Abstract

Rumah Lontiok is a traditional Malay house in Kampar Regency. One of the Rumah Lontioks that exists as residences and tourist attractions is the Rumah Lontiok in Kampung Pulau Belimbing which is a hundred years old. However, currently, there is damage in the spatial layout of the Rumah Lontiok area which is characterized by not placing the building according to its original condition. This will eliminate the value of the cultural significance of the Rumah Lontiok area. The purpose of this writing is to obtain a conservation plan for the arrangement of the Rumah Lontiok area. The method used is qualitative descriptive. The author conducted an interview, excavated historical information, and observed the state of the Rumah Lontiok area. The results obtained are the concept of adaptive use in area conservation by restoring buildings to their original state and adding tourist facilities to support cultural tourism activities in the Rumah Loniok area.

Abstract

Schizophrenia is a neurological disorder and a serious type of mental illness that affects the patient's perception, thinking, language, emotions, and social behavior. Communicating with individuals suffering from schizophrenia requires special techniques because they tend to experience self-concept issues, immerse themselves in their own world, and exhibit physical well-being but mental unhealthiness. Effective communication with schizophrenia patients necessitates skilled nursing techniques and the ability to communicate effectively. From the perspective of communication science, the relationship between the nurse and the patient falls under interpersonal communication, or from the standpoint of health communication, it is therapeutic communication. The communication between the nurse and the patient creates interpersonal interaction using linguistic symbol systems, such as verbal and nonverbal systems. This study aims to describe and analyze interpersonal communication between nurses and Schizophrenia patients at Rumah Sakit Jiwa in the Riau Province. The research utilizes a case study method. The results show that the interpersonal communication used by nurses with schizophrenia patients at Tampan Mental Hospital in the Riau Province involves empathy, positive attention, and sincere acceptance demonstrated through both verbal and nonverbal forms. This fosters trust and openness in patients towards nurses, ultimately contributing to the improvement of schizophrenia patients' healing process.

Abstract

Kasus Bullying masih sering terjadi di sekolah dasar hingga saat ini. Hal ini menunjukkan pentingnya pendidikan yang dapat membantu siswa memahami bahaya dan cara mencegah bullying.  Untuk mendukung poin ke-4 SDGs tentang Pendidikan Berkualitas dan poin ke-16 SDGs tentang Perdamaian, Keadilan, dan Kelembagaan yang Tangguh, Kelompok Kuliah Kerja Nyata Kelurahan Sri Meranti mengadakan penyuluhan tentang "Stop Bullying". Tujuan dari kegiatan ini adalah untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan siswa kelas VI SDN 166 Pekanbaru tentang anti-bullying. Kegiatan sosialisasi “Stop Bullying” ini memanfaatkan pendekatan kuantitatif melalui penggunaan instrument evaluasi yang berupa pre-test dan pos-test untuk melihat gambaran perubahan pengetahuan siswa sebelum dan setelah kegiatan berlangsung. Sebanyak 33 siswa mengikuti sosialisasi dan mengikuti tes objektif sebelum dan sesudah kegiatan. Hasil menunjukkan nilai rata-rata siswa meningkat dari 84,24 menjadi 95,76. Hal ini menandai bahwa siswa sudah lebih memahami mengenai bentuk, dampak, dan pencegahan bullying. Hasil evaluasi kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa sosialisasi yang disampaikan secara edukatif dan interaktif dapat mendorong pemahaman dan pengetahuan siswa serta mendukung terciptanya lingkungan belajar yang lebih aman. Di masa mendatang, kegiatan serupa dapat diperluas jangkauannya dan disertai pemantauan lanjutan untuk memperkuat dampak perubahan perilaku siswa.

Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi digital yang pesat menuntut pelajar untuk memiliki kesadaran etis dalam berinteraksi di dunia maya. Rendahnya tingkat literasi digital di kalangan remaja seringkali memunculkan perilaku daring yang tidak bertanggung jawab, seperti penyebaran informasi palsu dan pelanggaran privasi. Menanggapi hal tersebut, mahasiswa Kukerta MBKM Ilmu Komunikasi Universitas Riau melaksanakan kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat di MTs Darul Ridho Pekanbaru pada tanggal 24 dan 31 Oktober 2025 dengan tema “Jejak Digital Menentukan Reputasimu.” Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman siswa mengenai konsep jejak digital serta menanamkan nilai etika dalam penggunaan media sosial melalui pendekatan THINK (True, Helpful, Inspiring, Necessary, Kind). Metode pelaksanaan dilakukan secara luring dengan diskusi interaktif yang melibatkan 90 siswa dari kelas VII, VIII, dan IX. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pemahaman siswa terhadap pentingnya menjaga jejak digital dan berperilaku bijak di media sosial. Faktor pendukung keberhasilan kegiatan ini adalah antusiasme siswa dan dukungan penuh pihak sekolah. Secara keseluruhan, kegiatan ini memberikan dampak positif dalam membangun kesadaran literasi digital dan etika komunikasi di kalangan pelajar madrasah.

Abstract

This study examines the cultural adaptation dynamics of Indonesian students facing culture shock in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), an environment blending religious identity with multiculturalism. Using a qualitative approach based on Oberg’s culture shock theory and Kim’s adaptation model, this research uncovers how students navigate cultural disorientation. Findings reveal that while shared religious values offer psychological comfort during the honeymoon phase, they cannot fully mitigate interactional barriers in the crisis phase caused by dialectal differences, contrasting social norms, and local communication styles. Ethnic community support and flexible interaction strategies mediate the recovery phase, ultimately culminating in the formation of a hybrid identity during the adjustment stage. Successful adaptation in the UAE depends on identity transformation, communicative competence, and emotional resilience, without losing one's cultural roots. This study provides practical insights for prospective international students navigating Middle Eastern social complexities. Abstract

Tourism villages have emerged as strategic instruments for inclusive rural development by integrating cultural preservation, natural resource management, and local economic empowerment. This study examines the development of Okura Tourism Village in Pekanbaru, Indonesia, through the integration of sociopreneurship and the pentahelix governance framework. Employing a qualitative design combining a systematic literature review and field-based inquiry, the research analyzes tourism potentials, community-based enterprises, and multi-actor collaboration dynamics. Findings indicate that Okura possesses strong natural and cultural assets, including river tourism, agro-tourism, cycling trails, and Malay cultural heritage. Community-driven enterprises—such as ginger candy (ting jahe), palm-rib handicrafts, instant ginger powder, and ketupat belacan—demonstrate sociopreneurial characteristics by integrating economic and social values. However, structural constraints persist, including limited digital literacy, lack of certification, weak branding, and managerial gaps. IFAS and EFAS analyses reveal moderate internal strength (2.70) and favorable external conditions (3.10), suggesting significant growth potential if institutional weaknesses are addressed. This study proposes a Sociopreneurship–Pentahelix Model to foster sustainable and inclusive tourism village development. The research contributes to the discourse on community-based tourism governance by offering an integrated and replicable framework for rural innovation.
