Abstract

Penelitian ini  bertujuan  untuk mengembangkan bahan ajar tentang asam basa berbasis socio scientific issue. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu Developmental Research (DR) dengan menggunakan metode Four Steps Teaching Material Development (4S-TMD). Tahap dari pengembangan bahan ajar meliputi 4 tahap yaitu seleksi, strukturisasi, karakterisasi dan reduksi didaktik. Pengembangan tahap seleksi ini meliputi kesesuaian indikator dengan label konsep, kebenaran konsep asam basa menggunakan sumber buku teks terstandar, kebenaran konteks konten dan kebenaran konteks pedagogik berbasis socio scientific issue yang dapat dikaitkan dengan konsep asam basa.  Hasil  tahapan seleksi ini dievaluasi oleh dosen ahli. Hasil penelitian tahap seleksi ini menunjukkan bahwa bahan ajar yang dikembangkan sesuai dengan tuntutan kurikulum, konteks konten  yang disajikan sesuai dengan aspek socio scientific issue yang dikembangkan valid. Bagian  pertama pengembangan bahan ajar yang meliputi langkah-langkah tahap seleksi ini menghasilkan rancangan bahan ajar asam basa berbasis socio scientific issue.

Abstract

Dalam menghadapi era Society 5.0, dunia pendidikan memiliki peran penting dalam meningkatkan kualitas Sumber Daya Manusia. Kegiatan pembelajaran harus dapat membangun kecakapan-kecapakan hidup Abad 21, literasi, dan pengembangan karakter. Pemanfaatan teknologi dalam pembelajaran sangat dibutuhkan untuk menarik perhatian dan motivasi peserta didik karena peserta didik yang kita hadapi saat ini (Generasi Z) memiliki keterikatan yang sangat kuat dengan media digital dan teknologi. Oleh sebab itu, Program Studi Pendidikan Kimia dan Kimia FPMIPA UPI mengadakan kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat dengan memberikan pelatihan kepada para guru Kimia SMA untuk meningkatkan kompetensi guru dalam merancang pembelajaran yang inovatif untuk menghadapi tantangan pendidikan di Era Society 5.0. Kegiatan pengabdian ini berupa pelatihan yang melibatkan 50 Guru Kimia. Kegiatan dilaksanakan secara terstruktur dan sistematis dengan mengombinasikan motode daring dan luring dengan alokasi waktu setara dengan 32 JP. Kegiatan pelatihan terdiri atas tiga tahapan meliputi pemaparan materi, pengembangan dan implementasi rancangan pembelajaran inovatif, serta pelatihan penulisan karya tulis ilmiah. Pada kegiatan ini para guru memanfaatkan laboratorium virtual dan bahan ajar berbasis video dalam pembelajaran. Berdasarkan hasil implementasi penggunaan laboratorium virtual dan bahan ajar berbasis video dapat meningkatkan motivasi, partisipasi, dan pemahaman peserta didik. Dari data hasil implementasi para guru berhasil menuliskan artikel ilmiah yang nantinya akan dipublikasi pada jurnal nasional. In the era of Society 5.0, education has an important role in improving the quality of Human Resources. Learning activities must be able to build 21st Century life skills, literacy, and character development. The use of technology in learning is really needed to attract students' attention and motivation since the students are Z Generation which have a strong attachment to digital media and technology. Therefore, the Chemistry Education and Chemistry Study Program FPMIPA UPI conducted a Community Service by providing a training to high school chemistry teachers to increase teacher competency in designing an innovative learning to prepare education in the Era of Society 5.0. This activity takes the form of training involving 50 Chemistry Teachers. The activity is carried out in a structured and systematic training by combining online and offline methods with a time allocation equivalent to 32 hours. The training activities consisted of three stages including presentation of material, designing, and implementing an innovative learning activity, as well as training in writing academic papers. In this activity the teachers utilized virtual laboratories and video-based teaching materials in learning. Based on the implementation, the use of virtual laboratories and video-based teaching materials can increase students' motivation, participation, and understanding. From the implementation data, the teachers succeeded in writing academic articles which will be published in a national journal.

