Abstract

This research aims to know community structure of crabs present in mangrove at Pinotu village, Toribulu subdistrict, Parigi Moutong regency and to developed its resultant for biology learning media being a pocket boo. The research was descriptivelycarried out at the village and was improved to design 4D. Sampling was undertaken by observing crabs found in each of the determinate stations in which those was then divided into quadrant transect and retrieval time consisting of 11.30 – 12.30; 17.00 – 18.00; 23.30 – 24.30 periods. The resultant observation was eventually to be a pocket book for biology learning media. Results of the research showed that 6 species of crabs were found in the area including Uca annulipes, Uca rosea, Uca paradussumieri, Scylla serrata, Epixanthus dentatus, and Sarmatum germaini. Total of the observed crabd was 297 individuals. Absolute density value and retrieval times were mostly found in station II during 18.00 – 19.00 periods. Sarmatium germaini was a species of crabs possessing the highest of the relative density value (55,56%). Moreover, diversity index per station ranged 0.7305 – 0.7491 that means it was less then 1.0 indicating a low diversity. For dominancy index, it ranged 0.678 – 0.776. the highest dominancy was observed in station III valued 0.0776 suggesting that a richness of species of crabs was a quite low. Distribution patterns of species present in station I, III, and III were 0.394, 0.304, and 0.016, respectively, recommending that those were uniform distribution patterns. These seems that the habitats, physical factors, retrieval times strongly affected on crab community present in the mangrove forest. In addition, data analysis showed that the community structure of crabs in mangrove forest at Pinotu village was categorized as a low diversity that it was highly resulted in an ecological pressure. The developed pocket book has been validated by content, media, and design experts providng the following value: 91.4%, 9.71%, 77.33%. it has also been tried out to small group and larged group giving the values; 87.2%  and 84.4% respectively. Accordingly, the pocket book can be appropriately used as biology learning media.

Abstract

Ebony (Diospyros celebica Bakh.) is a luxirious wood that very popular either in or abroad. The regeneration level of ebony in nature is low enough, it is caused of its semitolerant characterictic and its slowly growth,which on its seedling level, ebony needs shelter plants and at the time of secondary branch formed, it needs light intensity that should increase along its growth. The aim of the research was to find out the growth of Ebony plant in various shelter. The allocation time was began on May to August 2015. The research used Group Randomized design that consisted of 4 treatments and 2 groups as follow: slope tilt 50and 40, so there were 8 unit of trials. One unit of trial consisted of  5 seedling that the total planted was 4 × 2 × 5 = 40 seedling. The result of the research showed that shelter treatment of 90% (N4) resulted the increase of the highest number of Ebony seedling leaves was (`2,7sheets) and the smallest 0% (N1)  as (0,02 sheet),the shelter treatment of (70% (N3) gave a better response to the height increase of ebony seedling was (1,01 cm) and the lowest 0% (N1) was (0,09 cm), and the width of ebony seedling leaves was (25,39 cm2) and the lowest 0% (N1) was (0,79 cm2), and the shelter treatment of 40% (N2)gave a better reponse to the diameter increase of ebony stem seedling was (0,35 mm) and the lowest of 0% (N1) was (0,02 mm).Keywords : Ebony, Diospyros celebica Bakh,Shelter, Growth.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe the effect of the mind map-assisted cooperative script learning model on student learning outcomes on biology subject. Learning was carried out online during the COVID-19 pandemic. The research was conducted in the academic year 2020/2021 in odd semesters. This study used a quasi-experimental method with a pretest posttest control group design. This study used 1 control class and 1 experimental class. The number of students were 19 and 21 in the experimental and control class, respectively. To collect the data, a 20-question learning outcome test was used. The research activities were carried out 4 times with 2 tests and 2 learning activities. Research data were analyzed using t-test and Mann Whitney test. The mean difference of the pretest results showed that sig 0.43> 0.05, this indicated that there was no difference in the two groups. The results of the hypothesis test of the posttest showed that Asymp. Sig 0.04 <0.05, with an average posttest score of the experimental class was 11.52 and an average score of the control class learning outcomes was 9.2. The results of this study revealed that the cooperative script learning model assisted with mind maps has a positive effect on student learning outcomes.

