Abstract

Communication is an essential thing in every situation and condition. A good communication is also needed in prostitution business. Bali is one of the most tourist destination in the world, that makes Bali’s economical growth is good enough. In another words many places in Bali is also become a place for prostitution practice. One of them is in Bung Tomo area, Desa Pemecutan Kaja, Denpasar Utara. A prostitution practice was held in Banjar Kusuma Jati, Bung Tomo the prostitution place would be camouflage as a coffee shop, or a food stall, and that’s all is different with another prostitution places. Behind the sex transaction, there were some interesting things like the technical that was used by the prostitutes to hire the costumers, they used the verbal and also non-verbal codes. In one food stall there were some sellers who would receive some codes from the costumers. Another special thing from this prostitution practice was the communication pattern which was used by the prostitutes to get their costumer. They used some codes were aimed to make the lobbying and negotiation between the prostitutes and the costumer will be not vulgar. Key Words: Communication pattern, codes, prostitutes, prostitution.

Abstract

ABSTRACT A Brand is not only used in marketing a product, but a brand is also used as a personality marketing for a political figure. Through this research, researchers want to see how I Nyoman Suwirta's Personal Branding as a political figure in the Klungkung Regional Election in 2018. This research is a qualitative study using Harold Lasswell's analytical method and elaborated through eight personal branding concepts from Peter Montoya. The resulst of this research that I Nyoman Suwirta has personal branding that is what it is, populist, visionary and prioritizing the public interest, as well as actively communicating through social media, and face to face with the community. That way the Klungkung community also actively participates in each Gema Santi program. Key words: Personal Branding. Regional Head Election 2018, and Political Figure.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Election on 2014 was a battle between politicians. Almost every politicians campaigning for themselves or their party to gain people’s vote. On the campaign period, we see a lot of political party’s campaign on television. Analysis shows that 62.3% beginner voters frequently exposed by political party commercial on television, but not all of them watch the whole commercial. 40.8% of the respondent did not watch the whole commercial from start to end. Even though the PDI Perjuangan commercial was the most viewed and interesting, it doesn’t make it the most remembered and liked commercial. Gerindra’s commercial was the most remembered and liked by the viewers. It was because of the commercial presents a politician with high popularity, it was PrabowoSubianto. Even though beginner voters’ perception to political commercial is on positive state and the exposure intensity is high, it doesn’t make voters choose those political party. Abstract

Benoa Bay Reclamation was emerging the pros and cons in the middle of Balinese life that bring out an action called Reclamation Refusal. It was a real form of society refusal to the huge project development that will be declared. Bog-Bog as one of the mass media in the form of caricature magazine; represented the phenomenon which already happened on its April 2016 edition. The purpose of this study is to determine the representation of the Benoa Bay Reclamation Refusal in caricature cover of Bog-Bog Bali Cartoon magazine on April 2016 edition. To achieve the aims, the research was conducted using semiotic analysis method proposed by Charles Sanders Peirce by qualitative research and constructivist paradigm. The result of this study was Bog-Bog Bali Cartoon magazine represented the reclamation refusal movement that based on Bali local genius concept called “Tri Hita Karana”. Parhyangan contained in caricatures of Balinese Women, Legong Dancers, pecalang caricature, Baris Dancers, and flute Players. Meanwhile, the Pawongan value was described on Made Bogler caricature and Traders caricature. Further, the Palemahan contained in, Excavator, water, Soil, Surfing Players, Sea Fish, , pigs and dogs caricature. Hence, Bog-Bog Bali Cartoon magazine demonstrates the caricature function as a medium of social criticism of ongoing government policy 51 since 2014 and Balinese people apprehension on the reclamation issues in Bali. Abstract

ABSTRACT The online media have many advantages in delivering news to audiences by directing public awareness to issues that are considered important through the agenda setting process. One aof the aissues that developed in the amass media was about the Partai Perindo support for the Anies-Sandi in the second round of the DKI Jakarta Governor Election in 2017. One of the online media reporting on Partai Perindo support for the Anies-Sandi was Sindonews.com online media. This research was aconducted to afind out the framing of the Partai Perindo support for the Anies-Sandi at Sindonews.com by analyzing the news that was published from March 9 to April 21, 2017. This aresearch was a aqualitative research using the framing analysis amethod of Zhongdang aPan and Gerald aM.Kosicki . The results of this astudy indicate that Sindonews.com is very much in favor of the interests of the media owner, Hary Tanoesoedibjo, who is also the Chair of the aParty in the production and distribution activities of reporting the Partai Perindo support for the Anies-Sandi in the second round of the DKI Jakarta Governor Election in 2017. In framing the news there are four fractions that the author finds. It is also seen in the setting agenda process that Sindonews.com forces the public to pay attention to issues regarding the Partai Perindo support to the Anies-Sandi so that it influences people's thinking to participate in choosing Anies-Sandi through words or sentences that are presented repeatedly. Abstract

