Abstract

Implants are used for various reasons, such as replacing damaged tissue caused by disease or trauma, as filler and support the healing phase. The general terminology of biocompatibility describes a condition which will not cause harmful interaction between foreign material and the body. Biocompatibility is a system  including physical, chemical, biological, medical, and design aspects. This study is focused on the influence of the coating thickness of hidroxyapatite layer on the rate of oxidation. Pure titanium  coated by HA with thickness variation needs to be tested for oxidation resistance to determine the  coating effectiveness in reducing the rate of oxidation. The rate of oxidation  measured by weight loss method after coated titanium by HA and than heating in a heat furnance. HA coatings obtained by a process of electrophoretic deposition (EPD) with  variation of time between  5 to 35 minutes at a voltage of 40 V with fineness of 30 µm. The oxidation process was done during the sintering process in a heat furnace for 10 minutes. The result of this study shows that the increase of time EPD increases the thickness of HA layer. Oxidation resistance on CPTi after HA coating does not cause the quality of pure titanium degraded in addition,  the oxidation resistance of HA increases from good grade to excellent grade. It shows that the formation of surface oxide slows down during sintering process.

Abstract

Training and socialization of Occupational Safety and Health at PT. PLN (Persero) Teluk Sirih Generation Implementation Unit UIK SBS Bungus Padang District is a community service from the PKM PNP team. This training aims to provide education to employees of PT. PLN (Persero) Teluk Sirih Generation Implementation Unit, UIK SBS, Bungus District to always use occupational safety and health (K3) in the implementation of work. In the field there are still many workers or employees who do not heed the rules of work safety, such as not using safety shoes, helmets, gloves when needed, masks when needed, and even working at a height above 2 (two) meters must use a Body Harness. Employees' disobedience to K3 to maintain work safety will cause problems such as work accidents that still occur as a lot, because in cultivating the company's K3 rules, starting from the Top Management in the department. K3 culture must be applied properly to maintain work stability in the field by providing education through training and socialization of Occupational Safety and Health at PT. PLN (Persero) Teluk Sirih Generation Implementation Unit UIK SBS Bungus Padang District is expected to provide a clear understanding and good education on the understanding of K3 in the industrial world, especially PT. PLN. The method applied to this service provides training and socialization to staff, employees and stake holders of PT. PLN and aims to familiarize the 5S Work Attitude culture, as we know Seiri, Seiton, Seiso, Sheiketsu and Shitsuke. This training helped increase the understanding and awareness of the workforce of PT. PLN (Persero) Teluk Sirih Generation Implementation Unit UIK SBS on K3 culture and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) for workers when doing work. It is hoped that later when the participants work, they will apply K3 to avoid work accidents.

Abstract

Estimated Expansion Joint made in the fabrication workshop of PT. Semen Padang is one of the connection equipment used in kilns to support cement production in cement factories. The estimation is carried out by Expansion Joint analysis of the wear of the plate material by calculating the stretch of the plate used. The purpose of this estimate is to find out how much material is used, how long it takes, and how much equipment is used when making expansion joints and to calculate the estimation of the expansion joint welding process. After doing the calculations to determine the specifications of the expansion joint to be installed, From the results of the analysis and calculations, it is known that the processing time is 33.05 hours, the total electrode used is 6.587 kg, and the welding time is 1474,433 minutes, or 24.58 hours.

Abstract

Limbah di sekitar seperti Tithonia diversifolia, Sabut kelapa dan Bongkol Pisang di Jorong Tapi Balai merupakan limbah pertanian yang selalu melimpah di setiap waktu. Bahan ini belum termanfaatkan secara baik oleh masyarakat, terutama pada Jorong Tapi Balai teletak di Nagari Padang Sibusuak Kabupaten Sijunjung, Sumatera Barat. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk memotivasi dan transfer teknologi pada masyarakat sekitar, Ibu PKK dan perangkat Desa, masyarakat sekitar Jorong Tapi Balai, Nagari Padang Sibusuk, Pada kegiatan ini telah dilakukan pelatihan pembuatan Pupuk Organik Cair (POC)  dari bahan Tithonia diversifolia, Sabut kelapa dan Bongkol Pisang  yang dicampur dengan EM4, gula merah dan air sumur kemudian dibiarkan beberapa hari kemudian disaring dan dimasukkan kedalam botol. Metode pada program pengabdian ini ada 2 tahap yaitu 1).Tahapan sosialisasi, 2) Tahapan Pendampingan. Program Pengabdian pada Masyarakat ini dapat meningkatkan kerampilan  dan pengetahuan masyarakat tentang pembuatan Pupuk Organk Cair (POC) dari limbah sekitar. yang digunakan untuk pupuk tanaman sehingga meningkatkan perekonomian msayarakat. Kata kunci : Tithonia diversifolia, Sabut kelapa,  Bongkol Pisang, EM4, Ibu PKK

Abstract

Sistem informasi merupakan sebuah wadah yang efektif dan praktis dalam menyebarkan informasi, literasi dan modul pembelajaran terutama di sektor pendidikan. Hal ini dapat dilihat pada pencarian internet mengenai literasi di bidang teknik mesin maka banyak sekali informasi yang ditampilkan, namun informasi ini kebanyakan hanya berdasarkan asumsi tanpa dilakukan pengujian secara ilmiah, tentu hal ini dapat menyesatkan para siswa dan guru dalam mencari literasi dibidang teknik mesin. Perancangan sistem informasi MGMP SMK teknik mesin kota Padang berupaya menciptakan sebuah sitem informasi terpusat yang kredibel, sesuai standar bahan ajar, dan sesuai hasil pengujian ilmiah untuk seluruh anggota  MGMP SMK teknik mesin sekota Padang. Tujuan pengabdian ini adalah merancang sebuah sistem informasi untuk MGMP SMK teknik mesin kota Padang serta  memberikan pelatihan bagaimana cara mengoperasikan sistem informasi MGMP berbasis website dengan menggunakan metode sosialisasi dan demonstrasi langsung kepada anggota MGMP SMK teknik mesin sekota Padang yang dilakukan di SMKN 1 Sumbar. Hasil pengabdian ini berjalan dengan baik hal ini dibuktikan dengan hasil evaluasi angket yang dilakukan yaitu hampir 100% peserta sosialisasi menyatakan SS (Sangat Setuju) dan jumlah trafik  website pada bulan pertama sebayak  90 tampilan dan 59 pengunjung

