Abstract

Sign language applications are designed to facilitate deaf people in communicating. Deaf people experience hearing impairment or loss of hearing function that is congenital or appears due to certain factors, such as infection or long-term exposure to loud noises. As a result of hearing limitations, they experience difficulties in speaking or hearing, so they are taught sign language in schools which makes it easier for them to communicate. Sign language is a means of communication that uses lip movements, body movements or facial expressions in order to convey communication messages quickly. Sign language applications are built using the RAD (Rapid Application Development) method because in the process of making applications, it can be done in a short and fast time and ensures adjustment of features from users. Android is used in the process of making this application, because of its wide use and easy access. This application provides a sign language translation feature in the form of videos so that it is easy to understand for deaf people.

Abstract

This research discusses the development, testing, and deployment of a backend API using Google Cloud Platform (GCP), with Firestore as the database and Cloud Storage for storing user profile photos. The API was developed using Express.js, integrated with Firestore and Cloud Storage, and tested for functionality using Postman. Deployment is done to Cloud Run via creating a Dockerfile and building a Docker image. Test results showed that the API was able to handle 7,875 requests in five minutes, with an average of 25.64 requests per second and an average response time of 97 ms. All endpoints are stable, responsive, and error-free. This research focuses on the application of cloud technology to the development of sign language applications, and shows that the use of GCP services can produce efficient and scalable API solutions. These results are significant in supporting the development of cloud-based applications to meet user needs effectively, especially in mobile applications that require reliable backend services.

Abstract

The increasing need for clean water along with population growth is a challenge for the provision of drinking water services, especially in North Central Timor Regency. The Tirta Cendana Regional Drinking Water Company (PDAM) plays an important role in meeting this need, although water availability is influenced by rainfall and population. The aim of this research is to develop an information system that predicts clean water usage based on the number of customers using a simple linear regression method. The system was designed using the waterfall method and integrated into a WebGIS platform to manage water supply and usage data, and also provides a visualization of water demand in different locations. This research aims to assist PDAM Tirta Cendana in planning water production and improving services to customers, as well as supporting water resource management by local governments to meet community needs in the future.

Abstract

Industri peternakan ayam potong di Kabupaten Timor Tengah Utara memiliki peran penting dalam pemenuhan kebutuhan makanan, khususnya dalam penyediaan protein hewani bagi masyarakat. Namun, distribusinya sering mengalami kendala akibat minimnya informasi mengenai lokasi peternakan, sehingga pembeli dan pemasok hanya terbatas pada sumber tertentu. Hal ini menghambat efisiensi distribusi dan memperlambat proses pemasokan. Untuk mengatasi permasalahan ini, dikembangkan sistem informasi geografis berbasis website yang dapat  memetakan lokasi peternakan ayam potong di wilayah Kabupaten Timor Tengah Utara. Sistem ini menerapkan metode prototype, yang memungkinkan pengembangan dilakukan secara bertahap dengan melibatkan umpan balik dari pengguna, seperti peternak, pembeli, dan admin. Prototipe awal diuji dan disempurnakan berdasarkan masukan pengguna agar sistem lebih sesuai dengan kebutuhan mereka. Pengembangan  sistem ini menggunakan PHP sebagai bahasa pemrograman dan MySQL sebagai basis data untuk menyimpan dan mengelola informasi lokasi peternakan secara terstruktur. Sistem informasi geografis berbasis website ini telah diuji menggunakan metode black box testing ke 10 peternak sebagai calon pengguna. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa fungsional sistem atau fitur-fitur pada sistem  berjalan sesuai fungsi atau mencapai 100% keberhasilannya. Sehingga sistem ini memberikan kemudahan bagi pengguna untuk mengakses informasi mengenai lokasi peternakan ayam potong dan berpotensi mendukung proses distribusi menjadi lebih efisien.   The broiler chicken farming industry in North Central Timor Regency plays an important role in meeting food needs, especially in providing animal protein for the community. However, its distribution is often constrained by the lack of information about the location of the farm, so that buyers and suppliers are limited to certain sources. This hinders distribution efficiency and slows down the supply process. To overcome this problem, a website-based geographic information system was developed that can map the location of broiler chicken farms in the North Central Timor Regency area. This system applies the prototype method, which allows development to be carried out in stages by involving feedback from users, such as farmers, buyers, and admins. The initial prototype was tested and refined based on user input so that the system better suits their needs. The development of this system uses the PHP programming language and MySQL database to store and manage farm location information in a structured manner. With this website-based geographic information system, users can easily access information about the location of broiler chicken farms, so that the distribution process becomes more efficient. In addition, farmers can increase the visibility of their businesses and expand the market.

