Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe community involvement in the development of Kragilan Top Selfie Pinusan tourist destinations (TSPK) and explain the role of Tourism Awareness Groups (Pokdarwis) in developing TSPK tourist destinations. This study uses the concept of Community-Based Tourism (CBT) as an analytical framework. The method used in this study is a qualitative research method. Data collection techniques were carried out by observation, documentation, and in-depth interviews with parties related to TSPK tourist destinations. The results of the study indicate that community participation in the process of developing the TSPK was encouraged by the local community namely Pokdarwis (tourism-aware group). Pokdarwis, in this case, plays a role in the division of labor; financial management; and managing cleanliness. Pokdarwis conducts division of labor to encourage community participation. The forms of community participation in TSPK include workforce and the contribution of ideas in developing TSPK. Next, the existence of TSPK also empowers the economy of the people in Kragilan Hamlet. Pokdarwis also empowers the community to manage the environment around the destination. Then TSPK shows that the CBT model that is different from CBT in general, in TSPK empowerment is carried out independently by Pokdarwis. Only after Pokdarwis initiated this empowerment and brought economic benefits, the government (Gunung Merbabu National Park Office) took part in helping TSPK management. Keywords: Community Based Tourism (CBT); Community Engagement; Participation; Top Selfie Pinusan Kragilan (TSPK).

Abstract

Poverty is a long-term problem in economic development in a country, especially developing countries. This study aims to analyze the effect of economic growth, population, the number of unemployed (TPT), minimum wage, and human development index (IPM) on poverty in Bali Province. The approach used in this research is quantitative with secondary data obtained from the Indonesian Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) for 2015-2020. The method used to analyze the factors that influence poverty in Bali Province is panel data regression. Based on the results of the study showed that partial economic growth has no effect on poverty. This condition occurs because economic growth in Bali Province has not been inclusive. The minimum wage and the Human Development Index have a negative effect on poverty so an increase in the minimum wage and the HDI will reduce poverty significantly. The number of unemployed and the total population have a positive effect on poverty in the Province of Bali. Simultaneously economic growth, population, number of unemployed (TPT), minimum wage, and human development index (IPM) have a significant effect on poverty in Bali Province.

Abstract

Abstract

This study analyzed the effect of export, investment, inflation, and unemployment to the constant gross domestic product (GDP) used to see the economic growth in Indonesia in 1990 to 2020. Time series data in this study are analyzed using ECM (Error Correction Model) to investigate the long-run and short-run effects of the independent variables, including export, investment, inflation, and unemployment, on GDP. The results suggest that there is no evidence to conclude that export affects GDP significantly in both long-run and short-run period. In terms of short-run period, investment gives positif effects on GDP, but inflation and unemployment are associated with negatif effects on GDP. Regarding long-run period, only investment and inflation significantly gives positive effects on GDP

The seaweed farming workers at Randusanga Wetan and Kulon village were facing a problem which also affecting their welfare, mainly their income. They could not decide their exact income because of their employment status, production and price instability. Coping strategy, which had been implemented, was one way to solve their problem as it made a connection and an active strategy. The form of ‘connection’ negotiated the portion of profit-sharing and enabled a household to borrow some money. Then, the active strategy was implemented by wild crab fishing, involving family member, intercropping with fish, working for 2-3 farmers, and utilizing ‘sumpil’. This way, they could achieve a good welfare while at the same time, kept producing for their income.
