Abstract

Batik Tulis Tengah Sawah is one of the UKM in Pacitan and is engaged in hand-written batik. In the production process, the batik maker makes the canting process while sitting on a short chair (dingklik) made of wood without a backrest. The stove used to melt malam is small and there is no table to put the stove on and it is used by 2 batik makers, so it requires the batik makers to sit obliquely facing the gawangan, causing the batik maker to sit with a slight bow. Therefore, it is necessary to assess the risk level of the work posture of the batik when doing the canting process. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the work posture of the batik maker during doing the canting process so that corrective action can be taken to reduce musculoskeletal complaints and bending posture. The result of this research is that the assessment of the risk level of the work posture of batik in all stages of the canting process activity has a REBA score of 5, which is included in the moderate or medium risk level with actions that need to be corrected.

Abstract

Based on the REBA analysis, there is a risky operator work postures in the warping work station at PT. Iskandar Indah Printing Textile because they do not use work tools. The assessment of the level of work posture risk by the REBA method gets the result that the highest work element with a final score of 10 is obtained by taking warp yarn at the warping station. This study aims to produce a design tool to reduce the level of work posture risk in warping work station operators. Then the design of tools was carried out by the Pahl and Beitz method to produce three alternative product design concepts. Based on the three ideas, the best plan is chosen by using an Engineering Design Selection, and the result is the second design concept. The selected design is an adjustable trolley with a vertical screw drive system that is comfortable to use and does not cause a bending position on the operator because it has a trolley plate that can be adjusted in height as needed. The use of the trolley causes a decrease in the level of work posture risk from a high-risk level to a small risk level with a final score of 10 to 3.

Abstract

The Assembly line is the assembly process that is carried out based on the order of the production process in the production line. The problem that is often found in assembly lines is bottleneck conditions where some material piled up at the station. This situation indicates an imbalance in the production line. The improvement of the work method is one of the effective ways that can increase line efficiency. This study presents an increase in line efficiency by improving working methods in a washing machine assembly line of PT.X. The study aimed to increase the value of line efficiency by improving work methods. In this study, improvements were made using the line balancing method and Eliminate, Combine, Rearrange, Simplify (ECRS) concept. The results that have been done, the obtained value of line efficiency for washing machine products is 76.76%. This value has not reached the company's productivity target of 99.50%. Therefore it is necessary to improve the assembling line to increase the value of product production. The proposed improvements made with improvements to the work methods on the assembling line obtained 89.38% results is to increase the amount of line efficiency by improving work methods.

Abstract

Dirgantara Indonesia (PTDI) is the single source producer of the NC212i Aircraft. Almost every Aircraft is delivered to the customer over the deadline date. The existence of waste is believed to be one of causing the late delivery. Based on observations of the 117th NC212i Aircraft assembly line, which is precisely at the fuselage assembly in the paneling group, six wastes are identified: waiting, transportation, overprocessing, inventory, and motion. Waste of overproduction does not occur because PTDI applies MTO (Make to Order) system. These 6 wastes are then processed using Waste Assessment Model (WAM). The ranking result is: first place is 25% for defects, second place is 23% for waiting, third place is 17% for motion, fourth place is 15% for inventory, fifth place is 13% for transportation, sixth place is 8% for overprocessing, and seventh place is 0% for overproduction. Three critical wastes based Pareto principle can be minimized, so the delay of aircraft delivery can be reduced.

Abstract

Design thinking is a human-centered problem-solving methodology focusing on innovative solutions. Design thinking can be used to improve the user experience of a website. Design thinking consists of empathize, define, ideate, prototype, and test phase. Based on preliminary observation, the current UNS Graduation Website demonstrates significant usability issues that interrupt the user experience. The lack of error prevention and informative feedback leads to repeated mistakes and user frustration. Additionally, visual and functional inconsistencies further reduce usability. These issues were confirmed through the System Usability Scale (SUS), which yielded a low score, indicating a difficult and unpleasant user experience. To address these issues, this study applies the design thinking methodology to re-design the UNS Graduation Website with the aim of improving its usability and enhancing user experience. The prototype is tested by 20 users using usability testing tools named Maze and System Usability Scale (SUS). The result based on Maze testing, the prototype got a success rate percentage of 100% and a usability score of 85 for the UNS Graduation Website. The usability score tested by SUS also increased from 43,25 to 82. This affirms the successful outcome of the re-design in improving the user experience and increasing the usability of the UNS Graduation Website.

Abstract

The guitar industry is in Mancasan, Sukoharjo regency is a small medium enterprises which carried out finishing process to produce acoustic guitars. All of the process are done manually without any machine. There is one process called fret wire installation where the operator is in a static work posture for an extended period of time to hold the work piece. Nordic Body Map (NBM) assessment showed that almost all assessed workers have pain in hip and right upper arm. There is indication of Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDS) risk in left upper arm, back, and waist of workers who conduct fret wires installation process. This indication is confirmed using REBA. REBA Score for fret wiring operator is 10, it indicates that the investigation and modification was needed as soon as possible. This arises to a problem called workers MSDS due to awkward posture. This research aims to design an ergonomic working table to reduce the risk of musculoskeletal disorder for fret wire installation operators. REBA was used to evaluate working posture to find the specific problem. In addition, NIDA product development process and anthropometry concept were also implemented to develop working table based on the problem previously found. The result is the proposed working table which specifications are has adjustable system on the leg of the table, features a lock to hold the guitar head, a support with a pad for the neck and body of the guitar, a work tool area and a half-coil fret wire arrangement, and a curved table base so that the operator is in a comfortable position and is close to the work piece.
