Abstract

This study examines the transformation of journalistic practices in response to digital media developments, focusing on Sriwijaya Post and Sripoku.com. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through interviews and observations with journalists at both the field and editorial levels. The findings reveal that media convergence has significantly impacted journalistic workflows, necessitating journalists to adopt multimedia skills, including video production, real-time reporting, and social media engagement. This transformation involves structural and strategic newsroom changes to facilitate cross-platform content production. As part of a regional media network, Sriwijaya Post and Sripoku.com have embraced digital platforms for content delivery and as a primary revenue stream, particularly through services such as Google AdSense. The study contributes to a deeper understanding of how regional media in Indonesia navigate the challenges of digital convergence while maintaining journalistic integrity and sustaining their role in a rapidly evolving media ecosystem.

Abstract

The development of information technology has brought significant changes to various sectors of life, including the world of libraries. With the rapid innovation in technology, various aspects of library services have now been transformed thru digitalization, enabling faster access to information. Nevertheless, many libraries still rely on non-digital lending systems. This research aims to design and develop a persuasive technology prototype for the Bina Darma University library website, integrating a Collaborative Filtering-based recommendation system to provide relevant book recommendations based on user preferences. The research methods used include usability testing and the Perceived Persuasiveness Questionnaire (PPQ) to evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of the system. The research results show that the system prototype successfully improved effectiveness, with a success rate of 97.5%, efficiency of 88%, and a System Usability Scale (SUS) score of 79, indicating that the system is user-friendly and effective in changing user behavior toward technology-based book borrowing

Abstract

This study evaluates the effectiveness of the governance practices at STIK Bina Husada through the lens of COBIT 2019, aiming to identify critical process objectives and assess capability levels related to academic governance. The research problem centers on the alignment of institutional practices with established standards to enhance strategic management, innovation, and continuity. A mixed-methods approach was employed, utilizing questionnaires and activity analysis to evaluate the current capability levels of specific focus areas, namely APO02 (Managed Strategy), APO04 (Managed Innovation), and DSS04 (Managed Continuity). Participants included key stakeholders involved in the governance processes at STIK Bina Husada. The findings revealed that while APO02 achieved a capability level of 79.36% (largely achieved), it fell short of the desired fully achieved status. Conversely, APO04 demonstrated a capability of 100% at level one, indicating full achievement, but only a 68.12% capability at level two, which remains largely achieved. DSS04 also showed a similar pattern as APO04, with both objectives needing improvement to reach level three capabilities. The gap analysis highlighted a discrepancy of two levels between the current and desired capabilities for APO02, APO04, and DSS04.This evaluation marks the first comprehensive assessment of STIK Bina Husada's academic governance quality against the COBIT 2019 framework, emphasizing the need for continued improvement to meet strategic objectives. The implications of this research suggest that adopting structured frameworks like COBIT can significantly enhance management practices in academic settings.

Abstract

Employee discipline is a very important factor in achieving the desired organizational goals and needs to be evaluated and improved. This study aims to explain the optimization of the role of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) to improve employee work discipline at the Language Center of South Sumatra Province. The survey method was used in this study by taking a random sample of 10 respondents from the population of employees of the Language Center of South Sumatra Province who were selected by purposive sampling technique. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistical techniques and simple linear regression. The results of the study show that overall, the work discipline of employees at the South Sumatra Province Language Center is at a good level. However, several factors such as information technology capabilities, especially in optimizing the use of fingerprint attendance machines, work motivation, supervision, and work environment affect employee work discipline. This study recommends increasing work motivation and more effective supervision to improve employee work discipline by optimizing the use of information and communication technology that already exists at the Language Center of South Sumatra Province. Optimizing the use of information technology, especially in the use of fingerprint attendance machines, can significantly increase employee productivity and performance as well as improve the performance of the South Sumatra Province Language Center in providing better services to the community.

Abstract

Making medical decisions while distracted when receiving COVID-19 misinformation can majorly impact a person's life and even lead to death. Blatantly sharing COVID-19 misinformation is a significant problem of human behavior that triggers a speed-up and acceleration in the propagation and diffusion of misinformation in social media. While the latest research has focused on understanding the psychological dimensions of this phenomenon, few studies have explored the role of selective exposure and technological prevention when a person considers sharing COVID-19 misinformation, primarily through an Implicit Association Test (IAT). Our study identified and intervened in the association of user exposure between misinformation and implicit truth evaluations by using the Implicit Association Test (IAT) with "Misinformation vs. Fact Information or Positive vs. Negative Words”, 38 from 150 participants were either exposed to misinformation headlines or actual new headline posts on stimulants, in the form of images. We then measured participants' implicit truth evaluations and self-reported perceived accuracies of actual and of misinformation headlines using the Visual Selective Attention System (VSAS). After intervening, participants exposed to fake news headlines had lower implicit truth evaluations and increased perceived accuracy. This implies that exposure to fake news headlines after the intervention with the VSAS system may have directly affected implicit evaluations and changed user behavior in sharing COVID-19 misinformation.
