Abstract

The research was aimed to determine the type, the distribution and the incidence of banana leaf diseases in several production centers in West Sumatra, Bengkulu, North Sumatra and West Java. Direct observations on banana orchards were conducted in some districts in Simalungun, Deli Serdang and Medan (North Sumatra), Tanah Datar, Limapuluh Kota, Agam, Pariaman and Pasaman (West Sumatra), Rejang Lebong and Kepahyang (Bengkulu), Sukabumi, Purwakarta and Subang (West Java) from November to December 2006. Two banana orchards were randomly selected in each district. Plant population at the selected orchard was at least 100 plants. From each sampled orchard, if banana population consisted of similar or only one variety, 10 plants were randomly chosen according to wind direction. Meanwhile, when the banana varieties were varied, five plants were randomly selected. The result showed that Black Sigatoka and Eumusae leaf spot were found in West Sumatra, Bengkulu and North Sumatra at severity level of between 15 % to 62.31%, whilst speckle disease was mainly found in North Sumatra and in parts of West Sumatra at severity level of between 72,72% to 100% and 15 to 30%, respectively. Banana varieties that were primarily attacked by leaf diseases were Cavendish, Telor, Barangan and Emas.Keywords : bananas, black sigatoka, Eumusae, speckle, disease incidence and distribution

Abstract

The impeller of air plane turbine or electrical generator gas turbine, generally used Ni base content superalloy. For long time turbine operation, oxidation of Ni-alloy could be happened. This research want to know the effect of the high temperature and time duration of turbine operation, especially oxidation of Ni-3Al alloy. In this research the temperature treatment at 1298 and 1498 oK, while time duration 20,25 and 50 hours. The research result shows that NiO Oxid is formed and porous crystall granulars are identified. This porous crystalls are Ni Al2O4. Keywords: Superalloy, Ni-Al, porous crystall, NiO.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) Menganalisis Dan Mendeskripsikan Bentuk-bentuk Motif tenun Kambe-Kambera Dalam Tenun Tradisional Muna, (2) Menganalisis dan Mendeskripsikan makna simbolik motif tenun Kambe-Kambera dalam tenun tradisional Muna, (3) Menganalisis dan Mendeskripsikan Nilai-Nilai yang Terkandungdalam Motif tenun Kambe-Kambera dalam Tenun Tradisional Muna. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif. Pengumpulan data dengan metode observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Informan penelitian berjumlah 5 orang. Teknik analisis data menggunakan semiotic Charles Sanders Pierce. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa kain tenun kambe-kambera pada masyarakat Muna terinspirasi dari bentuk fauna dengan menggunakan motif dasaryaitu motif alami dan motif dekoratif. Bentuk-Bentuk Motif tenun Kambe-Kambera dalam tenun tradisional Muna sarung bhotu,Samasili, Mango-manggopa, Lejha, Bhia-bhia. Makna Simbolik Motif Tenun Kambe-kambera dalam tenun tradisional Muna Sarung bhotu : (symbol 8 berpasangan) Sarung samasili : (symbol 8 berpasangan ), sarung Manggo-manggopa (symbol 6 berpasangan,Sarung lejha : (symbolnya 4 berpasangan), Sarung bhia-bhia : ( simbolnya 6 berpasangan ). Nilai-nilai pada kain tenun kambe-kambera , Nilai religious, Nilai Pendidikan antara lain tanggung jawab, kepedulian social dan kerja keras. Nilai budaya, Nilai Ekonomi, Nilai Estetika.

