Abstract

Urbanization has intensified the scarcity of green spaces and heightened psychological pressures in modern workplaces, underscoring the need for effective strategies to enhance employee well-being. This study investigates the influence of Green Spaces, Green Ambient Conditions, and Outdoor Green Environment on Employee Well-being, with Work Stress as a mediating variable. Using Covariance-Based Structural Equation Modelling (CB-SEM), data were collected from 315 office workers in Indonesia’s top 10 cities according to the 2024 Universitas Indonesia (UI) GreenCityMetric, reflecting high environmental sustainability. Results show Green Spaces have the strongest direct positive effect on Employee Well-being, while Green Ambient Conditions also contribute significantly. Outdoor Green Environment, however, does not directly affect well-being. Work Stress emerges as a key mediator, partially mediating the effect of Green Ambient Conditions and fully mediating the effect of Outdoor Green Environment on Employee Well-being. These findings highlight that fostering employee well-being requires a holistic approach, optimizing green spaces, enhancing ambient conditions, providing access to external green environments, and managing work stress, to create healthier, more sustainable workplaces.

Abstract

Love is under threat because it is no longer something precious. In a culture steeped in capitalism, love becomes a commodity. Love turns into an instrument or tool for the achievement of something else. Love is considered something that cannot be found in real life and only remains in fiction and literature. Alain Badiou's schema of mathematics as ontology demonstrates that it is still possible to put love back as part of life and that love has value. Badiou reveals that initially, love is related to the self and is not a tool or instrument for anything outside the self. Love gives value to the human appreciation of life concerning its existence.

Abstract

In a dynamic environment, the ability to work with agility, effectiveness, and efficiency is essential to the success of organizations, including public organizations. However, few studies investigate how public organizations in Indonesia apply the strategy to be agile, effective, and efficient. This article can be seen as an attempt to contribute to the Indonesian bureaucracy improvement strategy using qualitative research methods with a phenomenology approach. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that public organizations in Indonesia have implemented strategies to change the culture, structure and work systems supported by the HR management system. All of the strategies need to be carried out simultaneously.

Abstract

Purpose – This study explores the impact of job demands and job resources on task performance among Indonesian Customs officers, with burnout and work engagement as mediators.Methodology – Data were collected using purposive sampling from 463 employees of the Directorate General of Customs and Excise (DJBC). Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) was used to analyze the relationships between job demands, job resources, burnout, work engagement, and task performance.Findings – The study revealed that job resources reduce burnout and positively influence work engagement, both strongly correlating with task performance. Job demands were found to have a positive relationship with burnout and work engagement, with a moderate positive effect on task performance. Interestingly, job demands can motivate employees in certain situations, not always negatively affecting work engagement or task performance.Originality/Novelty – This research applies the Job Demands-Resources (JD-R) model to the public sector, specifically within DJBC. It provides new insights into how job demands and resources influence task performance, with a focus on burnout and work engagement.Implications – DJBC leadership should balance job demands and resources to reduce burnout, boost work engagement, and enhance task performance.

