Abstract

Science process skills are important to teach to students because they can create meaningful learning. To be able to create a learning environment that facilitates science process skills, learning must involve aspects contained in science process skills. However, in science school, student process skills still involve aspects of observation while other aspects such as classifying, predicting, and communicating are still not applied. So students are still not actively involved in science process skills. Efforts can be done by involving direct experience in the form of students' environmental attitudes. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to determine the relationship between environmental attitude and science process skills in elementary schools. This study used quantitative methods with a correlational approach. The sample of this study amounted to 36 students. Data collection is carried out through questionnaires, tests, and observations. The data were analyzed using a normality test, linearity test, and hypothesis test. The results of this study obtained a relationship between environmental attitude and science process skills in elementary schools. The relationship is quite strong, which means that the higher the students' environmental attitude towards environmental care and awareness, the higher the behavior and science process skills. Conversely, if students' environmental attitudes towards environmental care and environmental awareness are low, then behavior and science processing skills are also low.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) and Teams Games Tournament (TGT) learning models on the mathematics proficiency of fifth-grade students and their interaction with learning motivation. The background of this research is the low mathematics ability of Indonesian students, as reflected in PISA results, which remain below the global average. The research employed a 2x2 factorial experimental design involving 139 students grouped based on the learning model (RME or TGT) and motivation levels (high or low). The results showed that the RME model (average score 85.4) was more effective than the TGT model (average score 82.7). Moreover, students with high motivation achieved a higher average score of 88.1 compared to those with low motivation (average score 79.3). ANOVA tests revealed significant effects from the learning model (F=25.67, p<0.05), learning motivation (F=30.45, p<0.05), and their interaction (F=18.23, p<0.05). This study highlights the importance of innovative learning models like RME and TGT to improve mathematics learning outcomes. Its implications include recommendations for educators to integrate interactive and meaningful approaches that address diverse learning needs. It also encourages further research to develop innovative methods in primary education, particularly to enhance students' preparedness for future learning challenges.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model and learning motivation on students' critical thinking skills in Science subjects at the elementary school level. The research employs an experimental method with a 2x2 factorial design, involving 130 sixth-grade students from two elementary schools in Surabaya. The sample consists of an experimental class taught using the PBL model and a control class taught using the STAD model. Data were collected through validated critical thinking tests and learning motivation questionnaires. The average critical thinking score of students taught with PBL was 78.5, while students taught with STAD scored an average of 69.8. Hypothesis testing using two-way ANOVA showed an F-value of 15.72 for the effect of the learning model, which is greater than the F-table value of 3.92 at a 0.05 significance level. Additionally, students with high learning motivation scored an average of 81.3, compared to 67.2 for those with low motivation. Hypothesis testing indicated that students with high motivation demonstrated better critical thinking skills than those with low motivation (F-value 12.64 > F-table 3.92). A significant interaction between the learning model and motivation was also found (F-value 8.45). Theoretically, the findings support constructivist theory, which emphasizes the importance of problem-based learning in developing higher-order thinking skills. Teachers need to identify students' motivation levels to provide appropriate support. It is recommended that teachers participate in training to design and implement problem-based learning effectively.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the low ability of students to think creatively in the learning process. One effort to improve this ability is to apply an interesting and fun learning method, namely the technology-based gamification method. This research aims to determine the effect of applying the gamification method on students' creative thinking abilities in Pancasila Education lessons in class IV elementary school. This research uses a quantitative approach with an experimental type of research, using a one group pretest-posttest design. The research subjects were 28 students in class IV-B at SDN Sumur Welut III/440 Surabaya. Data was collected through pretest and posttest instruments to measure students' creative thinking abilities before and after being given treatment in the form of a gamification method. The research results showed that there was a significant increase in students' creative thinking abilities after implementing the technology-based gamification method. This proves that the gamification method is not only effective in creating a pleasant learning atmosphere, but is also able to encourage students to think more creatively in understanding Pancasila Education material. Thus, this method can be an innovative learning alternative to improve the quality of education, especially in developing students' creative thinking skills at the elementary school level.

