Abstract

Background: The large number of bullying cases that occur every year causes anxiety and becomes the focus of attention of society and the government. The aim of the research was to determine the relationship between peer social support and bullying behavior among adolescents in MA. Ma'arif NU Sidomukti Gresik. Method: This research uses quantitative methods with a cross sectional approach. A population of 80 teenagers, 67 samples were studied using random sampling techniques. The instruments used in this research were the Social Provisions Scale (SPS) and OBQ questionnaires using the chi-square test. Results: The research results showed that the majority of students had high peer social support, 43 (64.2%). Half of the students did not behave bullying, 39 (58.2%). Based on the results of the chi-square test, it is proven that the p-value of 0.490 is above 0.05 (0.490>0.05. Conclusion: There is no relationship between peer social support and bullying behavior in MA. Ma'arif NU Sidomukti Gresik. Even though there is no relationship, the school and teachers should still monitor the activities carried out by students who do not take any problems lightly and follow up on these problems so that bullying behavior does not occur. Abstract

New students must adapt to a new environment because of the differences in the nature of education in Senior High School (SMA) and college. If students are unable to meet the demands in college, it can cause stress. One of the therapeutic activities that aims to improve and maintain mental health in students is Self Help Group (SHG) therapy . The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of Self Help Group (SHG) on stress levels in new students of the Nursing Study Program at the University of Muhammadiyah Gresik. This study uses a one group pretest-posttest approach. The population is 48 new students of the Nursing Study Program, Muhammadiyah University of Gresik, class of 2023. The sampling technique uses total sampling , with the research sample being all new students of the Nursing Study Program. Data collection uses questionnaires and Self Help Group (SHG) therapy observation sheets. Data analysis uses the parametric statistical test of the paired T-test (Paired Sample T-Test). The results of the study on stress levels before being given Self Help Group (SHG) therapy were that almost half of the students experienced severe stress as many as 21 (48.8%) and after being given Self Help Group (SHG) therapy, almost half of them experienced a decrease in severe stress levels in new students as many as 16 (37.2%) students. The results of the Paired Sample T-Test statistical test obtained a ρ value of 0.038 <α 0.05. There is an influence of Self Help Group (SHG) on stress levels in new students of the Nursing Science Study Program, Muhammadiyah University of Gresik.

Abstract

New students need to adapt to a new environment because of the differences between high school and university education. One therapeutic therapy to maintain mental or emotional health is the Self Help Group (SHG). The purpose of this research is to determine the effect of self help groups (SHG) on the self-esteem of new students of the Nursing Science Study Program, Muhammadiyah University of Gresik. This research uses a One Group PreTest – PostTest design. The population of this study were 43 new students of the Nursing Science Study Program at Muhammadiyah University of Gresik using the Total Sampling sampling technique. Researchers used Self Help Group therapy as the independent variable and self-esteem as the dependent variable. The instruments in this research used the RSES questionnaire and observation sheets. Statistical tests using Mc Nemar, research results before being given self-help group (SHG) therapy showed that almost all students had high self-esteem, 37 (86%) and after being given self-help group therapy, all students had high self-esteem, 43 (100%) . The Mc Nemar statistical test results obtained p = 0.031 so p < a 0.05. So it is known that there is an influence of the Self Help Group on the self-esteem of new students of the Nursing Science Study Program, Muhammadiyah University of Gresik, so it is hoped that this therapy can be applied at the University.

