Abstract

The species Brassica oleracea L is known as cabbage or cabbage. This purple cabbage has a distinctive color that is purple. The purple color is caused by the presence of color pigments, namely anthocyanins, and this substance will be used as an indicator of borax. Borax is often misused to be mixed into food in order to get savory, chewy, and durable food, even though borax compounds are actually dangerous for consumption. This study aims to determine whether purple cabbage (Brasicca oleracea L) is effectively used as an identification of borax compounds. Purple cabbage extract can be used as a qualitative test to identify borax compounds, it can be characterized by the change of purple color to green color. The results of the stick color test as a borax indicator at 12 hours and 16 hours immersion. Tissue color test results as an indicator of borax in immersion

Abstract

Morning cream is a type of face cream that is used in the morning and night cream is specifically designed to repair skin cells while sleeping. Many mornings and evenings are sold through onlineshopp with a quick brightening effect. The content in facial whitening creams that usually can give a white effect is hydroquinone. Use of hydroquinone. The purpose of this study was to find out whether there is a hydroquinone content in night creams sold in online shops. Qualitative test results using TLC from 6 samples of morning and evening creams used, all samples containing hydroquinone. There were 4 samples of morning and night cream containing hydroquinone with levels in Cream A (morning) containing 3.360% hydroquinone, cream B (morning) containing 3.49% hydroquinone, cream B (night) containing 2.49% hydroquinone, and cream C (night) containing 2.92% hydroquinone is not in accordance with BPOM regulations because it exceeds 2%. There were 2 samples of morning and night cream containing hydroquinone with cream A (night) content of 0.948% and cream C (morning) 1.47% which did not exceed BPOM regulations or did not exceed 2%.

Abstract

Artritis reumatoid adalah penyakit kronis yang menyebabkan inflamasi pada persendian khususnya pada jari-jari, pergelangan dan lutut yang dikarakterisasi dengan munculnya rasa nyeri serta pembengkakan sendi. Pengobatan artitis dapat mengunakan bahan alam. Salah satu tanaman yang dapat digunakan adalah biji alpukat. Biji alpukat mengandung senyawa polifenol, flavonoid, triterponoid, alkaloid, tannin, saponin yang memiliki aktivitas antiarthritis. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efek antiartritis, mengetahui profil penurunan volume udem, dan perbaikan profil histopatologi pada kaki tikus jantan yang diinduksi CFA, setelah pemberian ekstrak etanol biji alpukat Metode penelitian adalah eksperimental menggunakan hewan uji diinduksi CFA sebelum diberi perlakuan. Sediaan uji berupa suspensi ekstrak yang diberikan selama 7hari, volume udem kaki tikus diukur setiap hari. Kelompok pertama ekstrak biji alpukat dosis 1.96 g/kg BB, kelompok kedua ekstrak biji alpukat dosis 3.92 g/kg BB, kelompok ketiga ekstrak biji alpukat dosis 0.98 g/kg BB, kelompok keempat kontrol positif triamsinolon dosis 0.36 g/kg BB, kelompok kelima kontrol negative CMC 0,5%. Parameter yang diamati adalah presentase penurunan volume udem dan profil histopatologi sendi dan dianalisis dengna SPSS. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak etanol biji alpukat memberikan efek antiarthritis. Dosis yang efektif menurunkan volume udem adalah 1,96 g/kg BB, dibuktikan pada profil histopatologi memberikan gambaran ruang sendi kaki tikus kelompok uji lebih bersih dan mengandung infiltrasi sel yang lebih sedikit dibanding kontrol negatif.

Abstract

Kelurahan Kalisegoro merupakan daerah di Semarang yang masih terdapat beberapa lahan pekarangan kosong yang telah dimanfaatkan untuk Ibu-Ibu Kelompok Wanita Tani untuk berkegiatan menanam komoditi yang bernilai jual di lahan-lahan tersebut.  Tujuan dari pengabdian Masyarakat yang dibiayai oleh  Direktorat Riset, Teknologi, dan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat ini adalah mengintensifkan lahan intensifikasi lahan pekarangan dengan penanaman hingga pengelolaan menjadi produk wedang telang di Kelurahan Kalisegoro Semarang.Metode yang digunakan adalah memberdayakan Tim KWT Kelurahan Kalisegoro Gunungpati Semarang dengan penanaman Bunga Telang untuk menambah nilai ekonomis dari hasil panen. Pada kegiatan ini, difokuskan kepada pengolahan bunga telang untuk dijual, termasuk pengemasan, dan pemasarannya. Jumlah anggota komunitas mitra yang bergabung dalam kegiatan ini adalah 25 orang. Penyuluhan tentang tanaman telang mulai dari khasiaat, cara tanam, cara panen dan pengolahannya. Kegiatan mulai dari pembibitan dalam polibag, pemindahan ditanah hingga pemanenan dan kemudian praktik membuat label serta pengemasan hingga produk siap jual yaitu Wedang Telang dan Telang Kering.   Hasil dari Pengabdian ini adalah bahwa kelompok KWT telah berhasil menanam tanaman telang sebanyak 250 tanaman dari bibit yang telah diberikan dalam polybag untuk kemudian dipindah ke tanah. Kelompok tani telah berhasil memananam dan membuat lanjaran sulur untuk tempat merambat tanaman telang. Kelompok Wanita tani telah memanen bunga telang dan mengeringkannya. Harga dari bunga telang kering lebih bernilai ekonomis tinggi dan harga wedang telangnya yang terdiri dari 9 bunga kering, gula batu 1 gram serta potongan lemon kering 2 buah  dengan kemasan yang baik dan label yang telah dirancang menambah nilai jual dari wedang telang tersebut.

