Abstract

Utilization of the potential that exists in tourist attractions aims to increase the savings in expenses that must be borne by the community to manage tourism. The beach is a place that is rich and abundant in wind potential that can be used to drive wind turbines. To take advantage of the existing wind potential, of course, we must know how the wind potential is in the form of wind speed and locations that have wind speed potential and how to use it as energy to drive wind turbines. To obtain the potential of wind energy and utilize it, wind speed measurements are carried out using a digital anemometer and recorded for some time. The position of the measuring instrument installed must be protected from wind obstacles so that it is installed as high as 20 meters above the ground in an open position against the direction of the incoming wind. From the measurement results over a period of one day, the wind speed varies and changes at any time and the maximum value is 6 m/s during the day starting at 10:00 to 04:00. The wind speed profile obtained is analyzed and the type of turbine is determined according to the low wind speed below 10 m/s. From the analysis results, the appropriate turbine is the Savonius VAWT type and can produce electrical energy of approximately 2.43 Watts with a diameter of 0.11 m. The use of turbines for wind at low speeds will still have the potential to generate small-scale electrical energy for communities in coastal areas

Abstract

The world's supply of fossil energy is currently decreasing, and in time it will be scarce, while the human need for energy continues to increase. Solar cells that utilize solar energy are a source of renewable electrical energy (EBT). The burden of electricity bills at the Fajrul Iman Patumbak Modern Islamic Boarding School, Deli Serdang Regency is quite a burden on Islamic boarding school expenses. To reduce the burden of spending on electricity bills at Islamic boarding schools, solar cells and control equipment are installed so that they can generate electricity. After this service is carried out, the cost of spending on Islamic boarding schools has decreased. From this decrease, other Islamic boarding schools who know about this program are excited to utilize solar cells as a source of electric power. In the end, this program became a pilot for Islamic boarding schools that used EBT. All of these hopes can be seen in the dedication video that has been broadcast on the YouTube channel.

Abstract

Partial discharge adalah gejala yang terjadi pada isolasi tegangan tinggi yang mengawali terjadinya kerusakan pada bahan isolasi. Kerusakan itu adalah breakdown atau tembu slistik pada bahan isolasi. Partial discharge di dalam bahan isolasi terjadi disebabkan adanya rongga udara atau cavity yang mempunyai kekuatan dielektrik yang berbeda dengan isolasi. Pada tulisan ini bahan isolasi yang terdiri dari kertas berbahan komposit dan non-komposit diberikan tekanan mekanik yang bertujuan menekan cavity dalam bahan dielektrik untuk melihat perubahan inception voltage partial discharge pada setiap kenaikan tekanan yang diberikan kepada bahan isolasi yang diuji. Bahan yang diuji pada penelitian ini adalah jenis kertas Letroid dengan ketebalan 0,2 mm dan 0,5 mm. Setiap perubahan tekanan memiliki nilai inception voltage yang berbeda-beda dan menjadi karakteristik baru bagi bahan dielektrik yang diuji.

Abstract

Tulisan ini mencari peluang energy potensial dari angina dengan modifikasi penggerak turbin dengan struktur yang berbeda. Modifikasi turbin yang dibuat untuk menghasilkan energy listrik pada generator kecil. Penggunaan turbin yang dimodifikasi agar memperoleh putaran yang tinggi pada saat kecepatan angina yang terbatas. Dengan menggunakan turbin angin jenis icewind ukuran diameter 60 cm menghasilkan putaran pada generator. Metode yang digunakan dengan elakukan desain turbin angin savonius jenis icewind dibuat menggunakan plat metal dengan diameter 60 cm dan tinggi 50 cm. turbin dihubungkan dengan generator mini permanen magnet pada kecepatan angin yang bervariasi di menggunakan simulasi angin blower/wind tunnel. Massa turbin yang dibuat disesuaikan dengan besar kapasitas generator yang digunakan agar tetap dapat diperoleh kecepatan rpm yang tinggi dan tegangan keluaran yang dapat dipergunakan ke beban. Dari penelitian diperoleh tegangan keluaran generator 2 sampai 28 volt. Tegangan dihasilkan dari kecepatan angin sampai 14 m/s dan putaran turbin 442 rpm. Penggunaan modifikasi turbin savonius jenis icewind dapat dipergunakan memutar generator dan menghasilkan energy listrik pada berbagai tingkat kecepatan angin.

Abstract

Design and Construction of Microcontroller Based Tubers Slicing and Frying Machine ATmega 8535, this machine is expected to help the production of processed chips. In making this tuber chips machine, there are three processes that will be carried out including the cutting process, the drying process, and the frying process. This system uses an ATmega 8535 microcontroller which functions to control this tool to work according to the program that has been made. For the cutting process is done semi-automatically with a cutting knife driven by a 1 phase induction motor. In the process of drying tubers, a dryer is used, which functions to dry the sliced tubers so that when frying the sliced tubers do not accumulate because they are wet.

