Abstract

Purpose – This study aims to develop a sociology learning module based on Bugis–Makassar local wisdom to strengthen school culture and internalize cultural values among eleventh-grade students at Madrasah Aliyah Swasta DDI Baru-Baru Tanga, Pangkep. The research addresses instructional limitations in existing materials that lack contextualization, cultural relevance, and the integration of local wisdom into sociology learning.Methodology – The study employed a qualitative development approach, utilizing Borg & Gall's (1983) model, which encompassed needs analysis, module planning, expert validation, revision, and limited field testing. Thirty students participated in the module trial. Data were collected through questionnaires, observations, and interviews, then analyzed descriptively to assess clarity, content relevance, cultural integration, student engagement, and value internalization.Findings – The module was found to be clear, systematic, and easy to understand (average score 4.3). It successfully links sociological concepts with students’ prior knowledge and daily experiences (4.1), integrates key Bugis–Makassar values such as siri’ na pacce, sipakatau, and getteng (4.5), encourages active participation (4.2), and supports the internalization of character-based cultural values (4.0). Overall, the module bridges abstract sociological theory with students' socio-cultural realities while reinforcing school culture and social character.Contribution – This study contributes to the development of culturally integrated and contextually relevant sociology learning materials. The module functions not only as an academic resource but also as a medium for character education rooted in local wisdom. It further demonstrates the effectiveness of the Borg & Gall model in producing high-quality instructional materials suited to students’ cultural contexts.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the need to preserve local cultural values within modern educational settings, particularly the Bugis–Makassar values of siri’ (self-worth), pesse (empathy), sipakatau (humanizing one another), and sipakainge’ (mutual reminder). These values are considered essential for strengthening students’ character and fostering harmonious social interaction in schools. This research aims to analyze how Bugis–Makassar cultural values are integrated into the learning process at Madrasah Aliyah Swasta Darud Da'wah Wal-Irsyad (MAS-DDI) Baru-Baru Tanga Pangkep. A qualitative approach was employed with participants including the principal, Islamic Education teachers, Guidance and Counseling teachers, Islamic Cultural History teachers, and students from grades XI and XII. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, observations, and documentation, and validated using data triangulation. The findings reveal that cultural values are integrated into both formal and non-formal learning through contextual, collaborative, and reflective strategies. These practices contribute to character development, enhanced learning motivation, and the strengthening of students’ cultural identity.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis pengaruh penerapan school well-being terhadap kesejahteraan siswa di SMP Negeri 3 Bissappu, Kabupaten Bantaeng. School well-being dalam penelitian ini mencakup aspek kondisi sekolah, hubungan sosial, pemenuhan diri, dan status kesehatan. Sementara kesejahteraan siswa diukur berdasarkan dimensi psikologis, sosial, fisik, dan akademik. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain asosiatif-kausal. Data dikumpulkan melalui angket berskala Likert dan dianalisis menggunakan uji validitas, reliabilitas, serta uji-t untuk melihat pengaruh variabel bebas terhadap variabel terikat. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan school well-being berada pada kategori baik dan kesejahteraan siswa berada pada kategori tinggi. Uji- t menunjukkan adanya pengaruh yang signifikan antara penerapan school well- being terhadap kesejahteraan siswa. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa optimalisasi penerapan school well-being berkontribusi positif terhadap peningkatan kesejahteraan siswa, sehingga sekolah perlu memperkuat kebijakan dan praktik yang mendukung suasana belajar yang sehat, aman, dan inklusif.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana Program Pelayanan Anak Jalanan di Rumah Perlindungan Trauma Centre (RPTC) Dinas Sosial Kota Makassar dan apa saja faktor pendukung dan penghmbat dalam penyelengaraan program. Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus. Informasi dalam penelitian ini terdiri dari Kepala UPT (RPTC) Dinas Sosial Kota Makassar, pekerja profesional, Laskar pelangi dan anak jalanan yang sudah di bina di. Teknik pengumpulan data yang di lakukan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi, yang kemudian di analisis secara deskriptif dengan tahap reduksi data, penyajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan, serta diuji keabsahannya menggunakan triangulasi sumber dan metode. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa program pelayanan (RPTC), yang mencakup Pelatihan dan pembinaan meliputi pelatihan kerja untuk anak usia produktif, pendidikan dasar (baca, tulis, hitung dan bermain sambil belajar), pembinanan sosial (Membersihkan tempat tidur masing-masing, membersihkan lingkungan sekitar dan pemberian edukasi). Adapun rehabilitas dan spiritual yang mencakup pemenuhan kebutuhan dasar (Makan, minum, pakaian yang layak, alat mandi yang baru dan tempat tidur yang nyaman, serta menjalankan kegiatan ke agamaan dengan keyakinan masing-masing). Selanjutnya reintegrasi sosial dan layanan informasi kegiatan ini meliputi (Asesmen awal, persiapan klien dan keluarga, pertemuan dan diskusi dengan keluarga, alternatif penempatan jika kluarga tidak di temukan atau tidak siap, serta monitoring dan pendamping berkelanjutan) adapun layanan informasi yang yang meliputi (Pemberitahuan informasi hak-hak klien secara langsung dan layanan publikasi tentang kegiatan program di media sosial instagram), Adapun faktor pendukung keberhasilannya yaitu koordinasi pemimpin yang optimal, motivasi anak jalanan ingin berubah dan kerja sama anatar lemabaga yang optimal, adapun faktor penghamabatnya Keterbatasan SDM meski hal ini di nilai cukup tapi (RPTC) masi membtuhkuhan pekerja profesional seperti perawat dan fisoterapis, sarana dan prasarana yang belum memadai, anggaran yang belum optimal dan minimnya dukungan dari sebagian keluarga klien. Abstract

Cross-cultural communication has become an important aspect of social interaction in the era of globalization, as it allows individuals from different cultural backgrounds to understand each other and establish harmonious relationships. The research method uses a literature review, where this research uses scientific journals as a basis. This paper discusses verbal (language and accent) and nonverbal communication (gestures, distance, eye contact, and body language), differences in high-context and low-context communication styles, and communication barriers such as stereotypes, prejudices, and misunderstandings. The analysis shows that the effectiveness of cross-cultural communication depends not only on language skills, but also on cultural awareness, empathy, and the ability to adapt to social norms and nonverbal behavior. Developing effective communication competencies allows individuals to interact more productively, reduce conflict, and appreciate cultural diversity.