Abstract

This research aims to determine the market potential and business opportunities for wall decorations made of metal with CNC laser in the industry by determining the market size, evaluating competition, determining product trends, and identifying business opportunities. The quality management method of Deming's Wheel or PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) is used to analyze the market potential and competition of metal wall decoration products in various marketplaces. The research results show that Shopee is the e-commerce platform that sells the most metal wall decorations in Indonesia. The sales of metal wall decorations on Shopee reached 17,830 units, followed by Lazada with 2,794 units and Tokopedia with 789 units. The most popular motif or design among consumers is the leaf motif, with a total sales of 14,600 units on Shopee. The average monthly sales on Shopee are quite high, where store A is able to sell 160 units of wall decoration. The factors that influence high sales are quick chat replies, high ratings, positive testimonials from customers, and having their own online store website. Having their own online store provides advantages for store owners, such as advertising.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the mechanical properties of nickel-based superalloys with variations in alloy chemical compositions using the Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA) method with the assistance of the pandas profiling library on Google Colab. In this study, data from 312 tensile tests of nickel-based superalloys were used as research samples, with alloy chemical compositions including carbon (C), manganese (Mn), silicon (Si), chromium (Cr), nickel (Ni), molybdenum (Mo), vanadium (V), nitrogen (N), niobium (Nb), cobalt (Co), tungsten (W), aluminum (Al), and titanium (Ti), as well as mechanical properties such as yield strength (YS), tensile strength (TS), and elongation (EL). The methodology used in this study was the EDA method with the assistance of the pandas profiling library on Google Colab, which enables the automatic creation of a dataset report, presenting information on various aspects such as data structure, descriptive statistics, correlation, distribution, and missing values. The results show that yield strength has a fairly high correlation with titanium (0.51), medium correlations with nickel (0.25), vanadium (0.2), and cobalt (0.2). Tensile strength in nickel-based superalloys has a fairly high correlation with yield strength (0.88), carbon (0.49), and cobalt (0.55), and medium correlations with titanium (0.25) and vanadium (0.25). Elongation in nickel-based superalloys has a negative and fairly high correlation with tensile strength (-0.62) and yield strength (-0.58). Some warnings for missing data and zero values in some variables were identified. These results indicate that the pandas profiling library can be used as a tool to analyze the data of mechanical properties of nickel-based superalloys quickly and easily, and provide clear information on data patterns, data structure, and correlation among data.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to analyze data and perform machine learning modeling to predict the energy efficiency rating of air conditioning (AC) units using a labeled AC dataset from the Directorate General of New, Renewable and Energy Conservation (EBTKE). The data consists of Power, Cooling Capacity, Efficiency, Annual Energy Consumption, and Electricity Cost. The data is visualized using box plots and linear regression to examine the relationship between the dependent variable (Rating) and the independent variables. The analysis shows that the Efficiency variable has the greatest impact on the Rating, with a linear regression coefficient value of 0.75. Then, the machine learning model using the decision tree method is tested using 5-fold K-fold validation. The evaluation results of the model show a mean absolute error (MAE) of 0.2, mean squared error (MSE) of 0.4, root mean squared error (RMSE) of 0.63, and accuracy of 0.9. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the machine learning model using the decision tree method can be used to predict the energy efficiency rating of AC units with a satisfactory level of accuracy. However, to improve the accuracy of the predictions, it is necessary to increase the amount of data used in the modeling.

Abstract

This study designs and compares optimal machine learning models to predict the mechanical properties of aluminum, including Yield Strength (YS) and Tensile Strength (TS), based on the percentage composition of aluminum's chemical elements. The machine learning modeling in this study has nine input variables consisting of aluminum chemical elements such as Al, Mg, Zn, Ti, Cu, Mn, Cr, Fe, Si, and two output or target variables consisting of YS and TS. Additionally, Heatmap correlation is used to observe the correlation between chemical elements and the mechanical properties of aluminum. Three machine learning algorithms, namely Decision Tree (DT), Random Forest (RF), and Artificial Neural Network (ANN), are compared in this study. The comparison of these algorithms shows that Random Forest (RF) outperforms the other algorithms in predicting YS with MAE of 11.44, RMSE of 14.282, and R value of 0.93. On the other hand, ANN performs better in predicting TS with MAE of 19.593, RMSE of 22.005, and R value of 0.947.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of differences in tire pressure on brake testing at the Unit Pelaksana Teknis Daerah (UPTD) Motor Vehicle Testing, Solok Regency, the implementation of this analysis is to find the efficiency and deviation of the braking force on the tool. Test Brake Tester as well as the condition and calibration of the Brake Tester optimally so that the results of the test equipment are accurate so as to reduce errors in the test results. This research was conducted at the Motor Vehicle Testing Building, Solok Regency, with this research it is expected to be able to find the effect of differences in tire pressure on the efficiency and storage of the braking force. From the analysis that has been carried out, it can be concluded that different tire pressures affect the efficiency and deviation of the braking force on the Brake Tester, so it is necessary to check the tires regularly and once a year calibration of the test equipment must be carried out correctly.
