Abstract

Based on data from the WHO, in 2013 there were 1.3 million people suffering from fractures due to traffic accidents. The purpose of the study was to determine the effect of giving active ROM on the level of basic ADL ability in postoperative lower extremity fracture patients with ORIF action at RSUDZA Banda Aceh in 2018. The research design used in this study was Quasi Experiment with Static Group Comparison, Sampling in this study conducted by purposive sampling technique totaling 20 respondents. Data was collected using the basic ADL observation sheet. The results showed that the basic ADL ability scores in the intervention group were mostly in the mild dependency category, as much as 60%, while in the control group many were in the moderate dependency category, as much as 40%. Basic ADL in postoperative lower extremity fracture patients with ORIF action in Raudhah 6 and Raudhah 7 RSUDZA Banda Aceh (p = 0.008) which means Ha is accepted and H0 is rejected. The importance of doing active ROM for postoperative lower extremity fracture patients with ORIF action to help the healing process. It is hoped that nurses will provide an explanation of active ROM exercises as a permanent activity in an effort to prevent loss of body function abilities.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), in 2010-2015 hernia patients reached nearly 20 million cases and there were 20 million cases of inguinal hernia surgery every year. In Indonesia, it is estimated that there are 300 thousand cases. Based on data obtained from the HCU Room at RSUD Dr. Zainoel Abidin Banda Aceh, from January 2020 to April 2021, there were 14 cases. The purpose of this study was to determine the implementation of nursing care for Mrs. T with postoperative inguinal hernia in the HCU Room of Dr. Zainoel Abidin Hospital Banda Aceh in 2021. In compiling this case study the author uses a descriptive method with a nursing process approach which includes assessment, nursing diagnoses, nursing planning, implementation and evaluation. The results of nursing care were obtained after 3x24 hours the client's pain complaints decreased from a scale of 6 to 4, respiratory status was 18 x/m, daily activities were still assisted. Based on the results of the final evaluation, it was concluded that Mrs. T's problem was partially resolved for the diagnosis of acute pain and activity intolerance. As for the ineffective breathing pattern, the problem is resolved. The suggestions given are expected to improve communication and obtain more accurate data, so that nursing care can be carried out appropriately.

Abstract

A fracture is a break in the continuity of the bone, bone tissue, or cartilage which is generally caused by force. The operative treatment in fracture cases is Open Reduction Internal Fixation (ORIF). Patients after ORIF installation often have psychological problems. One of them is self-concept, namely body image, self-identity, self-ideal, and self-esteem. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between self-concept and body image in ORIF patients at Meuraxa Hospital Banda Aceh, the relationship between self-esteem and body image in ORIF patients, the relationship between self-identity and body image in ORIF patients, the relationship between self-role and body image in ORIF patients. This study uses the Chi-Square correlation method with = 0.05. The results of this study showed that P-value = 0.000 <0.05 so the Ho hypothesis was rejected, meaning that there was a significant relationship between self-concept and body image in ORIF patients at Meuraxa Hospital Banda Aceh.

Abstract

Background: Early detection of child growth and development plays a crucial role in ensuring children's readiness for formal education and preventing delays in intervention during the golden period of development. The reality in urban-rural transition areas shows that implementation is suboptimal due to low parental participation, limited teacher competency, and the limited availability of tested standardized instruments. Purpose: To describe the implementation of early childhood growth and development screening at Bungong Jaroe Kindergarten, Aceh Besar, and to identify factors related to the effectiveness of the screening. Methods: This descriptive research used a case study approach. The study population consisted of all children aged 4–6 years, teachers, parents, and PAUD administrators at Bungong Jaroe Kindergarten. Sampling used purposive sampling, including 20 children, 20 parents, 6 teachers, and 3 PAUD administrators, with inclusion criteria: children aged 4–6 years enrolled at Bungong Jaroe Kindergarten, teachers teaching for at least 1 year, and parents willing to be interviewed. Data collection was conducted through semi-structured interviews, observations, and document reviews. The screening instruments used included the Child Development Card (KKA) and the Developmental Pre-Screening Questionnaire (KPSP), which had previously been tested for validity and reliability. Data were analyzed using thematic analysis. Results: Implementation of growth and development screening at Bungong Jaroe Kindergarten is suboptimal, reflected in low parental participation only 50%, minimal teacher training, and limited use of standardized instruments. Children's nutritional status indicates a double burden of malnutrition, with 10% undernourished and 35% at risk of overnutrition. Factors related to screening effectiveness include teacher competence, parental awareness, instrument availability, and institutional support. Conclusion: Early detection of child growth and development at Bungong Jaroe Kindergarten remains limited. Strengthening teacher capacity, increasing parent participation, and developing an integrated monitoring system are needed to improve screening effectiveness.
