Abstract

In Indonesia, apples are one of the types of fruit that are widely cultivated and widely consumed as processed foods, such as apple cider vinegar CV Sinar Tirta Indonesia, a producer of apple cider vinegar, consistently yields apple pulp as a by-product. In addition to apple cider vinegar, the processing process produces apple pulp by-products. Apple pulp by-products, which consist of pulp and skin that has extraordinary nutrition, make it very suitable to be processed into useful food. Innovation is needed so that apple pulp by-products are not only used for animal feed mixtures that have low selling value. To realize the processing of waste-based products, it must be able to change the by-product into a product that has the maximum possible economic value, as shown in this community service activity, namely changing the by-product of apple vinegar into flour and ingredients for making cookies that were attended by the surrounding community, students, employees, and business actors. This training provides direct benefits to participants, namely gaining new knowledge about how to process apple pulp into functional food ingredients. This training proves that processing apple pulp with current technology is easy to do and produces a high-value product.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap secara sistematis cara nilai-nilai moral diartikulasikan dalam lirik lagu “Ghibah” karya Rhoma Irama. Kajian nilai moral dan kritik sosial dalam lirik lagu ini dilakukan dengan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif-analitis. Analisis ini merujuk pada teori sastra, semiotika, perspektif sosial, serta perspektif agama Islam. Pendekatan-pendekatan tersebut digunakan untuk mendalami penggunaan metafora, simbolisme, dan retorika dalam lirik lagu tersebut dapat membentuk pesan moral yang mendalam. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa lagu “Ghibah” tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai sarana hiburan, tetapi juga sebagai medium yang efektif dalam menyampaikan kritik terhadap praktek mengungkap aib yang sering terjadi dalam masyarakat. Rhoma Irama mengajak pendengar untuk menolak perilaku “Ghibah” dan sekaligus mengarahkan perhatian pada pentingnya introspeksi diri dan kesadaran moral dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Pesan moral yang terkandung dalam lagu ini mengajak pendengar untuk melakukan refleksi diri, menolak budaya “ghibah”, serta menginternalisasi nilai-nilai keadilan, kejujuran, dan toleransi. Kesimpulannya, lagu “Ghibah” mampu menyampaikan kritik moral secara mendalam melalui penggunaan bahasa yang kaya akan metafora, retorika, dan simbolisme. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi pada pemahaman lebih luas mengenai keterkaitan antara seni musik, nilai-nilai moral, dan kritikan sosial dalam konteks budaya Indonesia.Kata kunci: Kritik Sosial, Lirik Lagu, Moral

Abstract

One of the producers of apple cider vinegar is CV Sinar Tirta Indonesia, which is located in Malang. Apple cider vinegar produces a by-product in the form of apple pulp. Innovation is needed so that apple pulp by-products are not only used for animal feed mixtures that have low selling value. Apple pulp by-products, which consists of pulp and skin that has extraordinary nutrition, makes it very suitable to be processed into useful food. To achieve environmentally friendly product processing, it must be able to change by-products into products with economic value as much as possible, as shown in this community service activity, by changing apple cider vinegar by-products into flour and ingredients for making cookies.

Abstract

Propolis merupakan produk hasil lebah yang mengandung komponen bioaktif bermanfaat, seperti senyawa polifenol, fenol, terpenoid, karoten, vitamin, mineral, dan asam organik. Propolis bermanfaat sebagai antibakterial dan anti-virus. Propolis diekstraksi untuk diambil menjadi sediaan bahan baku. Kandungan aktif dalam ekstrak propolis dapat membunuh bakteri penyebab plak gigi yang mengakibatkan gigi berlubang. Fluorid sebagai salah satu bahan dalam pasta gigi yang bermanfaat untuk plak gigi, namun fluorid termasuk bahan kimia yang dapat merusak lapisan gigi, sehingga dibutuhkan bahan aktif anti-plak pasta gigi yang berasal dari bahan alami, seperti ekstrak propolis. Pelatihan ini bertujuan memberikan inovasi dan melatih masyarakat terhadap diversifikasi propolis dan pembuatan pasta gigi dengan manfaat anti-plak dan anti-karies. Metode pengabdian yang dilakukan terdiri dari persiapan (mengumpulkan data kendala dan potensi), penyuluhan dan sosialisasi pelatihan, dan evaluasi kegiatan dengan interaksi langsung kepada para peserta. Setelah penelitian, peserta dapat mengetahui pemanfaatan propolis hingga mengolahnya menjadi bahan baku pasta gigi. Peserta menilai ekstrak propolis ini berpotensi juga untuk bahan kosmetik lain dan bisa dikomersialkan.

