Abstract

Purpose:This study aims to formulate appropriate strategies for BMT El Mentari to survive and compete amidst the increasingly intense competition among Islamic financial institutions, particularly in the Purwokerto region.Design/methodology/approach:This research employs a qualitative method with a case study approach. Data collection techniques include interviews, observations, and documentation. Strategic analysis is conducted using the SPACE Matrix, which maps the organization's position into one of four strategic quadrants.Research Findings:Based on the SPACE Matrix analysis, BMT El Mentari is positioned at coordinates (1.10; 1.25), placing it in the aggressive strategy quadrant. This indicates that BMT possesses strong internal capabilities and significant external opportunities to leverage.Contribution/Originality/Novelty:This study contributes by applying the SPACE Matrix as a practical strategic analysis tool for Islamic microfinance institutions, resulting in a relevant strategic roadmap tailored to the local context.

Abstract

In facing the increasingly complex dynamics of business competition, Islamic microfinance institutions such as BMT Dana Mentari Muhammadiyah Purwokerto are required to have an adaptive and sustainable business strategy. This research seeks to examine the business. strategy of BMT Dana Mentari using two main approaches, namely VRIO (Value, Rarity, Imitability, Organization) and PEST (Political, Economic, Social, Technological) analysis. Through a descriptive Using using a qualitative method, the information was gathered through comprehensive interviews. management and relevant literature studies. By integrating the results of internal and external analysis, this study formulates a business strategy that focuses on optimizing internal resources and adapting to the external environment. This strategy is expected to strengthen the position of BMT Dana Mentari in supporting the empowerment of the people's economy and increasing its contribution to the growth of the MSME sector in a sustainable manner.

Abstract

This study aims to optimize the marketing of portfolio products at BPRS BAS through the General Electric (GE) Matrix approach. This approach combines the analysis of industry attractiveness and business unit strength, allowing for the mapping of each product's strategic position within the portfolio. The method used in this research is quantitative descriptive through in-depth interviews and secondary data. The results show that BPRS BAS has significant opportunities in the Islamic finance industry, particularly in the small business segment, with key strengths in construction financing and deposits. The 'proactive' marketing strategy and product diversification are key to enhancing competitiveness and customer loyalty. Being in the growth quadrant of the GE Matrix, it is recommended that BPRS BAS continue to expand its products and strengthen educational campaigns to increase market penetration.

Abstract

This study aims to identify and formulate a strategy to improve the performance of PT Bank Perkreditan Rakyat (BPR) BKK Purwokerto (Perseroda) using the Malcolm Baldrige Criteria for Performance Excellence (MBCfPE). Facing tight competition in the financial sector, PT BPR BKK Purwokerto (Perseroda) needs to implement a systematic approach to improve operational efficiency and service quality. This study uses a literature study method and in-depth interviews with management and employees to collect data and analyze current conditions and potential improvements. The results of the study indicate that the application of Malcolm Baldrige principles, such as market and customer focus, has a positive impact on the performance of PT BPR BKK Purwokerto (Perseroda). Human resource development and product innovation have also been proven to be major supporting factors. Employee involvement in decision making increases motivation and productivity, which contributes to customer satisfaction. Therefore, PT BPR BKK Purwokerto (Perseroda) is advised to implement this strategy comprehensively to achieve sustainable competitive advantage.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Malcolm Baldrige Criteria for Performance Excellence (MBCfPE) in enhancing performance quality at KSPPS BMT DAS Purbalingga, a sharia microfinance institution in Indonesia. Using a descriptive quantitative approach, the study assesses seven dimensions of MBCfPE—Leadership, Strategic Planning, Customer Focus, Measurement, Knowledge Management, Workforce Focus, Process Management, and Results. The findings reveal that BMT DAS Purbalingga achieved an overall score of 830, categorizing it as a "Benchmark Leader" under the MBCfPE framework. The highest performance was recorded in the "Customer and Market Focus" category with a score of 88.23%, reflecting the organization's strong customer orientation and service quality. However, the "Measurement, Analysis, and Knowledge Management" dimension scored the lowest (77,77%), indicating room for improvement in strategic data analysis and knowledge utilization. These results suggest that the adoption of MBCfPE has positively influenced institutional performance, positioning KSPPS BMT DAS as a model for excellence in the Islamic microfinance sector. The research contributes to existing literature by providing empirical evidence on MBCfPE application in a sharia cooperative context and supports prior findings on the framework’s versatility across industries.