Abstract

The community in RT.05/RW.13, Tondo Village, Mantikulore District, Palu City, shows a low level of awareness in maintaining environmental cleanliness, particularly in managing household waste. This condition contributes to the spread of pathogenic bacteria through cockroach vectors (Periplaneta americana), which can cause various diseases. This community service program aimed to enhance public health literacy regarding environmental cleanliness, the resistance of endogenous bacteria carried by cockroaches, and to establish the sustainability of environmental health literacy. The program applied the Participatory Action Research (PAR) method, consisting of four stages: to know, to plan, to act, and to change. The program involved 24 residents of RT.05/RW.13 and was conducted on July 26-27 and August 3-5, 2024. Results indicated an improvement in public understanding, with questionnaire results showing an 84% score categorized as good. Additionally, an educational poster about the dangers of cockroaches as disease vectors and their bacterial resistance was developed and installed in the community area. This increase in health literacy is expected to motivate behavioral changes among residents in maintaining environmental cleanliness, ultimately supporting the creation of a healthier environment

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan keanekaragaman jenis serangga permukaan tanah di Desa Salumpaga dan untuk mengetahui apakah hasil penelitian layak dijadikan sebagai media pembelajaran dalam bentuk buku saku. Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kuantitaf. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Desa Salumpaga Kabupaten Tolitoli pada bulan Oktober 2022. Teknik pengambilan data menggunakan metode purposive sampling dengan menentukan 3 lokasi yang berbeda sebagai stasiun penelitian. Tiap stasiun memiliki luas 1.500 m2 dengan tiga kali pengamatan yaitu pagi, siang, dan malam hari. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa jenis serangga permukaan tanah yang ditemukan di tiga stasiun sebanyak 12 jenis dari 8 famili dan 6 ordo dengan tingkat keanekaragaman tergolong sedang, dengan nilai indeks rata-rata 2,14. Buku yang dihasilkan dianggap layak dijadikan sebagai media pembelajaran berdasarkan hasil penilaian oleh dosen ahli isi, ahli media, ahli desain, dan uji kelayakan mahasiswa dengan persentase komulatif kelayakan sebesar 83,25%.

Abstract

Bawang putih dan madu berkhasiat sebagai antioksidan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk menganalisis kombinasi bawang putih dan madu terhadap spermatozoa mencit (Mus muculus) yang dipapar asap rokok dan pemanfaatannya sebagai media pembelajaran berupa poster. Metode penelitian ini adalah eksperimen laboratorium dengan pola rancangan acak lengkap (RAL). Sampel yang digunakan sebanyak 24 ekor mencit jantan, yang terdiri dari 6 perlakuan dan 4 ulangan. Kelompok perlakuan (P0) merupakan kelompok yang hanya diberikan makan dan minum, kelompok perlakuan (P-) merupakan kelompok yang dipapar asap rokok tanpa diberi larutan kombinasi bawang putih dan madu, kelompok perlakuan (P1) diberi larutan kombinasi bawang putih dan madu dengan konsentrasi 25%, kelompok perlakuan (P2) diberi larutan kombinasi bawang putih dan madu dengan konsentrasi 50%, kelompok perlakuan (P3) diberi larutan kombinasi bawang putih dan madu dengan konsentrasi 75%, kelompok perlakuan (P4) diberi larutan kombinasi bawang putih dan madu dengan konsentrasi 100%. Data yang diperoleh dianalisa dengan ANOVA, diolah dengan program SPSS.25. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa efek kombinasi bawang putih dan madu yang efektif dapat memperbaiki kualitas jumlah dan motilitas spermatozoa terbukti mampu mengatasi radikal bebas yang di hasilkan oleh asap rokok yaitu pada konsetrasi 100%. Hasil penelitian ini layak digunakan sebagai media pembelajaran dalam bentuk poster. Kata Kunci: Bawang Putih, Madu, Mus muculus, Spermatozoa, Rokok.

Abstract

Pendidikan dalam pelaksanaannya memerlukan proses yang berkesinambungan dalam setiap jenis dan jenjang pendidikan yang berkaitan dalam suatu sistem pendidikan yang integral. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeksripsikan persepsi guru biologi tentang Kurikulum Sekolah Penggerak (KSP) di SMA Negeri 4 Palu. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah guru biologi SMA Negeri 4 Palu sebanyak 5 orang dan wakil kepala sekolah bidang kurikulum. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan angket dan wawancara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa persepsi guru biologi pada indikator penyerapan terhadap rangsangan atau objek dari luar individu memiliki skor aktual (X) > 43,99, indikator pengertian atau pemahaman memiliki skor aktual (X) > 31,99, dan indikator penilaian dan evaluasi memilki skor aktual (X) > 43,99. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut dapat dinyatakan bahwa persepsi guru biologi tentang KSP di SMA Negeri 4 Palu berada pada kategori sangat positif.

