling of mentally ill patients at the Mental Health Center. Method: This research methodology uses simple quantitative methods to identify and evaluate prescription quantity and distribution. Result: Of the described drug therapies, while disorders were categorized according to the International Classification of Diseases-10R. According to the clinic, there were no significant changes in the route of drug administration (p > 0.11). Almost, two-thirds of the prescribed drugs were essential (66.1%). Considering the therapeutic drug classes, more than half were antipsychotics (53.2%), while the percentages of 17.2% and 13.8% were anticholinergic drugs and anxiolytics/hypnotics. These drug classes were 84.2% of the total drugs used Conclusion: Conclusions on the use of effective drugs with low safety such as clozapine. The implementation of drug prescribing practices needs to be considered by stakeholders, for future strategies in the selection and provision of psychopharmacology.