Abstract

In the ever-evolving digital era, financial service transformation is essential to increase company competitiveness. PT Pegadaian Purwokerto Branch as one of the State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) has made various innovations in digital-based products and services are designed to address the requirements of the community, with particular emphasis on the lower middle class demographic. The study aims to analyze the market and product strategies implemented by Pegadaian Purwokerto Branch using the Ansoff Matrix approach. The research employed a qualitative descriptive methodology, utilizing data collection techniques that included direct interviews with branch office executives and comprehensive documentation. The data were subjected to analysis through the Ansoff Matrix framework, which encompasses four principal strategies: market penetration, market development, product development, and diversification. The results of the study show that Pegadaian Purwokerto Branch has implemented a market penetration strategy through service digitalization, product development by launching digital gold installment services and sharia financing, as well as a diversification strategy through collaboration with the e-commerce sector and other digital platforms. With this strategy, Pegadaian is expected to be able to maintain competitiveness and expand market reach sustainably.

Abstract

. This study discusses business development strategies at KSPPS Zam-Zam Barokah, located in the Cilongok District. As a Sharia-based financial institution, this KSPPS operates without using an interest-based system. In facing competition with conventional financial institutions, KSPPS Zam-Zam Barokah is required to implement innovative and responsive strategies. In addition, the Competitive Profile Matrix (CPM) method is used to highlight the strengths and weaknesses of competitors. The KSPPS offers various savings products such as Qurban, Pension, Mudharabah, and Wadiah, as well as financing products including Murabahah, Musyarakah, Ijarah, and Qardh, all of which comply with Sharia principles. The findings emphasize the importance of strengthening human resources, developing technology, expanding cooperation networks, and diversifying business efforts to ensure sustainability and enhance the competitiveness of the KSPPS amidst the current economic developments

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the development strategy of the Hanada Quwais Sembada Sharia Savings and Loan Cooperative (KSPPS) Purwokerto Branch. And Sharia Financing Cooperative (KSPPS) Hanada Quwais Sembada Purwokerto Branch through the Strategic Position and Action Evaluation (SPACE) Matrix approach. Abstract

Climate change has become a serious challenge with far-reaching impacts on various sectors, including economic activities in urban areas such as Purwokerto. This study aims to identify and analyze the effects of climate change on the local economy and the resilience of communities in response to these changes. Employing a descriptive qualitative method through literature review, the study highlights extreme weather phenomena such as heavy rainfall, rising temperatures, and unpredictable climate patterns that significantly disrupt the agricultural sector, traditional markets, infrastructure, and Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). The findings reveal that MSMEs suffer losses due to shifts in consumer behavior and supply chain disruptions, while the agricultural sector faces declining productivity caused by irregular planting and harvesting seasons. On the other hand, digitalization and technological adaptation emerge as strategic opportunities to build local economic resilience. Therefore, synergy between digital innovation, adaptive policies, and improved community literacy is essential to strengthen urban economic resilience in the face of climate change threats.

Abstract

Urbanization is major factor influecing the economic growth of cities in Indonesia. This article examines how the migration of people from rural to urban araes drives productivity, economic diversification, and infracstructure invesment. Howevwer, urbanization also pressure on public sevices. Using a literature-based approach, this study explores the relationship between urbanization and economic growth, as well as strategies to manage urbanization for balanced development between rural and urban areas. The study results indicate that urbanization can effectively contribute to economic growth if managed properly through sound and sustainable policies.
