Abstract

Hypertension is the main cause of premature death worldwide. Hypertension has become a global, regional, national, and local public health problem. The World Health Organization (2023) estimates that 1.28 billion adults aged 30-79 years worldwide suffer from hypertension. The prevalence of hypertension will continue to increase sharply. In 2025, it is predicted that around 29% of adults worldwide will suffer from hypertension. Hypertension has caused the deaths of around 8 million people each year. 1.5 million deaths occur in Southeast Asia, where one-third of the population suffers from hypertension (WHO, 2011). Hypertension requires proper self-management and health literacy in handling it. .Objective: The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between health literacy and hypertension management behavior in the hypertension group in the Pacellekang Health Center work area, Gowa Regency. Methods: This research was conducted in the working area of Pacellekang Health Center, Pattallassang District, Gowa Regency, South Sulawesi Province on June 21 – July 21, 2023. Correlational anality descriptive research design using a cross-sectional study approach. The population in this study was 165 people. Sampling technique using non-probability sampling with purposive sampling technique. The sample obtained is 128 people. Data collection used the HELIA Questionnaire (Health Literacy Instrument for Adults) and the HBP-SCP Questionnaire (High Blood Pressure-Self Care Profile). The analysis tests used in this study were univariate and bivariate. The bivariate analysis in this study was by using the Chi-Square Test. The results showed that the majority of respondents had low health literacy with a percentage of 56.3% and the majority had poor hypertension management behavior with a percentage of 54.7%. The results of the bivariate test using the Chi-Square test with a significance value of 0.006 <0.05, so that the better a person's health literacy, the better his hypertension self-management behavior. The conclusion of this study is there is a significant relationship between health literacy and hypertension management behavior in the community in the Pacellekang Health Center work area, Gowa Regency. Suggestions for research locations so that they can increase posyandu and prolanis activities while also implementing health promotion on GERMAS and CERDIK as a form of increasing interest in controlling hypertension for the community. Abstract

Nursing students need effective learning methods to improve their abilities and skills in achieving competency. Virtual care reality in 360o videos is an alternative solution to a real and concrete learning method. This study aims to determine the effect of virtual care reality in 360o (VCR 360o) videos on compliance with standard precautions in nursing professional students. The study used a randomized control trial with the sample of 32 students for each group was obtained through a random sampling technique. This research was conducted at two state universities in Indonesia in 2022 and provided an intervention in the form of a 360o VCR for 17 minutes at least three times in each video containing material on standard precautions. A standard precautions compliance questionnaire was employed to investigate the main variable with a further analysis using paired t-test and independent t-test. The results of the study showed that there was a significant effect of the VCR 360o on increasing standard precautions compliance among students (p = 0.004). The research results are expected to be applied in the learning process of nurses in tertiary institutions and other learning topics.

Abstract

Assessment of meat physical quality is the way to choosing meat. Pre slaughter time is one method to restorate livestock (including poultry) prior to deductions so that animals do not wage for too long at the time of slaughter. This study aims to determine the effect of pre slaughter fasting on the quality of meat produced. This study using 24 samples of broiler chickens. The sample is divided into 4 groups where group 1 without treatment; group 2 4 hours of fasting; group 3 8 hours of fasting; and group 4 12 hours of fasting. The parameters include specific gravity, pH, color, tenderness, and water holding capacity. The result of this study found that fasting on broiler chickens up to 12 hours did not give a significant effect on specific gravity, tenderness, and water holding capacity. Pre slaughter fasting until 12 hours only gives effect to pH and color of meat. The fasting time is 8 - 12 hours before slaughter not recommended because it has the biggest pH possible to get pale, soft, exudative (PSE) .

