Abstract

Character values are very important for students at the school level, especially for young children. One method that can be used to implement character education is storytelling. Therefore, this research was conducted with the aim of understanding how to build character and what strategies can be used to develop the character of children aged 5-6 years through storytelling using storybooks at KB Getsemani. This research employed a qualitative descriptive method, with data collected through interviews with classroom teachers, the principal, and parents. In addition to interviews, observations and documentation were also carried out to gather data. The analysis technique involved data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Based on the research on building character education through storytelling for children aged 5-6 years at KB Getsemani, the results show that teachers have implemented storytelling methods along with certain steps. These steps were then evaluated using a rubric for assessing the implementation of storytelling in class. The results showed that 93% of the process aligned with the assessment guidelines. Moreover, the strategy used, namely the empirical learning strategy, also successfully influenced the children to remember and connect the activities with stories of goodness because it was done creatively and was not boring. From these results, it can be concluded that the application of the storytelling method and the use of empirical learning strategies succeeded in developing the character of children aged 5-6 years at KB Getsemani.

Abstract

The implementation of learning in the Pelita play group has 13 students and among them there are 6 children who cannot speak clearly, this can be seen when the child is asked to convey or express his feelings, but when holding a smartphone the child shows his interest. Aiming to find out the learning video media can improve the language of early childhood aged 3-4 years in the Pelita playgroup and find out the strategy of learning video media in improving the language of early childhood aged 3-4 years in the Pelita playgroup. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach method with data collection through observation, interviews and documentation. Activities to improve children's language development are stimulated by a variety of varied media but researchers choose to take learning video media as a medium that can improve early childhood language skills. The process of activities carried out to improve the language development of early childhood aged 3-4 years in the Pelita play group experiences the stages of the process of improvement well. In providing activities using learning video media during learning, children's language skills began to increase every meeting by 81%.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to advocate for Quality ECD Management and Services in Samarinda City. Furthermore, through this PKM activity PAUD educators are expected to understand that quality PAUD is determined by the quality of services, the quality of the learning process and the quality of management of PAUD units (PP SNP no. 57 of 2021). In other words, quality ECD is an integral part of holistic integrative learning services so that they can implement more effective learning in developing aspects and skills of AUD development in ECD units as well as motivating children to be more enthusiastic in learning activities. Therefore. It must be understood that educators and education personnel are the foundation of quality ECD. The capacity and welfare of PTK needs to be a concern so that the four elements of quality PAUD can be realized. The methods used in this PKM consist of various methods, namely lectures, active discussions, FGDs, DARING and simulations on the application of LURING Quality ECD Management and Services. The level of understanding of the concept of the Four Elements of service program in PAUD is quite adequate as seen when given a kind of summative test, and the average participant gets a score of 78 on a scale of 100. In the future, it is still necessary to monitor the application of these Quality ECD Management and Service to make this PKM activity more effective.

Abstract

Currently, the government continues to encourage PAUD institutions to apply for accreditation. Several institutions in Penajam District, North Paser Regency, and East Kalimantan have not submitted on the grounds that (1) Teachers are still unfamiliar with the use of technology related to uploading documents in the system, (2) Teachers experience confusion related to providing the types of documents for each accreditation item, (3) Teacher incomprehension of the document format for each accreditation item. This community service activity was carried out in collaboration with the East Kalimantan Nahdlatul Ulama University together with the National Accreditation Board for PAUD and PNF Kaltim located in North Penajam Paser Regency and the participants consisted of supervisors and supervisors as well as heads of PAUD and PNF units who in their implementation combined theory and practice of filling out the SISPENA application. The aim is to help achieve the level of achievement of the quota for PAUD and PNF units that will participate in accreditation. The result was a common perception about accreditation, understanding of accreditation documents, and PAUD units were ready to upload documents to SISPENA
