Abstract

Keberadaan media sosial memberikan kemampuan untuk memperluas volume informasi untuk menjadikan individu memegang kontrol yang lebih besar, juga mudahnya bertukar komunikasi yang melakukan interaksi lewat media online, media ini tidak terbatas oleh ruang dan waktu selama pengguna terhubung dengan konneksi internet. Dengan kemudahan media ini, Pengelola Pesantren memiliki inisiatif untuk membuat akun Instagram @alhasanymedia. Metode peneltian yang digunakan dengan pendekatan kualitatif lapangan, prosedur penelitian yang menghasilkan data deskriptif berupa perkataan lisan atau urutan kata yang tertulis dari orang-orang yang diamati dan pendekatan ini diarahkan pada latar individu secara holistis (utuh). Dalam penelitian kualitatif, penulis menjadi instrumen kunci (human instrument) yang berfungsi menetapkan fokus penelitian, mencari dan memilih informan sebagai sumber data, mengumpulkan data, menilai kualitas data, analisis data, menafsirkan data dan membuat kesimpulan atas hasil temuan. Adapun hasil penelitian ini bahwa akun Instgaram @alhasanymedia menjadikannya sebagai media yang memberikan kontribusi bagi pesantren sebagai lembaga pendidikan yang meliputi media dakwah, informasi, silaturrahmi, promosi, nostalgia, dan dokumentasi bagi pesantrem dan para alumni PonPes Al-Hasany Sumber, wali santri dan Abituren.

Abstract

This study aims to discuss Tiktok as a new media that is now developing and is in great demand by social media users. Islamic da'wah which also definitely needs the media in its activities cannot be separated from the problems surrounding the use of Tiktok as a medium. This study uses a qualitative approach through literature analysis methods related to the research topic. Literature analysis is carried out by collecting various libraries from books or books, journals and other relevant sources. The results of this study indicate that Islam in the perspective of fiqh does not curb the use of Tiktok as a propaganda medium, but Islam regulates with religious boundaries and references regarding what content is allowed in Islam for its use as a propaganda medium.

Abstract

This study reveals the da'wah of the Honda Club Indonesia (HCI) community in Mojokerto, which originally focused on motorcycle activities into a da'wah forum that provides benefits to the wider community. Through the application of social identity theory, the HCI Mojokerto community has succeeded in developing itself as a medium for da'wah and increasing the knowledge and understanding of members and the surrounding community. This research uses a qualitative approach with data collection methods through participant observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation of HCI Mojokerto community activities. The results showed that this community was able to utilize a common hobby, namely motorcycles, as a basis for providing da'wah value in every activity carried out. The HCI Mojokerto community actively carries out religious preaching-oriented activities, such as silaturahmi, social services, and religious pilgrimages. Through these activities, community members get to know each other, increase religious understanding, and strengthen social values. In addition, this community plays a role in empowering its members and the surrounding community through opportunities for self-development and contributions to social activities. The Honda Club Indonesia (HCI) community in Mojokerto being a forum for da'wah and community empowerment is a good example of the application of social identity theory. With a focus on da'wah and empowerment, the HCI Mojokerto community makes a positive contribution to strengthening religious and social values in the surrounding environment.

Abstract

Branding a public persona for a religious preacher in today's digital era is more accessible thanks to social media platforms such as Instagram. Personal branding is essential for boosting a preacher's credibility, which increases public trust. Therefore, this paper aims to reveal the implementation of personal branding for da'wa by a famous female celebrity preacher, Oki Setiana Dewi, who has been active in online da'wa for over a decade. Data for this paper were mainly obtained by documenting Oki Setiana Dewi's Instagram account (@okisetianadewi). The content analysis technique was applied to qualitatively and descriptively analyze the collected data. The findings of this research show that eight principles are actively used in da'wa personal branding: specialization, leadership, personality, difference, visibility, unity, firmness, and good name. Oki Setiana Dewi consistently displays various da'wa content in photos, videos, and written captions to build her image as a female preacher.