Abstract

Pondok pesantren As-Sittu yang berlokasi di Kp. Geuleuh Careuh RT/RW 05/02 Kabupaten Pandeglang Banten adalah pesantren tradisional yang didirikan sekitar tahun 1988, pondok pesantren ini masih bersifat tradisional, artinya pendidikan yang diselenggarakan di pondok pesantren ini hanya pendidikan yang bersifat keagamaan saja, baik pengajian kitab - kitab kuning maupun program hafalan Al-quran. Sebagian besar santri di pondok pesantren berasal dari luar daerah, dominan berasal dari wilayah sumatera yaitu Jambi dan sekitarnya. Karena pondok pesantren As-Sittu masih bersifat tradisional, maka di pondok pesantren belum memiliki program pendidikan atau pengajaran materi formal khususnya  Pendidikan di bidang teknologi informasi sebagaimana layaknya Pondok pesantren modern yang bersifat Boarding School atau  pondok pesantren  modern saat ini, terlebih lagi perkembangan teknologi informasi melaju begitu pesat.Untuk itu pengusul berinisiasi memberikan Pendidikan bidang teknologi informasi kepada para santri pondok pesantren As-Sittu berupa pelatihan pembuatan naskah bahasa arab menggunakan Microsoft Word dengan tujuan agar para santri dapat memiliki kemampuan menulis bahasa  arab menggunakan media komputer. Berdasarkan analisis situasi yang ada, maka kami bersama mitra menempatkan masalah yang harus ditangani antara lain : Pondok pesantran As-Sittu merupakan sebuah pondok pesnatren yang hanya mengajarkan ilmu-ilmu agama dan belum menerapkan pendidikan berbasis keterampilan (skills). Pondok pesantran As-Sittu merupakan pondok pesantren tradisional sehingga dalam proses pembelajaran masih menggunakan media tulisan tangan. Para pengasuh dan santri masih minim pengetahuan tentang pemanfaatan teknologi dalam proses pembelajaran.Kata kunci: microsoft word; naskah arab; pesantren; pelatihan;

Abstract

Yayasan rumah yatim piatu Ibnu Sabil kota Tangerang merupakan tempat bernaungnya anak-anak yatim piatu baik remaja maupun dewasa untuk mendapatkan tempat tinggal serta pendidikan yang layak untuk menciptakan sumber daya manusia yang berakhlak dan berkualitas. Untuk itu kegiatan remaja di rumah yatim piatu Ibnu Sabil diarahkan pada program-program yang dapat meningkatkan knowledge serta keterampilan anak-anak asuh untuk dapat hidup lebih baik di lingkungan masyarakat. Pada era digital saat ini, manusia tidak lepas dari perkembangan teknologi komputer, sehingga kebutuhan akan ilmu komputer semakin tinggi pada setiap individu, organisasi, maupun dunia industri. Dengan majunya teknologi komputer, manusia dituntut bukan hanya dapat mengoperasikan komputer, tetapi harus mampu juga dalam mengenal, merawat, serta memperbaiki apa bila terjadi kerusakan pada komputer tersebut. Dari sisi software, sebuah laptop dapat saja mengalami masalah kerusakan, seperti sistem operasi error, terkena virus, tidak terdapatnya aplikasi yang dibutuhkan, serta masih banyak lagi masalah-masalah lain yang sering kali muncul. dengan adanya masalah tersebut, tentunya seorang pengguna komputer harus mampu memperbaiki secara mandiri tanpa harus membayar jasa service untuk memperbaik kerusakannya. Jasa Instalasi komputer saat ini bisa terbilang cukup mahal yang berkisar antara 150.000 sampai 200.000 rupiah ditempat jasa service, untuk itu, pengetahuan serta pelatihan instalasi laptop maupun komputer sangat dibutuhkan oleh semua pengguna termasuk oleh para remaja di rumah yatim Ibnu Sabil. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, kami mengajukan untuk melakukan pelatihan kepada anak-anak usia remaja tentang instalasi komputer di rumah yatim Ibnu Sabil kota Tangerang. Dengan memberikan pelatihan, kami berharap anak-anak remaja mampu memiliki keahlian bidang instalasi Windows serta aplikasi sejenisnya sehingga dapat diaplikasikan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari, baik di lingkungan tempat tinggal, dunia kerja maupun usaha, serta siap berkompetisi dalam persaingan di dunia kerja. Selain itu juga dapat dimanfaatkan untuk memebrikan jasa perbaikan software komputer kepada orang lain yang membutuhkan.