Abstract

This international community service program was conducted from June 2 to 4, 2025, as a collaboration between lecturers from the Master of Primary Education program and lecturers from Maejo University, Thailand, at SD ICP Al Falah Darussalam 2, Tropodo, Waru, Sidoarjo. The theme of the program was Strengthening Teachers' Pedagogical Competence in the Digital Era. The activity aimed to enhance teachers’ pedagogical competence in responding to the challenges of the digital age. The methods employed included interactive training sessions, group discussions, and guided hands-on practice using digital technology. The results indicated a high level of participant enthusiasm, improved understanding of digital pedagogy, and increased motivation among teachers to integrate technology into their teaching practices. This initiative demonstrates that international collaboration can significantly strengthen local capacity in developing teacher competence for the digital era

Abstract

This research is motivated by the current pandemic conditions which require students to study from home. There are several factors that make students less attractive to study, namely, the students' lack of interest in learning which is getting higher and teaching materials that are less interesting in learning. This research uses the type of classroom action research or commonly known as the Kemmis and Mc. Taggart. The research was conducted in two cycles. The subjects of this study were second grade students of SDN Margorejo 1/403, totaling 29 students. Data collection techniques used are tests and observations. Meanwhile, the data collection instrument used a reading test using word cards and observation sheets. Data analysis technique using percentage. student learning outcomes, namely the average value of the class in the pre-cycle of 66.37 then in the first cycle to 72.24 and the second cycle to 80.51. The number of students who achieved KKM > 75 in the pre-cycle there were 11 students in the first cycle there were 20 students and in the second cycle there were 27 students. The percentage of completeness in the pre-cycle is 38%, the first cycle is 69% and the second cycle is 93.1%. So that in the second cycle, more than 80% of students reached the KKM > 75 criteria.

Abstract

The problem in this research is the low critical thinking ability of students and the lack of student activity in participating in learning. In learning the teacher still uses the conventional model and has not yet applied the appropriate learning model, especially for science learning. One suitable learning model is using the discovery learning model. The aim of this research is to find out whether there is an effect of discovery learning learning model on the critical thinking skills of fifth grade students on the subject of human respiratory organs at SDN Dr Sutomo V Surabaya. This research is included in a quasi-experimental research, a quasi-research is a study that provides treatment and measures the effects of treatment but does not use a random sample to conclude the changes caused by the treatment. The method used by this research is in the form of essay test questions.Based on the results of the analysis in this study, there is an influence of the discovery learning model on the critical thinking skills of the Human Breathing Organ material for the fifth grade students of SDN Dr Sutomo V Surabaya. This can be proven by using the t test formula. So it can be concluded that the discovery learning model affects the critical thinking skills of fifth grade students at SDN Dr Sutomo V Surabaya.

Abstract

This study developed the interactive multimedia "BAN" based on Articulate Storyline for teaching Ilmu Pengetahuan alalam dan Sosial (IPAS) on the topic of natural landscapes in elementary school students, specifically grade IV. The study aimed to test the feasibility of the product considering its effectiveness, practicality and validity. The research used a development model called ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). The subjects consisted of 25 Grade IV students from SDN Kertajaya IV/210 Surabaya. Validation results showed the material validity at 91.11% and media validity at 91.42%. Practicality was measured through teacher surveys (92%) and student surveys (93.20%). The analysis of student learning completeness obtained a percentage of 88% with a very good category. The paired t-test results obtained a Sig. value of 0.00, indicating that the Sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.00 < 0.05, which shows that the students' learning outcomes differ significantly from the pretest and posttest data. Multimedia "BAN" can attract students' attention and make them focus on the lesson. Multimedia can also enhance the quality of learning, as evidenced by the improvement in students' learning outcomes.

Abstract

This research stems from the fact that students' critical thinking skills are still relatively low. This condition is evident during learning activities, where many students struggle to think critically. The objective of this study is to assess how effectively the Creative Problem Solving (CPS) method enhances students' ability to analyze and interpret the meaning of each Pancasila precept. The research was conducted using a quasi-experimental approach with a Post-test Only design. The findings indicate that, based on the normality test, the data from the experimental group did not follow a normal distribution, while the control group's data did. Additionally, the homogeneity test revealed that the variance between the two groups was not uniform. Given these results from the classical assumption test—where one group had non-normally distributed data and the other showed unequal variance—the study proceeded with the Mann-Whitney test. The analysis using this test produced a significance level of 0.000, which is below the 0.05 threshold. Consequently, the findings confirm that the CPS method plays a role in enhancing students' critical thinking skills.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah multimedia interaktif berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan kolaborasi siswa pada pembelajaran Pancasila di sekolah dasar. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain nonequivalent control group design. Partisipan penelitian adalah kelas IV dengan jumlah responden siswa sebanyak 40 orang. Analisis data menggunakan uji Independent Sample T-test dengan tingkat signifikansi. Analisis data pada penelitian ini menggunakan aplikasi SPSS versi 21. Berdasarkan hasil uji Independent Sample t-test menunjukkan bahwa h0 ditolak dan ha diterima. Jadi dapat disimpulkan terdapat pengaruh multimedia interaktif terhadap kemampuan kolaborasi siswa pada pendidikan Pancasila di sekolah dasar.