Abstract

Background: Current learning methods continue to develop, nursing students need effective learning methods to improve students' abilities and skills in achieving competencies, one of which is fulfilling human needs: oxygenation. Virtual care reality in 3600 video can be a real and concrete alternative learning method solution for students.Method: This research aims to determine the effect of virtual care reality in 3600 videos on skills in fulfilling basic human needs: oxygenation in nursing students. The research used a quasi experimental pre-post test design using a control group. The intervention group was given treatment in the form of Virtual Care Reality in video 3600 (VCR 3600) for 15 minutes at least three times in each video. VCR 3600 contains material about fulfilling basic human needs for oxygenation including suction, use of nasal cannulas, masks (Non-Rebreathing Mask/NRM and Rebreathing Mask/RM). Post-test measurements were carried out two weeks after the VCR 3600 intervention was carried out for the internalization phase first. The benefit of this research is that it is hoped that the VCR 3600 will be able to improve skills in fulfilling basic human needs: oxygenation in nursing studentsResults: The results of this study show that respondents are aged 18 - 20 years, with a median value of 19 years. The gender of the respondents was mostly female, the majority of respondents had never studied suction, the majority of respondents had never had experience studying material about administering oxygen therapy. The mean skills of suctioning and oxygen administration of respondents after the intervention in the intervention and control groups both increased. The results of further analysis showed that there was no significant difference in skills after the intervention between the intervention group and the control group (p value < 0.05).Conclusion: The results of the study showed that there was an increase in the skills of respondents after the intervention regarding suction and administering oxygen with standard precautions. Although there is no statistical effect of the VCR 3600 method on suctioning and oxygenation skills, the use of this method has the opportunity to increase students' knowledge and be used as a variation of practical learning methods.

Abstract

Students' behavior in certain situations is generally influenced by environmental and cognitive factors, especially cognitive factors related to academic self-efficacy that they are able or unable to perform satisfactory actions. Because of having academic self-efficacy in the learning process, students will be motivated to achieve better academic achievement. Academic self-efficacy is one of the physiological aspects that affects a student’s success because self-efficacy has an impact on students’ choices, problem solving, and persistence in achieving goals. This study is descriptive correlational approach, it investigated the relationship between academic self-efficacy and the study time of undergraduate nursing students. The results indicated that the students' self-efficacy is relatively high, the relationship between academic self-efficacy and the study time is not significant, which means that academic self-efficacy does not effect on the study time of students.

Abstract

The research result shows that jurisprudence in Indonesia as source of law although judges were not bound with the present jurisprudence, it was because Indonesia take up the system of civil law. The position of jurisprudence becomes very crucial in a country which takes up civil law as source of law like in Indonesia, especially when regulation is not suitable with the real situation or does not adjust faced case. Role of jurisprudence in the renewal of Islamic family law in Indonesia is a fact. It can be seen in some decisions in Supreme Court who published new law regulation such as Decisions of Supreme Court No. 137 K/AG/2007 about giving money in iddah time to a wife who demanded for divorce, Decisions Number 266 K/AG/2010 about shared wealth, Decisions No. 86 K/AG/1994 about equality between son and daughter in hampering uncle to receive legacy,  Decisions Number 16 K/AG/2010 about giving wajibah legacy to non moeslem wife.. Besides, before Islamic Law Compilation was arranged, jurisprudence had showed the roles in creating law which consisted renewal of Islamic family law. Even jurisprudence is also source of reference in formulating articles of Islamic law Compilation as INPRES No. 1 in 1991.

Abstract

Toxocariasis is a zoonotic disease caused by infection with the parasitic worm Toxocara cati, which commonly infects cats and can be transmitted to humans. This study aimed to identify the presence of T. cati in cats through macroscopic and microscopic examination of fecal samples. Samples were collected from post-operative cats exhibiting clinical signs such as lethargy and decreased appetite, with adult worms observed in their feces. Examination was conducted using the flotation method with a saturated salt solution. The results revealed the presence of adult T. cati worms with distinct morphological features, including cervical alae on the anterior end and a curved posterior end. Additionally, round-shaped eggs with thick, rough brownish walls were identified. These findings highlight the importance of routine parasitological examinations and regular deworming to prevent the spread of toxocariasis. Maintaining environmental hygiene and feed quality also plays a crucial role in controlling this disease.
