Abstract

Bijaksana, U. 2012. Snakehead Domestication, Channa Striata Blkr, Swamp Water Optimization Efforts in South Kalimantan Province. J. Lahan Suboptimal 1(1):92-101.This research aimed at domesticating snakehead in order to fulfill the consumption without relying on catch. This research was conducted in the Wet Laboratory of the Department of Aquaculture Faculty of Fisheries Banjarbaru from September to October 2006. Snakeheads caught in "beje 'were selected according to weight and size and then kept in concrete tanks. A total of 32 pairs were placed in the experimental tanks.Feed was served as much as 4% of bodyweight/day for 4 times/day. Observations were made at the beginning and end of the experiment which included concentration of E2, egg diameter, IGS, IHS and fecundity. The results obtained were as the followings: water enhancement was associated with the development of the IGS with r2 = 0.92 which was greater than that of the decrease in water with r2=0.55.Greater reduction in water was associated with IHS with r2=0.96 which was greater then that of raising the water with  r2 only 0.74. Increase of water associated with the concentration of estradiol-17 beta with r2=0.82 was greater than that of the decrease of water which was was only 0.55.The decline and rise of water were aasociated with the diameter of each egg with the r2=0.93 and 0.96. Enhancement of water associated with agreater effect on fecundity with the r2=0.74 while decreasing water with the r2=0.36. Several indicators of snakehead reproduction obtained from the experiment were found to be similar with those naturally occured. It was concluded that the snakehead’s gonad could be grown to reach maturity level in the container as a domestication process.

Abstract

Pergeseran fungsi sungai terjadi di Sungai Martapura. Masyarakat di pinggiran Sungai Martapura menggunakan sungai untuk mandi, mencuci, minum, memasak, tempat untuk buang air kecil dan buang air besar (BAB) serta tempat pembuangan sampah. Hal ini tentu saja mempengaruhi kualitas air Sungai Martapura. Tingkat perilaku masyarakat di desa/kelurahan yang terletak di bantaran Sungai Martapura diperoleh skor rata-rata 9,40 termasuk dalam kategori “sedang”, berarti akumulasi perilaku masyarakat dari skor pengetahuan, sikap dan tindakan diperoleh persentase 40% - 75%. Faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi perilaku tersebut dari tertinggi sampai terendah adalah Kepercayaan dan Kesiapan Mental, Faktor Pencetus, Latar Belakang dan Sarana. Hasil Uji Kualitas Air menunjukkan bahwa terjadi penurunan kualitas air Sungai Martapura pada hulu dan hilir sungai. Hal ini disebabkan karena aktivitas masyarakat di sepanjang Bantaran Sungai Martapura. Berdasarkan parameter H’ dan DO air Sungai Martapura berada pada kondisi tercemar ringan dan berdasarkan parameter warna, bau, rasa, pH dan TSS air Sungai Martapura tergolong dalam kriteria air bersih. Untuk menciptakan lingkungan yang bersih dan sehat terutama di Bantaran Sungai Martapura perlu peningkatan perilaku masyarakat yaitu mengubah dari perilaku sedang menjadi perilaku yang baik melalui pendekatan tokoh agama dan tokoh adat. Peran serta masyarakat diperlukan untuk menciptakan lingkungan yang bersih dan sehat mulai dari lingkungan terkecil yaitu dengan pengelolaan sampah rumah tangga berbasis masyarakat. Keuntungan pengelolaan sampah tersebut dapat berupa keuntungan ekonomi dan keuntungan non ekonomi berupa lingkungan yang bersih dan sehat.

Abstract

Research aimed to evaluate the reproduction status of snakehead in concrete tankand in natural swamp aquatic. Seven indicators can be made by knowing thesnakehead status indicator reproduction so that breeding manipulation in concretetank can be done. The seven indicators were gonadosomatic indexs, hevatosomaticindexs, body weight, liver weight, gonade weight, egg diameter, fecundity andestradiolthe snakehead in natural swamp aquatic show in Agust month was 3,3 ± 0.09 andhevatosomatic indexs was 1,1 ± 0.05 in Agust month. For gonadosomatic indexs andhevatosomatic indexs in concrete tank in April month was 3.6 ± 0.09 and Januarimonth was 1.0 ± 0.08, respectively. Result of measurement the fecundity and eggdiameter of the snakehead in concrete tank in Pebruary month was 2978.3 ± 7.64and 1.3 ± 0.00 mm respectively, The fecundity and egg diameter of the snakehead innatural swamp aquatic in Januari month was 3080.0 ± 7.91 and Nopember andDecember was 1.5 ± 0.04 mm respectively. The estradiolsnakehead in swamp aquatic show the higest concentration in natural aquatic.Average concentration estradiolpg/ml until December was 169.2 ± 6.22 pg/ml. In concrete tank from 80.5 ± 5.17pg/ml in Juli until 118.3 ± 6.78 pg/ml in April. In general it is concluded that thereproduction status of snakehead was similar between in concrete tank and naturalswamp aquatic. Enviroment ”trigger” was the limited factor in finally gonadematuration.

