<![CDATA[This study discusses the collection management strategy of the Deli Serdang Regency Library and Archives Service. The purpose of the study was to determine the strategy for procurement of collections and the obstacles faced in procuring collections at the Department of Library and Archives of Deli Serdang Regency. This type of research is a qualitative research with a descriptive approach. The technique used in data collection is by conducting observations, interviews, and documentation. While the data analysis technique is done by doing data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of this study indicate that the implementation of the procurement of collections at the Library and Archives Service of Deli Serdang Regency begins with planning by conducting a survey to visitors and providing a complaint box so that the collections owned are relevant to the needs of users. Organizing in the procurement of collections is done based on the job description. Implementation of collection procurement is done through purchases with publishers and through donations not on request. Supervision in the procurement of collections is carried out by the Head of Service who is assisted by the Head of Division and supervision of the collections owned is carried out by officers in the field of procurement of library materials. Evaluation is done by matching the evaluation is done by matching library materials with statistical data that has been recorded. Constraints faced in procuring collections are budget deficits.]]>

<![CDATA[This research discusses measuring the quality of library services at the Muslim Nusantara Al Washliyah University of Medan using the Libqual method. The aim of the research is to determine the service quality of the Muslim Nusantara Al Washliyah Medan University Library based on three libqual dimensions, namely Affect of Service, Information Control and Library as Place. This type of research is quantitative research with a descriptive approach. The data collection technique in this research was carried out through distributing questionnaires. The sample in this study was 3,159 users of the Nusantara Al Washliyah Medan Muslim University Library from 2021, who were limited using the Slovin formula, so the number of respondents was 97 people. The sampling technique in this research used non-random accidental sampling. The results of this research show that service quality is based on the Affect of Service aspect, users are quite satisfied with the quality of library services or have met the minimum expectations of users with a positive adequancy gap (AG) at a score of 0.03 and the quality of library services is considered good but has not met ideal expectations. what the user wants or is in the tolerance zone with the superiority gap (SG) being negative at a score of -1.01. Based on the Information Control aspect, users are quite satisfied with the quality of library services or have met the minimum expectations of users with a positive adequancy gap (AG) at a score of 0.05 and the quality of library services is considered good but has not met the ideal expectations desired by users or is in the tolerance zone with the superiority gap (SG) being negative at a score of -1.07. Based on the Library as Place aspect, users are quite satisfied with the quality of library services or have met the minimum expectations of users with a positive adequancy gap (AG) at a score of 0.16 and the quality of library services is considered good but has not met the ideal expectations desired by users or is in the zone tolerance with superiority gap (SG) is negative at a score of -1.11.]]>

<![CDATA[This research aims to find out the causes of the decline in visitor interest at the Tanjung Balai City Library and Archives Service, the strategies implemented by the Tanjung Balai City Library and Archives Service to encourage users' interest in coming to the library, find out what obstacles are faced by the City Library and Archives Service Tanjung Balai in arousing interest in visiting the library. This type of research is qualitative research with a field approach. The subjects of this research are librarians who work at the Tanjung Balai City Library and Archives Service and the community around the library. The data collection techniques used include observation, interviews and documentation. The data analysis technique used is based on descriptive analysis, namely data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. From the results of research conducted by the author, it can be concluded that the cause of the decline in interest in visiting the Tanjung Balai City Library and Archives Service is the lack of incomplete facilities and infrastructure and a lack of public awareness about the importance of reading books to increase knowledge. Furthermore, the strategy used by librarians to increase interest in visiting visitors is to create various activities including mobile libraries and several literacy competitions, which are very helpful in attracting people's sympathy for reading.]]>

<![CDATA[The purpose of this research is to find out how librarian tactics encourage library use and increase interest in visits. in the Deli Serdang regional library, to find out the causes of the low interest in visiting public libraries in Deli Serdang and the challenges of librarians in encouraging public library patronage in Deli Serdang Regency. This type of research combines field study methodology with qualitative research. Librarian The research topic is the Deli Serdang Regency Public Library. There are three techniques used to obtain data: observation, interviews, and documentation. Data presentation, data reduction procedures, and data analysis methods were all carried out in accordance with descriptive analysis. Based on the research results, the author can determine librarian tactics to encourage increased interest in visiting libraries in the Deli Serdang regional library, including by conducting mobile library activities, holding reading competitions for the community. Furthermore, knowing the lack of library collections, facilities and infrastructure, as well as inadequate library services is one of the factors causing the low interest in visiting public libraries in Deli Serdang. Librarians also face challenges in efforts to increase interest in visiting the Deli Serdang Regency public library.]]>

<![CDATA[Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi keterpakaian koleksi di Dinas Perpustakaan dan Arsip Daerah Kota Tebing Tinggi. Evaluasi keterpakaian koleksi penting untuk dilakukan karena dapat digunakan untuk mengetahui pemanfaatan koleksi di perpustakaan, kegiatan evaluasi terhadap bahan pustaka perlu dilakukan agar dapat mencapai tujuan tersebut. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian kuantitatif yang berupaya memberikan deskripsi tentang keterpakaian koleksi pustaka di Dinas Perpustakaan dan Arsip Daerah Kota Tebing Tinggi. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode evaluasi koleksi berdasarkan penggunaan (use-centered). Untuk memperoleh data peniliti menggunakan metode dokumentasi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diketahui bahwa keterpakaian koleksi di Dinas Perpustakaan dan Arsip Daerah Kota Tebing Tinggi masih rendah, dengan rata-rata peminjaman bulanan yang tidak sebanding dengan jumlah koleksi yang ada. Penyebab utama rendahnya keterpakaian koleksi adalah kurangnya koleksi yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan informasi pengguna dan promosi pelayanan perpustakaan yang belum optimal.Kata kunci: Evaluasi Koleksi, Keterpakaian, Analisis Koleksi, Perpustakaan Daerah, Tebing Tinggi]]>