Abstract

The quality of education is the ultimate goal of a teaching and learning process. This study aimed to examine the extent to which principal leadership and teacher performance could affect the quality of education at Junior High School level, both individually and concurrently. The research was conducted in Junior High School in Konawe regency, Southeast Sulawesi. The primary data was collected from 88 respondents. This study revealed that: 1) there is a significant effect of principal leadership on the quality of education at Junior High School; 2) there is a significant effect of teacher performance on the quality of education; 3) there is a significant simultaneous effect of principal leadership and teacher performance on the quality of education. The principal leadership variable and teacher performance explained 30,8% of the total variance in quality of education. Thus, in order to improve the quality of education in general, principal and teachers should develop their professional skills.

Abstract

AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan penilaian pembelajaran holistik integratif bagi pendidikan anak usia dini. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif. Penentuan subjek penelitian menggunakan purposive sampling dengan subjek penelitian adalah TK Setia dan Tunas Bahari. Metode penelitian ini adalah metode observasi dengan mengamati langsung bagaimana jalannya proses pembelajaran holistik integratif. Berdasarkan hasil wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi, dapat disimpulkan bahwa TK Setia dan Tunas Bahari di kota Baubau telah mengimplementasikan pembelajaran holistik integratif. Diantaranya dalam menentukan dan merencanakan kegiatan proses belajar mengajar di kelas, guru telah melakukan perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi pembelajaran dengan baik. TK Setia dan Tunas Bahari yang berada di kota Baubau juga telah memberikan layanan kesehatan dan gizi untuk anak selama di sekolah.

Abstract

This study aimed to find out the extent of ability of English teachers in implementing the 2013 curriculum at SMK Negeri 1 Kendari. This study applied a qualitative research method with descriptive approach. The respondences of this study were four English teachers at SMK Negeri 1 Kendari who have implemented the 2013 curriculum. The data was obtained by conducting observation, interview and documentation. The data was analyzed through four phases. They were data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and taking conclusion. The results of this study showed that in the aspect of planning of learning, English teachers have compiled an independent lesson plan, developed from the 2013 curriculum syllabus. This was indicated by the achievement value based on the APKG sheet results which was 90 and was categorized as very good. In the aspect of implementation of learning, the English teachers have applied a scientific approach. This was indicated by the achievement value based on APKG sheet results which was 87 and was categorized as very good. In the aspect of assessment of learning, teachers have implemented authentic assessments and follow-up learning outcomes. This was indicated by the achievement value based on the APKG sheet results which was 78 and was categorized as good.Keywords:English Teachers Ability; Implementation; 2013 Curriculum

Abstract

The present research is concerned with the effect of Quizlet on students’ vocabulary achievement and perception. A quasi experimental research design was employed, involving a control group and an experimental group. Each group consisted of thirty students. The sample of the study was determined by way of purposive sampling. The only difference between the control group and the experimental one was that the latter was taught using Quizlet, whereas the former was not. Two types of instruments were used: a vocabulary test and a questionnaire. The findings of the research show that the experimental group outperformed the control group and that students had a positive perception on the use of Quizlet for learning vocabulary.Keywords:Quizlet, vocabulary achievement, Perception on Quizlet

Abstract

This study aims at (1) investigating the effect of TED Talks on students speaking performance; (2) investigating whether or not gender affects speaking performance; (3) investigating the effect of TED Talks on reducing speaking anxiety; and (4) identifying whether or not gender affects anxiety. The study involved 42 students as the sample from 217 tenth graders of SMA Negeri 8 Kendari. The students were grouped into 2 cohorts, experimental and control class. Under quasi-experimental design, the students were assessed on their speaking performance and language anxiety. The data were analyzed using independent sample t-test and paired sample t-test using SPSS 20.0. The result of the study revealed that (1) TED Talks had a significant effect on improving student speaking performance; (2) prior to any treatment, there was no significant difference between male and female students on their speaking performance; (3) TED Talks was proven to have a significant effect on reducing student speaking anxiety; and (4) gender was not proven to have a significant effect on language anxiety.
