Abstract

The ability to understand mathematics is a basic ability that must be improved because there are still many students who have low understanding abilities. Kahoot learning media can improve students' mathematical understanding abilities according to the material and student characteristics. The purpose of this study is to determine the success of applying Kahoot media in improving the ability to understand mathematics in integer material for junior high school students. The method used in this research is quantitative. The data collection technique comes from the results of a description test of 4 questions regarding students' mathematical understanding abilities in integer material. Quantitative data analysis techniques were processed using descriptive and inferential statistics using Microsoft Excel and SPSS applications. This research was conducted on students at one of the MTs in West Bandung class VII as many as 22 students. The results showed that there was an increase in students' mathematical understanding abilities as indicated by the learning outcomes and student responses after the learning process took place. Students can develop their mathematical understanding skills with the help of this Kahoot media. This increase can be proven by the increase in students' pre-test and post-test results as evidenced by the calculation of the n-gain value. The results of the n-gain calculation show that the increase in students is 0.83 in the high category. This means that the application of kahoot media is successful in increasing students' mathematical understanding of integer material.

Abstract

Essay test questions in mathematics learning at Vocational High Schools show that most students have difficulty answering questions about quadratic equations, this is the basis of the research. The reason this problem can occur is because students are not careful in interpreting questions so students cannot master inductive indicators. The purpose of this study is to find out more about students' mistakes when answering questions about mathematics through analysis and description of some of the students' mistakes in answering questions about quadratic equations, therefore this study uses a descriptive method with a qualitative approach. The research subjects were students of class XI Software Engineering at a Vocational High School in Kabupaten Bandung Barat with a total of 15 students. The stages in this research are planning, implementation, and reporting. Student test results as many as three questions are used to collect data. The analysis technique used is data reduction, by presenting the data then conclusions are drawn. The results and discussion of this study showed that students made mistakes in answering quadratic equation questions. The accuracy of students towards questions number 1 and number 3 is still low, so it is necessary to do regular exercises. Students' mathematical reasoning abilities need to be honed again. It can be seen from the results of the answers to question 2 that students have not been able to interpret the questions so that inductive indicators on students' mathematical reasoning abilities have not been fulfilled.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to find out how well class VIII students of SMP were able to solve math problems on SPLDV material. The approach used was descriptive-qualitative, where in this study students were asked to take a problem-solving ability test with a minimum score limit of 10 and a maximum of 30 points, and the test instrument consisted of four essay questions that had been prepared. Ready. tested for high validity, high reliability, high differentiability. good, and moderate difficulty. for the research data analysis process the researcher used excel 2019, by dividing the scores obtained by students with the maximum score then multiplied by 100%. The research was conducted on 14 class VIII students of junior high schools in Bandung Regency who took part in this research. The mathematical problem-solving abilities of class VIII students are identifying elements that are known, asked, and the suitability of the elements needed in the very low category, formulating mathematical problems or formulating mathematical models in the low category, applying everyday problem-solving strategies in the high category, and Explain or interpret the results according to the initial problem in the very high category.

Abstract

This research is an experiment which aims to examine improving the mathematical communication skills and interest in learning of junior high school students in set material by implementing the reciprocal teaching learning model. The problem behind this research is that students' mathematical communication skills and interest in learning in set material are still in the low category, so learning alternatives are needed that can develop students' mathematical communication skills and interest in learning. The research method used is Pre-Experimental with a one group pretest-posttest research design. The population in this study were all class VII students in one of the private junior high schools in Karawang Regency. The sample in this research was 25 students with a purposive sampling technique. The instrument used is a communication skills test and a non-test in the form of a learning interest questionnaire. Based on the analysis of the data obtained, it shows that students' mathematical communication skills after implementing the reciprocal teaching model are better, namely from 8.32 to 75.32 and students' interest in studying set material after using the reciprocal teaching model is 60% in the low interest category and 40% with the high category which was previously 32% in the very low category and 68% in the low interest category. Thus, it can be concluded that the application of the reciprocal teaching model can improve the mathematical communication skills and interest in learning of class VII SMP students in set material, although not optimally.

Abstract

While mathematics is immensely imperative and regarded as a fundamental subject serving as one of the graduation requirements at every level of education in Indonesia, including vocational schools, adverse perceptions associated with it as a challenging subject are deeply ingrained in society, particularly among students. Despite there is a wealth of research exploring math anxiety and elf-regulated learning, a discernible gap exists in the literature, specifically within the Indonesian context, particularly among Vocational Students in the Bandung area. This research aims to explore the predictive relationship between math anxiety and students' self-regulated learning within the context of vocational education. Employing linear regression statistical analysis, and survey data collection method, this quantitative study involved 99 participants from two vocational schools in Bandung Regency. The results indicate a statistically significant impact of math anxiety on students' self-regulated learning. However, it's noteworthy that the degree of correlation is considered low. Furthermore, no significant differences were identified concerning variables such as age, sex, streaming, and class level. These findings contribute to the understanding of the dynamics between math anxiety and self-regulated learning, particularly within the context of vocational education in the Bandung region, and can serve as a valuable insight for future research in similar topics.

Abstract

In the current digital era, the implementation of blended online learning faces challenges in understanding students' perceptions and its impact on learning outcomes, particularly in Abstract Algebra. This issue is crucial to investigate, as the shift in teaching methods can influence the comprehension of complex algebraic concepts. This research aims to investigate students' perceptions and learning outcomes in abstract algebra courses of blended and asynchronous online learning. The research method used was quasi-experiment. The subject of 27 students is available without being randomly selected. Research instruments using questionnaires and tests. The test consists of eight essay questions. The questionnaire includes 27 closed-ended questions and six open-ended questions. The results showed that students perceived Abstract Algebra subjects as difficult or very difficult. Most students needed help to study the module due to material difficulty thoroughly. In addition, asynchronous online learning is ineffective compared to blended online learning. All students wanted the tutorial asynchronous and synchronous combined (blended online learning). Most students carry out online learning at home using a smartphone device. Students who use blended online learning obtain significantly higher learning outcomes than students who only take it asynchronously.