Abstract

This study aims to look at the effectiveness of injection of sGnRH-a + ad andheight of water on fish spawning snakehead, Channa striata in the concreat tank.The research was conducted at the Wet Laboratory Aguaculture Departement Faculty of Fisheries University of Lambung Mangkurat. There are two main factors as treatment namely: Factor A = dose of sGnRH-a + ad with three levels (A1 = 0.2 ml /kg; A2 = 0.4 ml / kg; A3 = 0.6 ml / kg) and factor B = height of water with three levels(B1 = 15 cm; B2 = 20 cm; B3 = 25 cm) made repeated 4 times to obtain 36 units of the experiment. Observations made on the parameters: body weight, gonad weight,liver weight, estradiol-17β, egg diameter, IGS, IHS, fecundity, fertilization andhatching degrees. The strongest relationship obtained from the treatment of observational parameter is IGS and IHS. Of treatment given the latent time of theobtained range between 12 hours to 25 hours, fecundity between 5047 to 5072grains, the degree of fertilization between 60 to 60.3 percent and 76.6 degrees fertilization between 83.9 per cent up. Developments after hatching body length of3.5 mm and 45.5 mm on day 20.

Abstract

The study is intended as an attempt domestication through climbing perch spawning in the container cultivation. The research was conducted at the Laboratory of Wetlands Program University Faculty of Fisheries Aquaculture Lambung Mangkurat.Three main points in support of the spawning success of fish, namely: gonadaldevelopment, ovulation and spawning. Naturally development climbing perch fishgonads occurred in the early dry season to peak season and at the beginning of the rainy season or during the rainy season, spawning occurred. This natural state is trying to be adopted in the cultivation of container, with fashting for 1, 2 and 3 days with water levels, 10, 15 and 20 cm. The result is a latent time of 11.7 hours to 39 hours, fecundity between 5310 to 7376 grains, egg diameter 0.5 to 0.8 mm, the degree of fertilization between 88.2 to 93.2 percent and the degree of hatching between 87, 0 to 91.6 percent.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the feed Arowana fish seed (Scleropagesformosos) after feeding egg yolk tobe variations between, mosquito larvae bloodworms-mosquito larvae(A), crickets-mosquito larvae-crickets(B), and bloodworms-crickets- blood worms(C), are maintained in the container cultivation.Overall implemented for ±5 months from January 2013 to May 2013 in the month of PT. Kresna Pusaka Tirta Lestari Jln. Kuripan. No. 19D RT. 33, Eastern District of Banjarmasin, Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan Parameters observed; Growth Relative Weight, Length Relative Growth, FeedConversion, Survival. Aperture mouth, Out of Egg Yolk longtime, and parameterWater Quality For Supporting Data.From the data obtained during the study relative weight of the highest growthratein treatment B (87.78%), and the lowest was intreatment C (83.98%). The mean length of the highest relative growth in treatment A (30.56%), and the lowest was intreatment C (30.44%). The highest feed conversion intreatment B (1,55%), and thelowest was intreatment A (0,59%). The highest survival rate in treatment A (93.33%),followed bytreatment B (91.52%), andthe lowest was intreatment C(86.67%). Theaverage opening mouth highest in treatment A (58.849), followed involves the B(54.922), and the lowest was intreatment C (51.413). Long arowana depleted eggyolks from the eggs pots(TBK) to egg a big body (TBB) is 13 days, from TBB to swimegg (TBR) 15 days, and from plain eggs to TBR 14 days, so the totalis 42 days. Waterquality during the study ranged between temperature 30-32° C, pH73.77, salinity 0.10- 0.18 ppt, and ammonia from 0.13 - 0.18mg/l .Based on the analysis of variance (ANOVA) on all treatments only on survivaland feed conversion were significantly different, followed by HSD test for survivaland Duncan test for feed conversion. Judging from the data is the best overall treatment A with variations of mosquito larvae-bloodworms-mosquito larvae.