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan persepsi siswa tentang keterampilan mengajar guru IPA. Jenis penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian deskritif kuantitatif. Sampel penelitian ini adalah kelas VII dan VIII yang berjumlah 32 siswa. Instrumen penelitian menggunakan lembar angket untuk siswa. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan nilai persepsi siswa terhadap keterampilan mengajar guru IPA itu sebanyak 47% dengan kategori sangat baik, selanjutnya kategori baik persentasenya 38% dan kategori cukup yaitu 15%. Kemudian data hasil identifikasi penggunaan keterampilan mengajar guru IPA di SMP Negeri 7 Palu dalam kategori cukup terutama keterampilan membuka dan menutup pembelajaran memiliki nilai persentase 56%, keterampilan menjelaskan 56%, keterampilan bertanya 54%, keterampilan mengadakan variasi 56%, keterampilan memberikan penguatan 52%, keterampilan mengelola kelas 49%, keterampilan membimbing diskusi kelompok kecil 56% dan keterampilan mengajar kelompok kecil dan perorangan memiliki 50%. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan meskipun sebagian besar siswa memberikan persepsi positif, namun beberapa aspek keterampilan mengajar guru yang perlu ditingkatkan, terutama dalam pengelolaan kelas dan mengajar kelompok kecil maupun perorangan. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan upaya berkelanjutan dalam bentuk pelatihan, supervisi, dan pembinaan untuk meningkatkan kompetensi guru IPA dalam menerapkan keterampilan mengajar yang efektif dan menyeluruh.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the obstacles faced by biology teachers at the senior high school (SMA) level in South Palu District in implementing the Independent Curriculum. The method used was descriptive qualitative, with biology teachers from two schools in South Palu District as subjects. The research instruments were interview sheets and questionnaires. The questionnaires were analyzed using an average score calculation to determine the category of obstacles, while the interview data were analyzed qualitatively through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of the questionnaire analysis showed that teacher obstacles ranged from low to very low. Among the three aspects, implementation had a relatively greater level of obstacles than planning and assessment, but remained in the low category, while planning and assessment were both in the very low category. Interviews supported these findings, namely that teachers still relied on training modules and experienced difficulties in adapting assessments to student characteristics, as well as facing limitations in facilities and technology. In general, it can be concluded that the obstacles faced by Biology teachers in implementing the Independent Curriculum in South Palu District are in the low and very low categories, but mentoring, competency strengthening, and infrastructure support are still needed so that curriculum implementation can run optimally.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Project Based Learning learning model using Mind Mapping on student learning outcomes in class VIII of SMP Negeri 5 Bolano Lambunu. This research method is a quasi-experiment (Quasi Experiment) with a Non-equivalent (Pretest and Posttest) Control Group Design. The sample of this study was 34 students, consisting of 17 students in the experimental class who used the Project Based Learning learning model using Mind Mapping and 17 students in the control class who used the conventional learning model. Data collection was carried out by conducting observations, interviews, and tests. Data analysis used prerequisite tests, namely, normality tests and homogeneity tests and hypothesis testing using the Independent Sample t-test and N-gain tests. The results of the study showed that (1) there was an effect of using the Project Based Learning learning model using Mapping on student learning outcomes. This is evidenced by a significant increase in student learning outcomes in the experimental class, with an average posttest score reaching 73.23, while the control class was only 64.70. The t-test shows a p value < 0.05, which means that the implementation of the Project Based Learning model using Mapping has a positive effect on student learning outcomes. (2) N-gain analysis shows that the experimental class has an average N-gain score of 0.65 (65%), which is included in the fairly effective category, while the control class is only 0.51 (51%), which indicates a less effective category. Thus, it can be concluded that the Project Based Learning learning model using Mind Mapping is effective and can affect student learning outcomes in the science subject of class VIII-B SMP Negeri 5 Bolano Lambunu.
