Abstract

The shift from face-to-face learning to online learning during the COVID-19 pandemic has made printed teaching materials irrelevant. Teaching materials in online learning need to be designed to be more interactive in the form of electronic teaching materials in order to create two-way communication between teaching materials and students because online learning requires maximum learning autonomy from students. The irrelevance of existing teaching materials causes various learning problems in primary schools such as the teaching materials used do not encourage students' willingness to learn, some students experience learning backwards, and teachers need extra time to correct students' assignments. This study aims to develop electronic student worksheets based on Problem Based Learning (PBL) in primary schools. This development research refers to the ADDIE model as the model consists of systematic stages in an effort to solve learning problems according to the characteristics of the learner. The subjects of this study were 40 grade 3 students of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (Islamic Primary School) Pembangunan Lamongan. The results showed 1) the validity of the electronic student worksheets in the very valid category based on the assessments of linguists, material experts, design experts, and learning experts, 2) The attractiveness of electronic student worksheets in the very interesting category. Based on the results of this study, the use of electronic student worksheets is appropriate to be used to support the thematic learning process.

Abstract

Phet simulation is a computer-based practicum simulation medium that helps to increase students’ engagement and understanding through concept visualization. Even though there have been numerous studies on the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) related to Phet simulation, the TAM study of Phet simulation combined with certain learning methods is rarely observed. We propose an advanced version of TAM by including the external variables of system quality, user characteristics, and instructor. This study is a quantitative design with a descriptive, explanatory type. This model was tested using an online questionnaire disseminated to 49 students that finished taking basic natural sciences subjects using Phet simulation based on problem-based learning. The result showed that system quality has an effect on perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use has an effect on behavioral intention of use, behavioral intention of use has an effect on actual usage, and there is no relationship between instructor quality on perceived usefulness. Grit on perceived ease of use, learner anxiety, and perceived usefulness on the behavioral intention of use. These findings have implications regarding user acceptance of Phet simulation combined with certain learning methods, specifically problem-based learning.

Abstract

Teachers are professional educators tasked with carrying out quality learning and developing their professionalism to improve the quality of education. Classroom Action Research (CAR) can be used as a teaching tool in order to overcome learning loss in education during the covid pandemic while at the same time developing professionalism. Theoretical, cognitive and technical knowledge is a source of obstacles for teachers of SDN 1 Sukomulyo in implementing CAR. This problem urges teachers at SDN 1 Sukomulyo to receive CAR training. The Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach is used to find practical solutions to improve teacher problems in CAR. The PAR approach to this community service consists of the following seven steps: 1) Re-mapping and identifying problems with the problems faced by the community, 2) Focus Group Discussion and problem analysis (joint meeting), 3) Preparatory stage for program action according to the results of the problem analysis carried out with the assisted subjects, 4) Program Socialization, 5) Program Implementation, 6) Monitoring, and 7) Program Evaluation. The results of the training showed an increase in pre-training mastery (theoretical, cognitive and technical) of SDN 1 Sukomulyo teachers by 62% in the "less positive" category to 73% in the "positive" category after training with an increase of 31% in the medium category. Teachers also responded positively to the implementation of CAR training by 98%.

Abstract

The essential need for character education development in the Operational Curriculum of Educational Units (KOSP) at SDN 3 Pagentan and SDN 2 Wonorejo is evident. However, the existing KOSP documents, initially adapted from another school due to a lack of knowledge in KOSP development, do not fully align with the characteristics and needs of the school community. This service empowers teachers in both schools to enhance their understanding of KOSP and develop documents enriched with the Strengthening Project for the Profile of Pancasila-Rahmatan lil Alamin Students (P5-RA), considering each school's unique characteristics and needs. Using a participatory action research (PAR) approach, the service involves problem identification, analysis, action preparation, program socialisation, implementation, and monitoring and evaluation. The instruments include tests and assessment rubrics, revealing a significant improvement in teachers' knowledge of KOSP, with scores increasing from 71 to 80 in the moderate category. The service activities also produce a grand design of character integrated into KOSP documents enriched with P5-RA, developed by teachers in both schools based on their unique characteristics and needs. In summary, this service positively impacts teachers' knowledge and optimises the availability of KOSP documents enriched with P5-RA as guidelines for strengthening character education in schools.
