Abstract

Evaluating the learning outcomes of a certain course implementation can improve the quality of education. This study is focused on Indonesian EFL undergraduates’ perceptions of the relationships between teacher performance, technological resources, online project-based learning (OPJBL), and ESP learning outcomes. Participants of the study have attended English for specific purposes (ESP) online courses during school closures due to Covid-19. A survey was addressed to 350 undergraduates after a one-semester implementation of the OPJBL. The students were requested to rate their perceptions on validated items using a 7-point Likert-type scale for the data collection. The data were modelled and computed through partial least square structural equation modelling (PLS-SEM). The main findings of the study revealed that teacher performance and technological resources were significant in predicting OPJBL. Similarly, OPJBL was found to play a significant role in affecting ESP learning outcomes. Teacher performance and technological resources were also correlated to ESP learning outcomes. Significant differences were found among students’ locations for all variables. The findings highlight the benefits of the SEM approach for establishing the proposed framework and assessing the links between variables concerning the OPJBL and learning outcomes.

Abstract

Abstract

Problems related to children's character are still a problem related to the frequent occurrence of deviations in their behavior. In Minangkabau society, there is a slightly different view of the role holder in developing children's character, namely involving the role of Mamak or the mother's brother to share responsibility for the character that grows in children (nephews). The study aims to describe the responsibility for children's character education in the Minangkabau kinship system, and to analyze the dynamics of the responsibility for children's character education in the Minangkabau kinship system and the causes. This study uses a literature review, which is part of a qualitative descriptive method using relevant reading sources. The results of the analysis show that there has been a shift in the responsibility for children's character education from Mamak to parents as a whole, caused by the Mamak's work which results in their own busyness, then the Mamak's busyness with their respective families.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the challenges and opportunities of fashion MSMEs in the post-pandemic period around the Universitas Jambi Mendalo area using a qualitative approach with a case study method. The findings show that fashion MSMEs continue to face various challenges, such as increasing business competition, rising capital costs, stock management complexity, and limited digital literacy in utilizing social media and online selling platforms. The rapidly changing behavior of students who constantly follow fashion trends also demands higher adaptability from business owners. Nevertheless, significant opportunities remain through the resurgence of campus activities, strong student interest in fast fashion, the use of e-commerce platforms, and the enhancement of in-store shopping experiences. This research highlights that adaptability, digital marketing innovation, and responsive business management are crucial factors for the sustainability of fashion MSMEs in the post-pandemic era.