Abstract

A total number of people living with HIV reached since it was first reported. Indonesia is on the brink of rapidly worsening AIDS epidemic. Oral health was a frequent problem among HIV-infected person. Opportunistic oral lesions and infections were often one of the first manifestations of HIV. The aim of this literature review was to discuss complication risks and management undergoing invasive dental procedures. Thereby, dentists have been expected to increase awareness of dental treatment needs for HIV-infected patients by pay attention to applied standard procedure. The complications of HIV-infected patients were reported minor, self-limiting, non-life threatening and readily treated. Treatment planning for the patient with HIV follows the same sequences as with other patients priorities are to assuage pain, restore function, prevent further disease and consider esthetic results. We concluded that no different complication risks between HIV-infected and non-infected. Dentists can provide care for HIV-infected patients with assessing the current immunosuppression stage, intake systemic medications, opportunistic infection potential and minimize contagion possibility to dental care professional or other patients.

Abstract

Abstrak: Seiring bertambahnya usia, lansia rentan mengalami berbagai masalah kesehatan gigi dan mulut. Umumnya masyarakat beranggapan bahwa masalah gigi merupakan bagian alami dari proses penuaan, dan lebih parah jika masyarakat beranggapan bahwa masalah gigi dan mulut merupakan hal yang sepele. Sehingga kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan edukasi kesehatan dan penyakit mulut bagi para lansia terkait penyakit sistemik. Pelaksanaan kegiatan dilakukan dengan metode sosialisasi kemudian dilanjutkan dengan pemeriksaan kesehatan. Tim pelaksana kegiatan terdiri dari 7 Dosen FKG UB, 20 Mahasiswa FKG UB, sedangkan mitra sekaligus peserta sebanyak 44 orang lansia yang berasal dari Desa Sumberejo dan Desa Kalisongo. Sistem evaluasi menggunakan kuesioner untuk mengukur tingkat pemahaman peserta sebelum dan sesudah kegiatan. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pemahaman peserta yang signifikan, seperti pengetahuan tentang diabetes mellitus dan dampaknya terhadap kesehatan mulut. Responden yang menyatakan "tahu," awalnya sebanyak 11 responden meningkat drastis menjadi 33 responden (50%). Secara garis besar kegiatan edukasi tentang kesehatan gigi dan mulut dalam kegiatan pengabdian ini mampu memberikan dampak positif. Tim pengabdian berharap, kegiatan pengabdian ini dapat mendorong perubahan perilaku menuju praktik kebersihan gigi dan mulut yang lebih baik.Abstract: As people age, the elderly become increasingly susceptible to various dental and oral health problems. Generally, people assume that dental problems are a natural part of the ageing process, and it is worse if people assume that dental and oral problems are trivial. So this community service activity aims to provide health and oral disease education for the elderly regarding systemic diseases. The implementation of the activity was carried out using the dissemination method and then continued with a health check. The activity implementation team consists of 7 FKG UB lecturers, 20 FKG UB students, while the partners and participants are 44 elderly people from Sumberejo Village and Kalisongo Village. The evaluation system uses a questionnaire to measure participants' level of understanding before and after the activity. The evaluation results showed a significant increase in participants' understanding, such as knowledge about diabetes mellitus and its impact on oral health. Respondents who stated "know," initially 11 respondents, increased drastically to 33 respondents (50%). Generally, educational activities about dental and oral health in this community service activity were able to provide a positive impact. The community service team hopes that this community service activity can encourage behavioural changes towards better dental and oral hygiene practices.