Abstract

Literasi sains dan keterampilan berpikir merupakan kemampuan yang sangat diperlukan pada masyarakat modern. Terdapat berbagai masalah yang hanya dapat diselesaikan dengan melibatkan kedua hal tersebut. Namun peningkatan kedua kemampuan tersebut bukanlah hal yang mudah. Salah satu metode yang telah terbukti dapat digunakan untuk meningkatkan hal aspek tersebut adalah Pembelajaran Berbasis Masalah (Problem Based Learning, PBL). Metode PBL telah dilaporkan untuk dapat meningkatkan berbagai aspek dalam kemampuan peserta didik pada banyak topik, termasuk sifat koligatif larutan. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan literasi dan keterampilan berpikir kritis pada guru dengan harapan hal ini meningkatkan kompetensi mereka sehingga dapat meningkatkan kualitas luaran peserta didik. Kegiatan pengabdian dilakukan dalam waktu setara dengan 32 jam kegiatan (JP) yang terdiri atas 8 jam kegiatan daring synchronous, 8 jam kegiatan luring, dan 16 jam kegiatan daring asynchronous. Luaran yang dihasilkan dari kegiatan ini salah satunya adalah berupa Rencana Pelaksanaan Pembelajaran (RPP) pada topik sifat koligatif larutan yang berbasis pada PBL. Para peserta lokakarya memperoleh masukan terkait konten dan metode pembelajaran yang dapat diterapkan di sekolah mereka masing-masing, sedangkan tim pelaksana memperoleh komentar dan saran yang dapat menjadi bahan pertimbangan untuk kegiatan berikutnya.Scientific literacy and critical thinking are essential skills that in modern society. There are myriads of problem that solvable if only if those skills are used. However, increasing those skills is not an easy task. One method that have been proven to work is using Problem Based Learning (PBL). This method has been reported to increase several aspects and skills in students in many topics including colligative properties. This community service program aims to increase scientific literacy and critical thinking skills in teacher with the hope that it could increase the outcome of the learning qualities. The program executed with the equivalent of 32 hours (JP) total of program time. The program is split into 8 JP of online synchronous program, 8 JP of offline program, and 16 JP of online asynchronous program. One of the expected outputs of the program is PBL based learning plan (Rencana Pelaksanaan Pembelajaran, RPP) on the topic of colligative properties. Participants of this workshops are given input on the contents and learning methods that then can be used in their own school while the organizers’ team are given comments and input that can then implemented for the improvement of the program.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to make laboratory-scale bioethanol from agroindustrial waste, namely rice husk through hydrolysis, fermentation, and distillation methods, determine %yield, and characterize bioethanol. The method used was experimental. The results and conclusions obtained are bioethanol that smells like tape, colorless with %yield as much as 3,32%, density of 0.8818 g/mL, viscosity of 0.7408 cP, and blue flame formed during the flame test. Based on the characterization results, the bioethanol obtained has not met the SNI standards, which is suspected because it still contains water content caused by less pure ethanol from the distillation process.

Abstract

The exponential growth in printed circuit boards (PCBs) waste, presents an urgent environmental and economic challenge. PCBs contain silver which has a high potential economic value. The high production of waste and the potential economic value make it important to recycle PCB waste. Recycling can be conducted by leaching silver using Deep Eutectic Solvent (DES). DES is environmentally friendly and able to form complexes with various types of metals. This research aims to study the effect of the HBD carbon chain length of oxalic acid, malonic acid, and succinic acid from choline chloride-based eutectic solvents (DES) on the efficiency of leaching silver from Printed Circuit Board (PCB) waste. Optimization of the solid/liquid ratio, time, and temperature is carried out to obtain optimum leaching conditions. The synthesis results show that DES oxaline 2:1, malin 1:1, and succilin 2:1 have good stability, forming a colorless, clear, and viscous solution. FTIR analysis shows a shift in the wave number of the -OH group due to hydrogen bond interactions between HBA and HBD molecules in the formation of DES. The leaching yield of DES against standard silver oxide was measured using AAS. DES oxaline 2:1 has the greatest efficiency compared to other DES variations. The results of optimizing standard silver leaching with DES oxaline showed that the S/L ratio was 40 mg/mL, with a time of 18 hours, at a temperature of 60°C which resulted in a recovery percentage of 90.90%, while for the PCB waste sample yielded an efficiency of 99.38%. The eutectic solvent oxaline has the potential to be an environmentally friendly solvent that is efficient in leaching silver from PCB electronic waste.