Abstract

This article discusses Max Weber's theory of social action and Emil Durkheim's theory of social facts in the introduction of local community traditions. This article aims to find the existence of Max Weber's social action theory and Emile Durkheim's social fact theory in the introduction of local community traditions. This research uses a qualitative approach, with the type of library research that uses descriptive-analytical data analysis techniques. The results of the discussion in this article are that when viewed from Max Weber's theory of social facts, namely traditional actions, affective actions and social actions, the introduction of traditions is based on habits that have been rooted for generations, then the introduction of traditions is carried out on the basis of feelings and emotions (unconscious). In addition, the introduction of tradition is carried out by someone based on conscious consideration and choice, so the aim is to introduce the region, usually this is done by government agencies. Meanwhile, based on Emile Durkhim's social action theory, namely material and non-material forms, in the introduction of tradition there must be a fact that can be seen directly or observed and the introduction of tradition is a form of expression of one's feelings towards the traditions that have prevailed.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis konstruksi media dalam melaporkan kampanye damai dengan menggunakan pendekatan Framing Model Robert N. Entman. Media yang menjadi objek penelitian adalah Detik.com, salah satu situs berita online terkemuka di Indonesia. Diskursus interdisiplinaritas penelitian ini, dengan melibatkan bidang-bidang seperti komunikasi massa, jurnalisme, framing, dan studi media. Pendekatan interdisipliner ini membantu dalam memberikan wawasan yang komprehensif dan multidimensional terhadap konstruksi media dan pengaruhnya dalam konteks kampanye damai. Dalam konteks kampanye damai, framing dapat memainkan peran penting dalam mengubah cara orang memandang konflik dan mencari solusi yang bermanfaat bagi semua pihak terlibat. Dengan pendekatan kualitatif metode penelitian deskriptif. Penelitian ini mengumpulkan data dengan cara dokumenter. Membaca dan memahami berita yang membahas tentang kampanye perdamaian. Analisis yang digunakan adalah analisis framing dengan model framing model Robert N. Entman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Detik.com menggunakan berbagai frame dalam melaporkan kampanye damai. Beberapa frame yang dominan digunakan adalah frame konflik, frame kekerasan, dan frame solidaritas. Penelitian ini juga menemukan bahwa framing media dapat mempengaruhi persepsi dan pemahaman pembaca tentang kampanye damai. Kontribusi penelitian ini yaitu memberikan pemahaman yang lebih mendalam tentang konstruksi media, sehingga dapat memberikan wawasan baru dalam studi komunikasi massa dan analisis media.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This article examines how the principles of Nahdlatul Ulama are related to the spirit of nationalism by analyzing the concept of the ukhuwah trilogy that was initiated by KH. Ahmad Siddiq, Jember. The ukhuwah trilogy consists of ukhuwah islamiyyah (to establish brotherhood with fellow Muslims), ukhuwah wathaniyyah (to establish brotherhood with fellow citizens), and ukhuwah basyariyyah (to establish brotherhood on the basis of fellow humans). The research method used in this research was qualitative descriptive analysis by utilizing primary and secondary literature sources. The analytical knife in this article borrowed Alvin L. Bertrand’s role theory, where the role of Kiai Achmad Shiddiq was so great in instilling brotherhood, nationalism or the spirit of nationalism in Indonesia without discriminating against culture, ethnicity, race, language, and even religion. The results of this study shows that the trilogy concept of ukhuwah is in accordance with Islamic principles, but is also important to be presented to the public in order to improve the quality of harmonious religion while instilling nationalism towards Indonesian Muslims. The prime goal is the common good. The benefit of this research is that it serves as an additional sub-material for academia (lecturers, students), religious leaders, and even the general public to further explore the excellent thoughts of an NU figure named KH. Ahmad Siddiq. ABSTRAK Artikel ini mengkaji tentang bagaimana prinsip Nahdlatul Ulama terkait semangat nasionalisme dengan menganalisis konsep trilogi ukhuwah yang dicetuskan oleh KH. Achmad Shiddiq, Jember. Trilogi ukhuwah terdiri dari ukhuwah islamiyyah (menjalin persaudaraan dengan sesama pemeluk Islam), ukhuwah wathaniyyah (menjalin persaudaraan dengan sesama anak bangsa), serta ukhuwah basyariyyah (menjalin persaudaraan atas dasar sesama manusia). Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitatif analisis deskriptif dengan memanfaatkan sumber literatur primer dan sekunder. Pisau analisis dalam artikel ini meminjam teori peran Alvin L. Bertrand, di mana peran Kiai Achmad Shiddiq begitu besar dalam menanamkan sikap persaudaraan, nasionalisme atau spirit kebangsaan di Indonesia tanpa membeda-bedakan budaya, suku, ras, bahasa, bahkan agama. Hasil penelitian ini yaitu konsep trilogi ukhuwah selain sesuai dengan prinsip Islam, namun juga penting untuk dimunculkan ke muka publik dalam rangka meningkatkan kualitas beragama yang harmonis sekaligus menanamkan sikap nasionalisme terhadap muslim Indonesia. Tujuan besarnya bermuara pada kemaslahatan bersama. Manfaat penelitian ini adalah sebagai tambahan sub materi bahan ajar dan belajar bagi para akademisi (dosen, mahasiswa), agamawan, bahkan masyarakat umum, untuk lebih lanjut menggali pemikiran KH. Abstract