Abstract

Pendahuluan: Perbandingan sosial merupakan perilaku yang sering terjadi pada remaja yang cenderung membandingkan dirinya dengan orang lain, berdasarkan status sosial, status ekonomi, kecantikan, ciri kepribadian, kemampuan, pendapat, reaksi emosi, dan sebagainya. Kecenderungan melakukan perbandingan sosial yang dilakukan remaja lebih besar ketika mengevaluasi dirinya sendiri yang dapat menimbulkan ketidakpuasan terhadap dirinya sendiri dan menimbulkan dampak negatif maupun positif, sehingga dapat menimbulkan rasa frustrasi hingga depresi. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan antara perbandingan sosial dengan depresi pada remaja usia 12-24 tahun di Desa Suci Kecamatan Manyar Gresik. Metode: Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif dengan pendekatan cross-sectional. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah 73 orang remaja dan sampel yang digunakan sebanyak 62 orang remaja dengan menggunakan teknik simple random sampling. Uji statistik menggunakan Spearman Rank. Hasil: Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tingkat perbandingan sosial pada remaja tergolong kategori sedang sebanyak 44 orang (71%). Pada kejadian depresi pada remaja tergolong kategori ringan sebanyak 40 orang (64,5%). Nilai signifikansi korelasi antara perbandingan sosial dengan depresi pada remaja diperoleh dengan nilai p = 0,464 ≥ α (0,05). Kesimpulan: Tidak terdapat korelasi antara perbandingan sosial dengan depresi pada remaja usia 12-24 tahun di Desa Suci, Kecamatan Manyar, Gresik. Introduction: Social comparison is a behavior that often occurs in adolescents who tend to compare themselves with others, based on social status, economic status, beauty, personality traits, abilities, opinions, emotional reactions, and so on. The tendency to make a social comparison that adolescents are greater when they evaluate themselves which can cause dissatisfaction with themselves and cause negative and positive effects, so which can cause frustration to depression. The purpose of this research was to know the correlation between social comparison and depression in adolescents aged 12-24 years in Suci Village, Manyar District, Gresik. Method: The type of research used is quantitative with a cross-sectional approach. The population was 73 teenagers and the sample used was 62 teenagers using simple random sampling technique. Statistical tests used the Spearman Rank. Results: The research results showed that the level of social comparison in adolescents classified as medium category with as many as 44 people (71%). In the incidence of depression in adolescents is classified as a mild category for as many as 40 people (64.5%). The significance value of the correlation between social comparison and depression in adolescents was obtained by p-value = 0.464 ≥ α (0.05). Conclusion: There is no correlation between social comparison and depression in adolescents aged 12-24 years in Suci Village, Manyar District, Gresik.

Abstract

Anak usia sekolah adalah anak-anak yang berusia 6-12 tahun di mana mereka sudah dapat bereaksi langsung secara intelektual atau dapat melaksanakan tugas belajar yang menuntut kemampuan intelektual dan kognitif, seperti membaca, menulis dan menghitung. Kehidupan sekolah adalah bagian penting dalam hidup anak-anak yang dapat memberikan dampak secara langsung pada fisik dan mentalnya. Lingkungan fisik sekolah ini tentunya akan banyak permasalahan yang muncul salah satunya adalah cedera fisik seperti memar yang diakibatkan karena tidak terstandarnya lingkungan fisik di sekolah. First Aid merupakan salah satu prosedur perawatan atau pertolongan pertama yang dilakukan pada cedera atau luka sebelum diberikan bantuan medis atau profesional. First Aid merupakan langkah awal yang sangat penting sebagai intervensi cepat dan efektif untuk mengurangi dampak serta meningkatkan peluang untuk bertahan hidup pada kasus kejadian cedera. First Aid ini memerlukan pemahaman terkait prosedur yang tepat untuk meminimalisir terjadinya kesalahan pada anak sekolah. Sasaran kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah siswa-siswi sekolah dasar kelas 4-6 sebanyak 50 orang. Kegiatan ini dilakukan mulai dari tahap koordinasi dengan pihak sekolah, menyusun jadwal kegiatan dan tahap implementasi pemberian edukasi first aid dan praktik pertolongan pertama pada kasus cedera memar. Kegiatan dilakukan di ruang kelas UPT SDN 24 Gresik. Sebelum diberikan edukasi first aid, siswa-siswi diberikan pre-test terkait first aid dan didapatkan hasil tingkat pengetahuan kurang sebanyak 29 orang (58%) dan pengetahuan cukup 15 orang (30%). Setelah diberikan edukasi first aid didapatkan sebanyak 19 orang (38%) memiliki tingkat pengetahuan baik dan masih ada yang memiliki pengetahuan cukup sebanyak 20 orang (40%). Diharapkan pihak sekolah dapat membuat kegiatan secara berkala bagi para siswa untuk bisa menjadi layperson pada kasus cedera memar yang terjadi di lingkungan sekolah.