<![CDATA[Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengetahuan, kemampuan, faktor yang mempengaruhi serta hambatan yang dihadapi mahasiswa IAIN Padangsidimpuan dalam memanfaatkan Institutional Repository (IR). Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif, menggunakan teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data yaitu reduksi data, penyajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa IAIN Padangsidimpuan lebih banyak mengetahui Institutional Repository (IR) dari Word of Mouth Communication daripada melalui kegiatan User education, ini berarti melalui Word of Mouth Communication ini efektif dalam menyampaikan informasi.Kemampuan mahasiswa IAIN Padangsidimpuan dalam memanfaatkan Institutional Repository (IR) adalah mampu dilihat dari pencarian informasi menggunakan pencarian spesifik lebih dominan menggunakan pencarian berdasarkan subyek dan divisi. Faktor yang mendorong mahasiswa IAIN Padangsidimpuan memanfaatkan Institutional Repository (IR) kemudahan dalam akses, efisien waktu, fitur-fitur yang mudah dipahami, memenuhi tugas kuliah, pandemi Covid-19 dan open access. Hambatan yang dihadapi mahasiswa IAIN Padangsidimpuan dalam memanfaatkan Institutional Repository (IR) yaitu repository yang tiba-tiba error, kuota/jaringan mahasiswa IAIN Padangsidimpuan. Dari temuan ini dapat diketahui bahwa perpustakaan terkhususnya perpustakaan perguruan tinggi harus lebih meningkatkan pelatihan, workshop yang kreatif dan inovasi tentang Institutional Repository.]]>

<![CDATA[This thesis discusses the utilization of reservoir collection services at the Syekh Ali Hasan Ahmad Addary Padangsidimpuan State Islamic University Library. The aim to be achieved from this research is to find out how the reservoir collection service is utilized in the library of the Syekh Ali Hasan Ahmad Addary Padangsidimpuan State Islamic University. This research uses descriptive methods with a qualitative approach. By using data collection techniques, namely through observation, interviews and documentation. The informants in this research were librarians at the Syekh Ali Hasan Ahmad Addary Padangsidimpuan State Islamic University library. The results of this research show that the use of reserve collections (tandon) in the library of the Syekh Ali Hasan Ahmad Addary Padangsidimpuan State Islamic University. Reserve collection is a service for the use of textbooks which can be used as a reserve if the collection of textbooks provided in the circulation room has been borrowed by users. Reserve collections can only be photocopied. Its use cannot be loaned, it can only be read on the spot.]]>

<![CDATA[Electronic Journal is a term used to describe scientific papers published in digital form that can be accessed using the internet. This study aims to determine the pattern of utilization and inhibiting factors in utilizing the printed and electronic journals of Cambridge and Emerald by users at the UPT Library of the State University of Medan. This type of research is qualitative with a descriptive approach. Data collection techniques used were interviews, observation and documentation, then data analysis techniques used three stages, namely, data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing. This research was conducted at the UPT Library of the State University of Medan. The results of this study indicate that in the use of printed and electronic journals, Cambridge and Emerald have been used by users in their daily needs to serve as references in fulfilling lecture assignments, research reports, and seeking the latest information. There are several obstacles faced in utilizing the printed and electronic journals of Cambridge and Emerald such as the internet network, accuracy in determining the subject, electronic journals that were found to be unsubscribed and in English.]]>

<![CDATA[This study discusses the library strategy of SMK Negeri 1 Stabat in the application of SLiMS automation to library services and activities, as well as the obstacles faced in carrying out the SLiMS implementation strategy in the library. This study uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. The results showed that the SLiMS implementation strategy in the library of SMK Negeri 1 Stabat had three stages, where the initial stage was the procurement process for the SLiMS system, the implementation stage was the implementation process in the library, and the third stage was the evaluation stage, namely assessing deficiencies in the SLiMS system. The obstacles faced are network, space, and human resources (HR) problems.]]>

<![CDATA[This research aims to uncover how the views of religious figures and political figures shape public assumptions towards women’s leadership in government The method used is a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through in-depth interviews with purposively selected religious and political figures. These two groups were chosen because of their important role in shaping opinions and influencing social discourse in society.The results show that the discourse on women’s leadership is still largely overshadowed by conservative religious interpretations and deeply rooted patriarchal social constructs Religious figures generally express caution or even reject women’s leadership, referring to normative textsunderstood literally. Meanwhile, the views of political figures are more diverse—some openly support it based on women’s capacity and contribution in government, while others still view women as symbolic complements in politics.Public discourse on women’s leadership is largely determined by the legitimacy granted by religious and political figures When these two authorities tend to maintain traditional gender interpretations, the opportunities for women to be substantively accepted in leadership become limited. Therefore, reconstructing the discourse and the active involvement of these figures in promoting narratives of equality are key to opening up a more inclusive and gender-just space for power.]]>
