Abstract

This research aims to evaluate the implementation of the TNI's Social Communication policy in addressing radicalism in the Kodam III/Siliwangi area, focusing on the effectiveness of the programme, available resources, as well as obstacles and solutions encountered in its implementation. The research was conducted using a case study approach. Data collection techniques were carried out through interviews with informants, namely the Assistant Kasdam III/Siliwangi Cq. Operations Assistant and Territorial Assistant, Bakesbangpol Linmas of West Java Province, Regional Office of the Ministry of Religion and Ministry of Law and Human Rights of West Java Province. This research reveals that the implementation of TNI social communication faces challenges in overcoming radicalism, including a lack of understanding of the mechanisms of radicalism and a lack of participation in deradicalisation initiatives initiated by BNPT. Other factors affecting policy implementation are resource considerations such as personnel, equipment, and financial resources. Improving the capability of local command structures and coordination with relevant partners is required to successfully tackle radicalism. Comprehensive awareness of local culture and the creation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) involving all relevant parties in the regions are also important to improve the effective identification and prevention of radicalism.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the potential of urban farming as a catalyst for diverse food security in densely populated areas, with a specific focus on Sukun Village, Malang City. The research seeks to identify how urban agriculture not only increases local food availability but also functions as an instrument for community empowerment through commercialization schemes. Sukun Village was selected due to its demographic density and existing urban farming initiatives, which provide a relevant context for studying these dynamics. Using a qualitative approach grounded in case study methodology, this study collected data through in-depth interviews with 15 key stakeholders, participatory observations at local farming sites, and analysis of policy documents and activity records related to urban farming at Rumah Alam Jaya. This approach ensures a comprehensive understanding of urban farming activities and their socio-economic impacts. The findings indicate that urban farming contributes to micro-food security by providing a consistent supply of fresh produce while fostering social solidarity and increasing household incomes. Specific examples include cooperative farming models and revenue streams from agrotourism activities. Furthermore, this study highlights the integration of urban farming with educational tourism as a strategic innovation to enhance the economic sustainability and attractiveness of urban agriculture. Practically, the results offer actionable insights for policymakers and practitioners aiming to support diverse and sustainable local food security through urban agricultural innovation. By strategically combining empowerment schemes with educational tourism, urban farming can be a viable solution to address food security challenges in urban areas. This research strengthens the literature on micro-food security and provides a replicable framework for integrating urban farming into community empowerment initiatives.

Abstract

This article aims to highlight the performance of the Smart Kampung application and website in Ketapang Village, Banyuwangi Regency, as well as to understand the extent to which digital technology can improve the efficiency of public services and empower village communities. This evaluation of the Smart Kampung web application uses a qualitative content analysis approach, which involves collecting and analyzing textual and visual data from the Smart Kampung platform. Data sources include descriptive text, usage guides, user reviews, and visual content such as images and video tutorials. The findings in this article are that the Smart Village program has succeeded in integrating various public services into one digital platform that residents can access easily. This platform facilitates access to population administration, health, and education services and empowers the local economy through online marketing training and developing MSMEs. Analysis of user feedback shows that although the community generally receives the platform well, several areas still require improvement to increase user satisfaction. This article will help explain the use of technology at the village level and practical recommendations for optimizing the previous Smart Village platform. Apart from that, these findings can also guide other villages that want to adopt similar programs so that the benefits of digital technology can be felt more widely throughout rural areas in Indonesia. Abstract

Using recycled garbage craft activities, this study investigates how a Children's Forum in Pandanlandung Village affects the social development and environmental consciousness of children aged 4 to 17. Using direct observation, participant and facilitator interviews, and recording of produced works, data were gathered using a descriptive and qualitative approach. Children's social skills—including cooperation, communication, and empathy—which result from their involvement in practical recycling projects show significant increases. Apart from teaching youngsters on proper trash management and the need of environmental preservation, the activities promoted social connection, particularly after the COVID-19 outbreak. Children who turned trash into art developed agency, self-esteem, and responsibility toward their environment and society. This project shows how creatively minded educational programs could improve children's complete development and foster a sustainable culture. These results emphasize the need of similar programs in different settings and their ability to empower teenagers as active agents of change in building better, environmentally conscious communities.