Abstract

Kemampuan Pemecahan Masalah Matematis (KPMM) adalah keterampilan esensial yang perlu dimiliki dan dikuasai siswa, terutama dalam menyelesaikan masalah sehari-hari namun realitas di lapangan menunjukkan kemampuan memecahkan masalah masih rendah. Dalam mendukung peningkatan KPMM, maka diperlukan bahan ajar yang membantu siswa untuk belajar secara aktif dan tidak menimbulkan perasaan bosan pada diri siswa ketika siswa mempelajari matematika di sekolah. Tujuan penelitian ini  mengembangkan bahan ajar menggunakan pendekatan berbasis masalah berbantuan geogebra. Design Research adalah metode yang dipergunakan pada  penelitian ini. Penelitian ini terbagi menjadi dua bagian, yaitu desain perencanaan dan desain evaluasi formatif. Subjek pada penelitian adalah  38 siswa SMK  Gema Karya Bahana di Kota Bekasi Kelas X.  Alat yang digunakan dalam pengumpulan data berupa  skala sikap, wawancara, dokumentasi dan uji coba soal. Pengolahan data menggunakan cara kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Kesimpulan pada penelitian ini adalah  bahan ajar menggunakan pendekatan berbasis masalah berbantuan geogebra sangat valid, praktis dan sangat efektif dalam meningkatkan KPMM terutama dalam materi Program Linear, sehingga bahan ajar menggunakan pendekatan berbasis masalah berbantuan geogebra dapat dipergunakan sebagai alternatif  dalam meningkatkan KPMM siswa

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menganalisis (1) implementasi pembelajaran materi bangun ruang sisi datar menggunakan model matematika Knisley dan aplikasi Geometryx, (2) respon siswa terhadap pembelajaran materi bangun ruang sisi datar menggunakan model matematika Knisley dan aplikasi Geometryx. Metode dalam penelitian ini menggunakan deskriptif kualitatif, dengan subjek siswa kelas VIII yang berjumlah 22 siswa pada salah satu SMP di Cililin Bandung Barat. Instrument yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini berupa skala respon siswa berjumlah 28 butir. Berdasarkan hasil  penelitian diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa implementasi pembelajaran materi Bangun Ruang Sisi Datar (BRSD) menggunakan model matematika Knisley dan aplikasi Geometryx telah sesuai dengan tahapan model matematika Knisley yang terdiri dari kongkrit-reflektif, kongkrit-aktif, abstrak-reflektif dan abstrak-aktif. Selanjutnya untuk rata-rata skala respon siswa menunjukan persentase 82,1 % sehingga termasuk kriteria baik. Hal ini menandakan pembelajaran materi BRSD menggunakan model matematika Knisley dan aplikasi Geometryx dipandang memberi kesan bermakna bagi siswa, karena pembelajarannya yang terstruktur dan melatih daya kritis. Adapun yang mendapat persentase terbesar adalah indikator “ ketertarikan dan pendapat siswa pada pembelajaran materi BRSD dengan menggunakan bantuan aplikasi Geometryx” dengan persentase 88,3% sehingga termasuk kriteria sangat baik. Hasil tersebut menunjukan bahwa penggunaan media pembelajaran aplikasi Geometryx dapat membantu siswa menumbuhkan motivasi, ketertarikan dan minat belajar yang tinggi pada konsep matematika, khususnya BRSD.Kata Kunci: Bangun Ruang Sisi Datar, Geometryx, Model Matematika Knisley.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to design Student Worksheets (LKPD) using the discovery learning model to enable students to understand the material being studied. This research uses a design research method with three stages, namely design design, design implementation, and retrospective analysis. The instruments used in this research are LKPD design and summative tests, data analysis uses retrospective analysis by describing the results of research instruments that have been carried out by students. Design planning starts from determining goals and competencies, selecting teaching materials, creating LKPD model discovery learning, consulting with lecturers and design improvements. The application of the design is carried out during learning activities. LKPD analysis shows good things, students are able to follow and complete the learning process using LKPD, in the summative test students are able to answer the questions given with good data and steps, plus the results of learning reflection show students are happy and easily understand the concept of the material using the LKPD so that the LKPD model of discovery learning has a big role in understanding of concepts

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan berpikir kreatif matematis siswa melalui penggunaan media Tangram. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif deskriptif, dengan subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas IV SDN Cibodas 1 Cimahi.  Teknik pengumpulan data diperoleh dari hasil observasi, wawancara, dokumentasi, mengutip penelitian terdahulu tentang media Tangram, serta hasil instrumen penilaian proyek individu. Proyek individu yang diberikan yaitu implementasi kemampuan kreatifitas geometris sesuai dengan konsep dasar dalam mengenal bentuk bangun datar. Hasil deskripsi menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan berpikir kreatif memiliki 4 indikator yaitu kecepatan, keluwesan, keaslian, dan kemampuan mengolaborasi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dan pembahasan penulis dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan media Tangram terhadap berpikir kreatif siswa pada materi bangun datar kelas IV SDN Cibodas 1 Cimahi dapat dikatakan efektif. Hal tersebut ditunjukkan pada aktivitas belajar siswa yang mampu memenuhi keseluruhan dari 4 indikator dalam berpikir kreatif. Selain itu, siswa mampu menyelesaikan media Tangram dengan tepat dan cepat untuk menyusun potongan-potongan Tangram sehingga menjadi suatu objek yang diinginkan.