Abstract

Utilization of new, renewable energy (EBT) resources is the most important field in developing countries like Indonesia. The development of effective methods for evaluating alternative energy sources in the automotive industry has always been a need for cost-effective design analysis and one of the viable energy sources is electrical energy. Electric Vehicles (EV) are the application of photovoltaic energy using a combination of a charge controller based on a battery charging strategy with a unidirectional PWM technique based on a grid to vehicle strategy in the Smart Grid. Energy supplies in the world are currently decreasing, especially the energy used to generate electricity. With the widespread use of electric vehicles (EVs), it is important to plan charging by considering the behavior of EV drivers and demand on the electricity grid. Because the average solar insolation value in Indonesia is quite high, this can minimize dependence on the electricity grid and maximize the use of solar energy for energy storage systems for electric vehicles.

Abstract

The use of smart control systems is now very clear and its current use is very broad which is driven by current technological advances. In this paper, we describe the ink protection system on printer machines where d is a means of controlling the ink level where an alarm system is created which is expected in the future. can support the performance needs of printing machines on a large scale. The input given is in the form of an analog quantity and the output produced by the sensor is issued in the form of a Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) quantity which is connected to the printer pump via a pipe to pump ink from the ink tube. Currently, many pump machines have automatic settings to determine the viscosity of the ink liquid. The pump referred to here is a pump that uses air pressure as a power source, especially for printing machines, this pump plays a very important role in pumping ink from outside and into the machine automatically, so in this way the operator on the machine no longer moves ink with the risk that the ink could hit the operator. or worst of all, the ink can spill and damage the printing machine's working system.

Abstract

This study presents a comparative analysis of prepaid and postpaid kilowatt-hour (KWH) meters in improving the accuracy of electricity consumption measurement among customers of the PT PLN Customer Service Unit (ULP) in Langsa City. The study aims to determine whether prepaid KWH meters, which require users to pay for electricity prior to consumption, provide billing and usage monitoring accuracy comparable to traditional postpaid systems, where payments are made after electricity consumption based on meter readings. The methodology used involves a detailed examination of meter readings from two different groups of consumers over a one-month period, coupled with an assessment of the impact of meter type on consumer payment behaviour and incidents of electricity theft. The results indicate significant differences in the accuracy of electricity consumption measurement between the two meter types, with prepaid meters demonstrating a potential for reducing electricity theft and improving consumer energy management through upfront payment mechanisms. In addition, the study examines the technical and psychological factors that influence consumers' energy consumption patterns, highlighting how prepaid meters can encourage more controlled and conscious use of electricity. This analysis provides valuable insights for utilities considering the implementation of prepaid systems to improve billing accuracy, reduce operating costs and promote sustainable energy consumption behaviours among consumers.

Abstract

Mini hydro power plants (PLTM) are capable of producing electricity continuously for 24 hours. The amount of energy distributed by the Mini Hydro Power Plant (PLTM) is greatly influenced by the strong flow of water coming from upstream, so the effect of rainfall is relatively direct on the electricity produced by the Karo Bumi Energi Mini Hydro Power Plant (PLTM) with a capacity of 2 x 4, 85 MW. From the observations, rainfall is a dry month, it can also be seen that rainfall, water discharge and production are directly proportional. In May, June and July there is a very significant difference between production and water discharge. According to observations, these months are wet months with very high rainfall. The resulting productivity of hydropower plants is influenced by the creation and release of stable water without aggravation. The higher the creation and release of water, the higher the efficiency of the power supplied. The impact of high rainfall will cause the water release to reach 11,653m3 / hour

Abstract

The large number of disturbances that occur at the feeders result in power outages, which have an impact on reducing the reliability of the electricity system. One of the faults that occurred in the PT. PLN (Persero) ULP Medan Timur is a broken cable/wire cross section on a medium voltage overhead line (SUTM) or a damaged component of a medium voltage overhead line (SUTM). As a result, the energy (kWh) produced by the generator cannot be distributed, resulting in significant losses for PLN and losses for consumers. Therefore, the step taken to prevent this failure is to carry out preventive maintenance on the feeder. From the results of preventive maintenance obtained in this research, it was found that SAIDI = 0.1057 hours/customer/year, SAIFI = 0.0528 times/customer/year, CAIDI = 2.001 hours/time CAIFI = 0. 4995 hrs/hour, ASAI = 0.9997, ASUI = 0.0002, while from the results of corrective maintenance it was found that SAIDI = 0.4414 hrs/customer/year, SAIFI = 0.2643 hrs/customer/year, CAIDI = 1.67 hrs/time. CAIFI = 0.5987 times/hour, ASAI = 0.9990, ASUI = 0.0009. Thus, comparing the results of the calculation of the overall reliability value on the GU.03 feeder after preventive maintenance in 2022 in PT. PLN (Persero) ULP Medan Timur work area SAIDI = 0.0211 hours/customer/year, SAIFI = 0.2643 times/customer/year, CAIDI = 0.7983 hours/time, CAIFI = 12.526 times/hour, ASAI = 0.99995, ASUI = 0.00004.