The shift in preaching media in line with the development of information and communication technology demands media activists understand the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and challenges of preaching in the current digital era. Based on this, this study focuses on analyzing the situation of millennial preacher Habib Ja’far al-Hadar on the social media platform YouTube. This study uses a qualitative descriptive research approach with a digital ethnography approach. The research findings indicate that his strengths include being a Habib, having competent knowledge (credible scholarly certification), having good morals, being polite and humble, and, most importantly, being tech-savvy in the current digital era. His weaknesses include being relatively young, so his “wisdom” may still be considered lacking and not fully representing the Islamic sect he follows. Opportunities for his preaching include the many young people who need an “enjoyable” preaching style, the dominance of new media among millennials who are seeking their identity and God, and the scarcity of preachers who can bring the “mosque” to young people who find it challenging to step into the “mosque.” Finally, the threats to his preaching include the possibility of a negative image due to his association with “lost youths” with careless, liberal, or even atheist attitudes and unorthodox thinking.

Abstract

This article discusses the communication process of women and also their role in the Salaf Islamic boarding school environment. Women are part of the phenomenon of the boarding school community. In their daily lives, they are inseparable with various kinds of processes and the role of communication that goes through. In their daily life, women in the Salaf Islamic boarding school are classified as creatures whose scope of work is only in the domestic sector. Through an ethnographic approach, researchers conducted involved observations and also in-depth interviews with 6 informants chosen purposively. This study explains that the process of communication of women in Islamic boarding schools occurs persuasively, face-to-face and their role as housewives, teachers, and as children in the environment of the Salaf boarding school with a very limited scope.

Abstract

The construction of social reality in Indonesia is heavily influenced by the interplay between mass media and social media, reflecting the evolving dynamics of globalization and local culture. This study aims to explore how media platforms shape public perceptions, cultural identity, and social norms in the Indonesian context. Employing a qualitative case study approach, the research investigates how mass media and social media frame issues and construct meanings that resonate with societal values, traditions, and contemporary challenges. Data collection involved in-depth interviews with media practitioners and users, content analysis of mass and social media materials, and participatory observation of interactions within digital communities. Analytical frameworks included Berger and Luckmann's theory of social construction, media convergence theory, and framing analysis. The findings reveal that social media platforms, such as tiktok and Instagram, facilitate a participatory culture where users blend global and local narratives, creating a hybrid reality. This hybrid reality reflects the negotiation of traditional values with modern, globalized influences, particularly in shaping the identity of younger generations. In contrast, mass media frequently aligns its framing of social issues with political and economic interests, influencing public perceptions through selective narratives. Additionally, the use of language, religious symbols, and algorithms was found to reinforce social norms and stereotypes, illustrating the media’s role in shaping societal expectations and behaviors. The study concludes that the interaction between traditional and digital media plays a significant role in constructing Indonesia’s social reality. It highlights the necessity of critically understanding media influences to navigate the complexities of identity and social dynamics in an increasingly globalized world.