Abstract

Snakehead and other fish species in waters of the swamp doing spawning at the beginning or in the middle of the rainy season. Gonadal maturation process so as to returntime is limited. Aquaculture development is highly dependent on the availability of seeds that meet the timeliness, quality and quantity. The seeds can be produced continuously if supported by the availability of mature broodstock with good quality eggs. Some research about the role of hormones and or the use of stimulants to the success in support of gonad development and spawning, such as; Siam Jambal fish, Pangasius hypophthalmus (Ernawati 1999), Catfish, Clarias batrachus (Zairin et al. 2001), and catfish, Hemibagrusnemurus (Supriyadi 2005). By because they were with potential to take advantage of folicle Stimulating Hormone (FSH) that serves as the control at the start of the reproductive cycle up to ovulation and spermiasi in fish. The aim of this study was to determine the effect ofthe injection folicle Stimulating Hormone (FSH) in the parent rematurisasi catfish. Results from the start 17007-52327 item, 0,63-1,07 mm egg diameter, IGS range of 4, 13 to8.50%, and ranged from 0.86 2.4% IHS. Based on the results of the study injection folicle Stimulating Hormone (FSH) capable shorten rematurasi processing time.

Abstract

Hatchery technology has been controlled but the technology is not maximized seed maintenance. Continuity seed in cultivation is indispensable. Vitamin C has a very big role in the physiology of fish primarily as an antioxidant and anti-stress and curcuma component containing a nutritious oil asitri. Curcumin stimulate liver cells to improveand facilitate the production and secretion of bile, there by improving digestion and accelerate gastric emptying.This study was conducted over five months starting from the preparation,execution, and reporting. This research was conducted in the village Mentaos, Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan. The parameters studied were weight growth, length growth, survival rate, feed conversion, protein retention and fat retention by using statistical test completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 3 replications.A treatment using commercial feed shrimp with the codes FL 0, treatment and use of commercial feed, thoroughly mixed with vitamin C brand Sido Muncul C1000 much as1000 mg / kg feed, treatment C using commercial feed FL 0 thoroughly mixed withginger 150 g / kg of feed, and D treatment using commercial feed FL 0 thoroughly mixedwith vitamin C as much as 1000 mg / kg feed and ginger 150 g / kg of feed.The results showed that the commercial feed was given vitamin C and curcuma provide survival rate value and the best feed conversion in post larval climbing perch. Best survival value 23.49% and feed conversion value of 0.51. The results of research into the use of vitamin C and curcuma can be recommended to farmers fish farmers to increase the value of the survival of post larvae climbing perch.

Abstract

The problem of the breeding of the snakeskin gouramy management was theinsufficient maximum degree of hatching eggs which only reached 80.03 %. One of the ways to overcome the problem was to improve the quality of eggs through the improvement of quality of feed given to the mothers of snakeskin gouramy withsupplements and food additives. This study aimed to evaluate the reproductive response of female snakeskin gouramy against the addition of supplements and feed additive, suchas: fish oil, vitamin E and extracts of ginger. The tested fish was female snakeskin gouramy with a minimum age of 8 months and were at maturity level of TKG I or TKGII. The Food used in this study were 3 kinds of commercial feed with the addition of vegetable oil (FCO), the feed with the addition of fish oil and vitamin E (FOT) and the feed with the addition of fish oil, vitamin E and extracts of ginger (FOTG).The results showed that FOT and FOTG could produce gonadosomatic index (GSI), fecundity, egg diameter, hatching eggs and survival rate better than the FCO feed.This occured presumably because of the effect of the addition of vitamin E that prevent edoxidation of fatty acids, so that fat could be used completely. As a result, the quality and quantity of eggs increased. GSI value on all treatments ranged from 3.07 to 3.57 %,fecundity ranged between 3,875 to 5,355 grains, egg diameter ranged from 0.70 to 0.93mm, hatching ranged from 78.12 to 89.58 % and survival rate ranged between 51 to 83 % in all treatments. Food with the addition of fish oil and vitamin E could produce better diameter of eggs and survival rate, while feed with the addition of fish oil, vitamin E and extracts of ginger could generate value gonadosomatic index (GSI), fecundity and hatching eggs higher.

Abstract

The Reproductive ability of parent fish which just finish spawming are common with stage I of gonadal maturity takes for a long time. Gonad may not mature if it is notgiven treatment. Doses of OODEV between 0,3 – 07 cc/kgs body weight give effect in inducing gonadal maturation.This Research shows that the highest fecundity was an average of 33190 eggs obtained from on Treatment C, and the largest egg diameter was an average of 0,7 mm also obtained in the treatment C. The highest HIS score was in treatment C (0,95%), while the highest IGS value obtained in treatment A (13,183%). The result of the Observations on the gonad histology climbing perch parent fish was the treatment with OODEV hormones caused the development of maturity level. Change in values and levelsof water quality were considered metting the standard for live fish climbing perch fish. The statistical test result on all the above test parameters showed that al was notsignificantly different among all treatment given; thus from the given hypothesis HO wasaccepted and H1 was rejected which means that OODEV injection dose did not significantly affect the maturation procces. The treatmen with OODEV was more than the level without the use of OODEV Hormones (Control). This is because of the role of the FSH in OODEV Hormone influenced the development of biosytesis of estradiol -17 betha and gonad.