Abstract

Lip cream is a cosmetic product with a creamy texture that provides long-lasting color for the lips. One of the cosmetic colorants often misused as a lip colorant is Rhodamine B, which is supposed to be used for textile coloring. Rhodamine B may cause irritation, is carcinogenic, and can even cause liver damage in high concentrations. This study aims to determine whether lip creams sold in marketplaces contain Rhodamine B and measure the concentration of Rhodamine B in these products. Qualitative analysis of the Rhodamine B content in lip cream was carried out using the thin layer chromatography (TLC) method with the stationary phase silica gel GF254 and the mobile phase n-butanol: ethyl acetate: 25% ammonia with a ratio of 10:4:5. Of the 5 samples that were qualitatively analyzed using TLC, 3 samples were positive for containing rhodamine B, samples number 1, 2, and 3. Quantitative analysis was conducted to determine Rhodamine B concentrate using the spectrophotometry UV-Vis method with a maximum wavelength of 546 nm. The results of assay determination showed that the average concentration containing rhodamine B was 0.044% in sample number 1, 0.060% in sample number 2, and 0.052% in sample number 3.

Abstract

The leaves of singkil (Premna corymbosa) empirically contain various secondary metabolite compounds, one of which is flavonoids that can be used as asthma medication, antitumor, worm infection, and reduce bad breath. Drying is one of the stages of making simplicia which is done so that simplicia is not damaged. This study aims to determine the effect of drying method on total flavonoid content in singkil leaf extract. The research method used is experimental. The research phase included sampling, plant determination, drying simplicia with oven temperature of 50oC and drying in an open space protected from indirect sunlight, extraction by maceration, phytochemical screening, determination of total flavonoid content. The assay method used was colorimetric using UV-Vis spectrophotometer with AlCl3 reagent and quercetin standard. The calibration curve was made for 5 concentrations, namely 12.5; 15; 17.5; 20; and 22.5 ppm. The absorbance was calculated at a wavelength of 415 nm and the reading was used as a determinant of the total flavonoid content of the singkil leaf extract. The results showed that the simplicia drying method could significantly affect the total levels of singkil leaf extract, with the total flavonoid content of singkil leaf extract using the drying method of 2.27±0.02% while the total flavonoid content of singkil leaf extract using the 50oC oven method was 1, 50±0.02%.

Abstract

Pelatihan Pengelolaan Obat Antihipertensi kepada anggota PKK Kelurahan Gayamsari, Semarang. Tujuan dari kegiatan ini adalah untuk meningkatkan pemahaman dan keterampilan anggota PKK dalam mengelola obat antihipertensi dengan benar. Pelatihan mencakup materi tentang hipertensi, jenis obat antihipertensi, cara penggunaan yang tepat, serta pemantauan tekanan darah. Selain itu, dibahas juga gaya hidup sehat untuk mendukung pengelolaan hipertensi.Metode pelatihan meliputi pemberian materi teori, simulasi praktis, diskusi, serta studi kasus. Kegiatan ini melibatkan sekitar 30-50 peserta dan berlangsung dengan menggunakan pre-test dan post-test untuk mengukur peningkatan pengetahuan peserta. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan peningkatan pengetahuan dari 86,7% pada pre-test menjadi 95,8% pada post-test, meskipun peningkatan ini dianggap relatif kecil. Kegiatan ini diharapkan dapat memberikan dampak positif dalam meningkatkan kesadaran dan pengelolaan hipertensi di tingkat komunitas.

Abstract

Java chili fruit (Piper Retroofactum Vahl.) can be used in concoctions to treat fever, flatulence, heartburn, vomiting, overcome digestive disorders, stimulate appetite. In the traditional medicine industry in Indonesia, Java chili is one of the most needed raw materials, 9.5% of the total simplicia. Javanese chilies are round and dark green to brown in color. The content of the main secondary metabolites in chili plants is piperine, pipernaline, guineensine and essential oils. The purpose of this study was to determine the piperine content isolated from Java chili using the HPLC method. The column used is a C-18 type column, 2489 UV/Visible detector light. The mobile phase used was Acetonitrile : Methanol : Aquabidest (65:5:30) v/v. The isolation results obtained yield of 0.20% piperine isolate has a spicy taste, needle-shaped blackish brown color, difficult to dissolve in water and easily soluble in ethanol.From the results of the assay, the piperine content data was obtained at 37.48%

Abstract

Borax (Sodium tetraborate) is a dangerous preservative that is not permitted to be used as a food ingredient. Borax is often misused to preserve various foods such as meatballs, wet noodles, banana molen, dumplings, lontong, ketupat, dumplings. In large quantities borax causes fever, anuria, coma, central nervous system damage, cyanosis, kidney damage, anemia, vomiting, diarrhea. The aim of this research is to determine borax levels in frequently consumed foods circulating in the East Semarang market. The food samples studied were meatballs, wet noodles and crackers sold at the East Semarang Market. Qualitative sample testing is organoleptic testing and TLC. In quantitative testing by determining levels using UV-Vis spectrophotometry using ethanol solvent. A total of 3 meatball samples, 1 noodle sample contained Borax. The borax levels in the meatball samples were B1 0.0052%, B2 0.0045%, B3 0.0046%. And the borax content in the wet noodle sample was M3 0.0045%.