Abstract

Accurate sales prediction is a critical challenge in business decision-making, as factors such as data imbalance, outliers, and overfitting may compromise the reliability of predictive models. This study aims to develop a precise model for predicting card sales using the K-Nearest Neighbor (KNN) algorithm and to offer recommendations for improving prediction quality by addressing issues related to data imbalance and overfitting. The KNN algorithm is applied to analyze a card sales dataset, with preprocessing steps that include detecting missing values, handling outliers, and converting the target attribute into a categorical format. The optimal value of k is identified using the elbow method to determine the model's best accuracy. Findings indicate that the KNN model with k = 1 achieves 100% accuracy, though it shows signs of overfitting, which may hinder its generalizability to new data. Handling outliers and transforming data contributed to improving the model's performance. However, to enhance robustness, further testing with different k values and the use of cross-validation are recommended. Moreover, balancing the dataset and incorporating external variables such as promotional activities or market trends could support more reliable future predictions.

Abstract

Informasi terkait pemetaan penyakit demam berdarah Dengue masih kurang informatif dibeberapa daerah Indonesia. Penyajian informasi secara informatif dapat memberikan masukan bagi pengambilan keputusan. Perkembangan teknologi informasi dan komunikasi yang semakin meningkat, membuat sistem pemetaan data secara visual berbasis wilayah sangat dibutuhkan. Penelitian ini mengembangkan sistem informasi geografis untuk pemetaan penyakit demam berdarah Dengue di Kabupaten Malaka dengan menggunakan metode Rapid Application Development. Sasaran utama dari penelitian ini adalah menentukan dan memvisualisasikan lokasi persebaran kasus DBD serta wilayah endemis berdasarkan data yang tersedia. Dalam penelitian ini, pendekatan yang digunakan mencakup aktivitas pengumpulan data koordinat kasus DBD menggunakan perangkat GIS, pengolahan data dengan metode Rapid Application Development, serta analisis pola persebaran penyakit untuk mengetahui daerah dengan tingkat risiko tinggi. Hasil dari studi ini adalah peta digital yang menggambarkan distribusi kasus demam berdarah di Kabupaten Malaka. Peta ini dapat digunakan sebagai dasar untuk perencanaan strategi pencegahan dan pengendalian DBD secara lebih efektif

Abstract

Fresh water fish pond information spreading over North Central Timor is still very limited to be known by the community. The hardship to obtain the location impacts the fish farmers in doing the transaction with their consumers. This research is conducted with the aim of developing Geographic Information System to the public so that they can easily find the spreading of fish pond locations, particularly around the North Central Timor Regency. The fish pond information system being developed in this research is called SITAMIA. The SITAMIA information system is able to spread information on fish pond, fish products being sold, fish pond location, the distance between buyers and sellers, and the navigation map to the fish selling area. Prototype method is utilized as the roadmap in developing the SITAMIA. The usage of this method is due to its prototype implementation is in line with the users’ need in the community. The development and the application adjustment of this method are based upon the SITAMIA users’ inputs. There are five stages in prototype method namely: Communication, Quick Plan, Modelling Quick Design, Prototype, Deployment Delivery and Feedback. Black box method was employed in website testing where each function of the system was tested. The test result showed that SITAMIA could manage and perform information as expected.

Abstract

Beasiswa Bidik Misi/KIP Kuliah menjadi salah satu program Pemerintah untuk membantu mahasiswa yang kurang mampu namun berprestasi agar dapat mengenyam pendidikan tinggi. Universitas Timor menjadi salah satu penyelenggara Bidik Misi/KIP Kuliah. Namun proses penentuan penerima Bidik Misi/KIP Kuliah masih dilakukan secara konvensional sehingga membutuhkan waktu yang lama dan proses yang rumit. Dibutuhkan solusi yang tepat agar seleksi dan penentuan calon penerima beasiswa bidik misi dapat berjalan lebih efektif dan efisien. Sistem Pendukung Keputusan dengan metode Simple Addictive Weighting berusaha memberikan rekomendasi kepada pengambil keputusan dalam penentuan penerima beasiswa Bidik Misi/KIP Kuliah. Abstract

Dalam penelitian ini, peneliti mengacu pada beberapa penelitian sebelumnya yang memiliki kesamaan dengan penelitian yang peneliti lakukan.Permasalahan ini dapat diselesaikan dengan membangun sebuah aplikasi Sistem Pendukung Keputusan (SPK) menggunakan metode Analitycal Hierarchy Process (AHP). Pada penelitian ini, metode Analitycal Hierarchy Process (AHP) digunakan untuk memberikan rekomendasi berupa pegawai berprestasi berdasarkan peringkat. Pemberian peringkat ditujukan untuk pegawai yang berhak mendapat promosi jabatan atau mendapatkan bonus. Kriteria penilaian yang digunakan ialah kualitas, kedisiplinan, etika dan loyalitas dengan menerapkan metode Analitycal Hierarchy Process (AHP) pada proses penilaian kinerja pegawai RSUD Kefamenanu.