Abstract

Bullying adalah segala bentuk penindasan ataupun kekerasan yang dilakukan secara sengaja oleh seorang individu atau kelompok terhadap orang lain yang lebih lemah dengan tujuan untuk menyakiti dan dilakukan secara terus menerus. Bullying masalah sosial yang semakin mendapatkan perhatian serius, terutama di lingkungan pendidikan tingkat Sekolah Dasar (SD), bullying sering terjadi dalam berbagai bentuk, seperti fisik, verbal, dan sosial. Berdasarkan data Komisi Perlindungan Anak Indonesia (KPAI) terdapat 3.800 kasus perundungan di Indonesia sepanjang 2023. Kasus bullying disekolah berkaitan erat dengan pengetahuan serta ketrampilan guru dalam menangani perilaku bullying. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pengetahuan dan ketrampilan pada civitas akademika di SD Muhammadiyah 3 Gresik mengenai jenis – jenis bullying dan bagaiamana mencegah dan mengatasi bullying yang terjadi di sekolah. Pada akhir kegiatan dapat dilihat guru, staf beserta perwakilan wali murid menunjukkan sikap yang positif dengan mengajukan pertanyaan dan berbagai pengalamanya semoga melalui kegiatan ini dapat civitas akademika SD Muhammadiyah 3 Gresik dapat menciptakan suasana yang kondusif bagi seluruh siswa.

Abstract

"Baby blues syndrome" refers to the symptoms of postpartum depression experienced by new mothers. The severity of postpartum depression is often exacerbated by the absence of a loving and supportive partner. The purpose of this study was to determine The Relationship between Husband Support and Coping with the Occurrence of Baby Blues Syndrome in Postpartum Mothers in Pangkahwetan Village, Ujung Pangkah Sub-district. The research method used was quantitative research with a cross-sectional approach.  From a total population of 35 people, 33 participants were randomly selected using basic random sampling procedures. Statistical analysis was conducted using the Chi-Square test. The results of the study found a significant relationship between the coping ability of postpartum mothers and the frequency of baby blues, as well as the support provided by the husband. The Chi-Square test showed a significant association with a threshold of 0.007 < 0.05 for husband support. The p-value for coping ability was 0.033, which was above the significance level of 0.05, indicating a less strong correlation in this area. In conclusion, this study highlighted the important role of husband support in reducing postpartum depressive symptoms. However, the coping abilities of postpartum women showed a weaker correlation with the frequency of baby blues. Future studies should consider a larger sample size and include qualitative methods to gain deeper insights into the emotional and psychological experiences of new mothers. Baby blues syndrome” describes the postpartum depression symptoms experienced by mothers. Postpartum depression is getting worse when there is no loving and supportive partner. The researchers in this cross-sectional quantitative study aimed to learn more about the experiences of new mothers facing sadness after giving birth in Pangkahwetan Village, Ujung Pangkah Sub-district. There were 35 people became the population of this research, and 33 people were selected randomly using basic random sampling procedures for this study. Statistical analysis used the Chi-Square test. According to this research, women’s coping abilities after giving birth and the frequency of baby blues were correlated, as was the presence of the husband’s support. The Chi-Square test measured the husband’s acceptance, with a significance threshold of 0.007 < 0.05. The coping p-value of 0.033 was greater than the significance level of 0.05.

Abstract

Introduction: Multi Drug Resistant Tuberculosis (MDR-TB) sufferers experience decreased lung function. Non-pharmacological therapy such as slow deep breathing has been widely applied to improve lung function of individuals with Tuberculosis. However, the results were inconsistant. The aim of this research is to analyze the effect of slow deep breathing on lung function pf individuals with multi-drug resistant (MDR-TB) at the MDR-TB Polyclinic Ibnu Sina General Hospital Gresik, Indonesia. Method: This study employed a quasi-experimental design with a pre-test and post-test. The population consisted of 294. A total of 35 participants were selected using purposive sampling based on inclusion and exclusion criteria. Data collection involved a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP)-guided intervention in slow deep breathing exercises as the independent variable. Lung function, the dependent variable, was measured using a calibrated spirometry device before and after the intervention. An accidental sampling method was applied, focusing on the availability and willing to participate. Results: The results showed of 19 (54.3%) and almost half of participants had abnormal lung function, 16 (45.7%) people. After being given intervention, the majority of particupants presented normal lung function, 21 (65.7%) of them and almost half of them had abnormal lung function, 12 (34.3%) of them. Mc Nemar test to determine the effect of slow deep breathing on lung function was p-value of 0.125 > 0.05. Conclusion: This study documented that slow deep breathing exercises had no significant effect on lung function in individuals with MDR-TB. This likely attributable to other contributing factors, such as routine pharmacological treatment, consistent physical activity, and improved adherence to therapy. These confounding variables may have played a more substantial role in the observed changes. Further research with rigorous experimental designs, involved larger sample sizes, and longer duration of intervention is needed.