Abstract

Tujuan utama penelitian ini adalah untuk menentukan formulasi yang dapat memberikan keseimbangan terbaik antara kekuatan mekanik, ketahanan terhadap air, dan laju degradasi. Penelitian ini dirancang menggunakan metode eksperimental dengan formulasi pati limbah kentang sebagai bahan utama (1.5%, 2.5% dan 3.5% b/v), penambahan kitosan, gliserol sebagai plasticizer, serta asam sitrat sebagai agen crosslinking. Proses pembuatan bioplastik dilakukan dengan metode casting, dimana larutan pati dan kitosan dicampur bersama gliserol dan asam sitrat, kemudian dicetak dan dikeringkan pada suhu terkontrol hingga terbentuk lembaran film bioplastik. Karakterisasi material meliputi pengukuran ketebalan, laju transmisi uap air (WVTR), biodegradabilitas, kekuatan tarik, dan elongasi. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan konsentrasi pati berpengaruh pada kenaikan ketebalan film dan kekuatan tarik, namun cenderung menurunkan nilai elongasi. Laju transmisi uap air menurun seiring peningkatan kandungan pati, mengindikasikan peningkatan kemampuan sebagai penghalang uap air. Semua variasi bioplastik terurai dalam tanah lembap dalam waktu relatif singkat. Formulasi pati 3.5% menunjukkan karakteristik terbaik dalam hal kekuatan mekanik, dan sifat penghalang uap air, sehingga dinilai paling potensial untuk aplikasi kemasan pangan.

Abstract

This study aims to explain the need for teaching materials in the culinary arts vocational school which will be developed using the 4S TMD method. This research is based on the problem of not integrating chemistry subjects in supporting vocational subjects with culinary skills competence. So there are no teaching materials that are relevant to the competence of culinary expertise. The data collection instrument used was the relevance format between chemical content and vocational content. This type of research is descriptive with a qualitative approach. The subjects in this study were two lecturers of chemistry education, two teachers of applied science, and three teachers of productive culinary arts who acted as validators. The results of this study became the basis for researchers in developing chemistry books using the 4S TMD method on applied science teaching materials for chemistry relevant to vocational skills in culinary skills.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the level of environmental literacy of students. Research using descriptive quantitative research methods. The respondents of this study were 110 class XII students at SMA Negeri 6 Wajo. The data collection technique uses environmental literacy instruments based on aspects of environmental literacy by NAAEE (North American Association for Environmental Education) consisting of cognitive aspects, attitude, and behavior. Measurement of cognitive aspects using questions while aspects of attitudes and behavior using a questionnaire with a scale Likert. The results showed that the environmental literacy of class XII students at SMA Negeri 6 Wajo as a whole (71.3%) was in the medium category with details of cognitive aspects (50.0%) being in the medium category, attitude aspects (84.1%) being in high category and behavior (78.7%) is in the high category.

Abstract

This study aims to obtain information about students' critical thinking skills (CTS) through the application of the project based learning (PjBL) model on reaction rate material in the context of making liquid organic fertilizer (LOF) from bamboo shoots. The method used is an experimental method with a one-group pretest-posttest design. This study uses one class with a total of 27 students. The instruments used were observation sheets on the implementation of learning and tests of critical thinking skills which consisted of 15 multiple-choice questions. Test result data were processed using the N-gain test and paired sample t-test. The results showed that the application of the PjBL model in the context of making LOF from bamboo shoots obtained a learning implementation percentage of 85.4 and was included in the very good category. In addition, the CTS of students as a whole experienced an increase of 0.69 in the moderate category. The results of the paired sample t-test show that the significance value obtained is 0.000 <0.05 so it can be concluded that there is an increase in the CTS of students through learning.
