Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between the intensity of playing online games and student learning outcomes in science subjects in grade VIII at SMP Negeri 18 Model Palu. This type of research uses quantitative research with correlation analysis. The sample of this study is class VIII which totals 105 students. The data collection technique in this study is a questionnaire. The results of this study showed that  the intensity of playing online games obtained in the medium category was 65 students (61.90%), the high category was 27 students (25.71%), and the low category was 13 students (12.38%). The number of hours used in one play was obtained more than 5 hours by 32 students (55.17%), up to 3 hours by 18 students (31.03%), and up to 1 hour by 8 students (13.79%). The results of bivariate analysis, it showed a correlation coefficient (Spearman's rho) of 0.106, there was a positive but very weak relationship between the intensity of playing online games and student learning outcomes. With a significance of 0.282, because it is 0.282>0.05, it is concluded that there is no significant relationship between the intensity of playing online games and student learning outcomes in science subjects in grade VIII at SMP Negeri 18 Model Palu.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relationship between diet and physical activity with the nutritional status of students of SMP Negeri 19 Palu. This study used a cross sectional design with a quantitative approach and analytic observational type. The subjects were 77 students of class VIII (aged 13-15 years) who were selected using simple random sampling technique. Data were collected using FFQ (Food frequency Questionnaire) to assess diet and APARQ (Adolescent physical Activity Recall Questionnaire) for physical activity, both validated instruments from previous studies. As well as anthropometric measurements (height and weight) using the Body Mass Index (BMI) to determine nutritional status. The results of the analysis using the chi-square test showed that there was a significant relationship between diet and nutritional status (χ²(3) = 8.772; p = 0.032), and between physical activity and nutritional status (χ²(4) = 9.919; p = 0.042) Respondents with a good diet and moderate to vigorous physical activity tended to have normal nutritional status, while poor diet and light physical activity were more common among students with abnormal nutritional status. These findings suggest that diet and physical activity play an important role in determining the nutritional status of adolescents. The implications of this study emphasize the importance of educational intervention programs in the school environment to support healthy lifestyles and prevent nutritional problems among students.

Abstract

Metacognitive knowledge refers to what is known about memory function and the strengths and weaknesses of one's own cognition. This research aims to describe the influence of the problem-based learning model on the metacognitive knowledge and learning outcomes of class IX junior high school students. The research was carried out on Class IX students of Palu City Middle School, the entire population of Class IX consisted of three classes with a total of 45 students. Two classes were used as samples determined based on purposive sampling. Metacognitive knowledge data was obtained through questionnaires and learning outcome data through essay and multiple choice tests. Data analysis used an independent t-test with the help of SPPS version 25.0. The results showed that metacognitive knowledge with conventional learning was significantly lower than the PBL class with a gain of t(25) = 9.289, p < 0.000 and learning outcomes in the conventional class were significantly lower than the PBL class with a gain of t(25) = 4.520, p < 0.000. The conclusion of this research is that there is an influence of the problem-based learning model on the metacognitive knowledge and learning outcomes of class IX SMP students

Abstract

Indonesia sebagai Negara ke tiga dengan angka prevalensi stunting tertinggi di Asia dengan prevelensi 24,4%. Salah satu upaya yang dilakukan untuk mengurangi dan mencegah stunting dengan cara meningkatkan asupan gizi bagi keluarga. Peningkatan tersebut dapat dilakukan dengan mengkonsumsi sayur dan buah. Masyarakat dapat memanfaatkan lahan pekarangan rumah untuk meningkatkan gizi keluarga. Kegiatan program pengabidan kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pengetahuan dan keterampilan kepada masyarakat mengenai dampak stunting dan cara mengelolah tanaman TOGA di pekarangan rumah. Program pengabdian ini dilakukan selama 3 bulan. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan di RT 19 Desa Wintu Kelurahan Layana Indah Kota Palu Sulawesi Tengah. Tahapan pertama persiapan, pelaksana kegiatan dan pasca kegiatan. Saat penyuluhan, peserta aktif bertanya terkait materi yang disampaikan. Semua peserta terlihat antusias mengikuti kegiatan penyuluhan dengan aktif dalam diskusi. Kegiatan ini mendapatkan dukungan dari Kepala Kelurahan, Ketua RW, Ketua RT 19 dan masyarakat. Diakhir acara, tim pengabdi dan peserta kegiatan berikrar untuk melakukan pencegahan stunting. Pemanfaatan lahan pekarangan dengan cara menanam berbagai macam tanaman sayur dan buah-buahan. Kegiatan pengabdian diakhiri dengan kunjungan tim penyuluh ke lapangan/kebun percontohan yang digarap bersama masyarakat. Selain itu, dilakukan pembagian berbagai macam bibit tanaman kepada seluruh masyarakat yang diperoleh dari Dinas Perkebunan Kota Palu. Pengabdian masyarakat ini perlu dilakukan secara rutin untuk meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat terkait tumbuh kembang anak sehingga bias mencegah terjadinya stunting.