Abstract

Siswa Sekolah Dasar (SD) merupakan kelompok yang berisiko tinggi terhadap kejadian cedera yang memiliki dampak ringan hingga fatal. Cedera yang terjadi membutuhkan penanganan yang tepat, keterlambatan dalam pemberian pertolongan bisa berakibat fatal dan mengakibatkan komplikasi. Dalam melakukan pertolongan pertama, diperlukan pengetahuan dan efikasi diri yang baik sehingga mengurangi tingkat kesakitan. Tujuan penelitian adalah menganalisis pengaruh edukasi first aid terhadap tingkat pengetahuan dan efikasi diri layperson. Penelitian ini adalah Pre Eksperimental dengan pendekatan One Grup Pre Test-Post Test. Populasi penelitian ini 185 siswa. sampel penelitian ini yaitu 53 siswa kelas 5 dan 6 dengan teknik purposive sampling. Teknik pengambilan data dengan memberikan edukasi first aid dan kuesioner tingkat pengetahuan serta efikasi diri. Analisa data menggunakan Uji Wilcoxon. Tingkat pengetahuan sebelum diberikan edukasi first aid sebanyak 30 (56,6%) cukup. Tingkat pengetahuan sesudah diberikan edukasi first aid sebanyak 47 (88,7%) baik. Efikasi diri sebelum edukasi first aid sebanyak 27 (50,9%) tinggi. Efikasi diri sesudah edukasi first aid sebanyak 48 (90,6%) tinggi. Hasil uji wilcoxon didapatkan p value 0,000 < 0,05. Ada pengaruh edukasi first aid terhadap tingkat pengetahuan dan efikasi diri layperson di Mi. Ma’arif Sidomukti. Saran bagi sekolah untuk mengadakan pelatihan first aid secara berkala bagi siswa dalam melakukan pertolongan pertama pada kasus cedera.

Abstract

Saat ini dunia masuk dalam masa transisi pandemi Corona Virus Diseases-19 (Covid-19), tak terkecuali Negara Indonesia. Semua negara saat ini memasuki masa adaptasi kebiasaan baru, aktivitas belajar dan mengajar di beberapa sekolah, kampus dan tempat kursus mulai aktif kembali. Sehingga dalam hal ini diperlukan kesiapan dan adaptasi kembali untuk menghadapinya. Adaptasi perlu dilakukan untuk menghindari munculnya masalah-masalah psikososial, khususnya pada remaja. Untuk dapat beradaptasi dengan baik remaja perlu mendapatkan dukungan sosial dari orang tua, teman sebaya dan guru yang ada disekolah sehingga terbentuk resiliensi agar remaja terhindar dari tingkah laku maladaptif. Sasaran kegiatan pengabdian adalah remaja usia 10-18 tahun, sebanyak 29 orang. Kegiatan dilakukan mulai dari tahap penyuluhan yaitu ceramah dan diskusi tentang dukungan sosial remaja dan resiliensi. Kegiatan dilakukan di lab. Komputer SMP Sunan Giri Menganti, Gresik. Sebelum penyuluhan dilakukan pre test tingkat pengetahuan didapatkan sebanyak 72,4% siswa dengan tingkat pengetahuan cukup. Setelah dilakukan penyuluhan didapatkan sebanyak 58,5% siswa dengan tingkat pengetahuan baik. Diharapkan kegiatan pengabdian ini dapat menambah pengetahuan siswa-siswi terkait dukungan sosial yang bisa meningkatkan resiliensi sehingga bisa menghindari perilaku maladaptif. Guru konseling juga bisa mendampingi siswa-siswi untuk bisa beradaptasi dengan kondisi kebiasaan baru pada masa pandemi covid-19. Kata kunci: Dukungan sosial remaja dan Resiliensi