Abstract

In the logistics industry’s transformation, human resource challenges have emerged as quiet quitting, particularly among Generation Z workers. This study aims to analyze the influence of quiet firing, perceived organizational support, and psychological capital on quiet quitting levels, with employee well-being as a mediating variable. This study employs a quantitative approach, using a sample of 300 permanent Generation Z employees in port service companies selected through purposive sampling. Data were analyzed using covariance-based SEM with LISREL 8.80. The results show that quiet firing has a significant positive effect on quiet quitting behavior through the mechanism of eroding employees’ psychological resources. Conversely, perceived organizational support and psychological capital are proven to have a positive influence on enhancing employee well-being. A significant finding in this study indicates that psychological capital does not have a direct effect on suppressing quiet quitting, but rather through partial mediation by employee well-being. Furthermore, psychological capital is proven to be the strongest personal factor capable of mitigating quiet quitting tendencies. These findings imply that port management needs to integrate managerial transparency with psychological capacity building to achieve performance sustainability within the global logistics chain.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of organizational and personal factors on quiet quitting behavior with employee well-being as a mediating variable through a Systematic Literature Review approach. The study was conducted to understand the growing phenomenon of employee disengagement in modern workplaces and identify the factors contributing to reduced work involvement. The review process used the PRISMA method by collecting articles from several academic databases, including Google Scholar, Scopus, ScienceDirect, Emerald Insight, and SpringerLink. A total of 226 articles were initially identified, and after the screening and eligibility process, 10 main journal articles published between 2022–2026 were selected for analysis, supported by 17 additional references. The findings indicate that organizational factors such as perceived organizational support, workload, leadership, organizational culture, and quiet firing significantly influence employee well-being and quiet quitting behavior. Personal factors including psychological capital, motivation, emotional intelligence, and resilience also affect employees’ ability to manage stress and maintain work engagement. The study further reveals that employee well-being plays an important mediating role between organizational and personal factors and quiet quitting behavior. Employees with positive well-being tend to demonstrate stronger commitment, higher engagement, and better emotional attachment to their work. The study highlights the importance of supportive organizational practices and psychological resources in reducing quiet quitting behavior and improving employee well-being in the workplace.

Abstract

This study investigates the impact of power dynamics, gender roles, and organizational structures on extramarital affairs within professional environments. It examines how hierarchical structures and societal conventions influence relationships, frequently to the detriment of women. This research employs interdisciplinary approaches, including Marxist alienation, power-approach theory, and social identity theory, to link workplace infidelity to broader concerns of gender inequity, and corporate accountability. The study seeks to examine the influence of organizational hierarchies on workplace relationships, the significance of cultural notions such as "ibuism" and "neo-ibuism" within Indonesian society, and the psychological and professional ramifications of these dynamics. It also assesses business policies and human resources initiatives in the management of workplace relationships. A desk research analysis method is employed, examining literature from sociology, psychology, and management disciplines. Secondary data from international research offer insights into workplace infidelity and gender discrepancies. Principal themes encompass power and gender dynamics, workplace hierarchies, cultural expectations, and human resource regulations pertaining to workplace relationships. The study emphasizes the influence of authority and control on relationships, frequently resulting in exploitation, harassment, and professional stagnation for women. This study enhances gender equity, and corporate governance by promoting regulations that guarantee equitable and secure professional environments. It advocates for a decentralized, decolonized, and gender-sensitive approach to workplace relations, highlighting the necessity for ethical business frameworks that avert exploitation and foster diversity and equality.

Abstract

Alain Badiou's mathematical philosophy generated sustained controversy because it assigned axiomatic set theory a constitutive role in ontology and used mathematical concepts to rethink being, multiplicity, truth, and event. Previous debates had often evaluated these issues separately, leaving the relationship between mathematical rigor and philosophical appropriation insufficiently clarified. This study aimed to critically reconstruct the major controversies surrounding Badiou's mathematical philosophy by examining three interconnected problems: mathematics as ontology, being as multiplicity, and the event. The study employed a qualitative philosophical-textual design using conceptual analysis, critical textual interpretation, and comparative philosophical analysis. Being and Event and Badiou's published responses to critics were examined alongside mathematically informed critiques and philosophical commentaries. The sources were analyzed through close reading, comparative conceptual analysis, and source triangulation. The findings showed that the main disputes arose from differences between the technical meanings of mathematical concepts and the philosophical functions Badiou assigned to them. The study found that mathematics as ontology did not entail a literal identity between mathematical objects and beings, that Badiou's rejection of the One concerned ontological unity rather than numerical singularity, and that the contingency of the event did not necessarily imply political fatalism because transformation also depended on fidelity and sustained construction. The study concluded that Badiou's philosophy was best understood through formal conditioning, rather than literal equivalence or unrestricted metaphorization, between mathematics and philosophy. The study contributed an integrated interpretation of Badiou's ontology by connecting debates on mathematics, being, and event within a single analytical framework and clarifying how mathematical formalization could condition philosophical thought without collapsing the distinction between the two domains.