ABSTRACT Through interpersonal communication, communicants can interact with others, and express themselves to others. In families, there are often differences of opinion or different ways of communicating between parents and children, and similarly with children who have parents of different religions. The purpose.of this study.aims to.find.out how to form. interpersonal communication between children with interfaith parents in Denpasar City. The analytical technique used in the study through several stages, namely the calculation of the average analysis techniques and conclusions. The.results.showed.that even though.there.were differences in. age and religion with their parents, it did not prevent children from their parents from being able to have an attitude of openness, empathy, freedom of expressing ideas between children and parents with different beliefs. Abstract

ABSTRACT The soap opera of “Siapa Takut Jatuh Cinta” which has aired on SCTV tv station successfully captivated the audience with a high rating on the first episode. This soap opera has violated the prevailing norms in Indonesia for several times. However, the rating still stays in the top position. In this research, the author wants to know how is the motive and the satisfaction of people who live in Denpasar City about the soap opera “Siapa Takut Jatuh Cinta”. The author use the theory of Uses and Gratifications to see what the audience want to the media. This research is conducted by measuring the motives and satisfaction of 348 respondents in Denpasar City aged 16-34 years using 4 indicators of Uses and Gratifications theory by Greenberg and Woods (1999), these are escape, social learning, social excitement, and habit. This research use descriptive quantitative methods. The sampling technique in this study is purposive sampling. The data in this research is obtained by spreading questionnaires using a Likert scale. The data analysis technique using at the average score of motive and satisfaction. The results showed that respondents aged 16-34 years in Denpasar do not get satisfaction after watching the soap opera. That thing is happened due to respondents watching the soap opera of “Siapa Takut Jatuh Cinta” only to seek entertainment and fill their spare time. If it viewed from the indicators in every aspect of the motives, there are several indicators of motives that are satisfied, such as indicators of avoiding family problems, indicators of having a friend, indicators of eliminating boredom in spare time and other indicators. Abstract

ABSTRACT The University of Indonesia and the National Narcotics Research Center conducted a research showing 27.32 percent of users in Indonesia were students. In Bali, 16-19 year olds involved in drug cases increased 73 percent. The object of this research is SMA PGRI 2 Denpasar. From the results of the BNN urine test, there were 2 students suspected of using illegal drugs. The method of this research is quantitative and uses descriptive statistics in analyzing data. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of the campaign to prevent drug use from the City of Denpasar on the social media Instagram on the attitude of high school students PGRI 2 Denpasar. The results of this research are quite effective, the results of the respondents' data processing do not all follow the Instagram account of BNN Kota Denpasar, but most know the Instagram account of BNN Kota Denpasar. Abstract

ABSTRACT Dance costume is a form of non-verbal communication in which there are symbols that have meaning in accordance with the purpose of the dance. This can be seen in one of the dance costumes in Bali, namely Jauk Manis Dance. In Jauk Manis Dance costume, there is a conclusion that there is non-verbal communication with the contents of cultural values ??conveyed through the symbols attached to it. This study aims to determine the meaning of communication contained in Jauk Manis Dance costume. Texts and costume symbols of Jauk Manis Dance were chosen as research objects because the symbols in Jauk Manis Dance costume contained meanings and values ??related to Balinese culture and beliefs. This research uses descriptive qualitative method and uses Roland Barthes Semiotics Theory. The results show that there are meanings and values ??behind the symbols attached to Jauk Manis Dance costume such as: cultural values, religious values ??and artistic values. Cultural value in which costume describes a particular group of people. Religious value in the choice of colors is a symbol of the strength of the Gods in the belief of Hinduism. Abstract

ABSTRACT Vlogs are a form of opinion video, and are the dominant video in YouTube that is as much as 40% of all video content types that exist on YouTube. The presence of vlog is quite welcomed by the people of Indonesia, as seen from the number of Indonesian YouTubers already have a vlog-based account. Vlogs are composed with various types of content. The use of a media is influenced by individual socio-psychological factor that is one of the motive. This study aims to find out what the motive and how the satisfaction of young people in the city of Denpasar in watching vlog. Denpasar city was choosen to be the subject of this research because Denpasar city is listed as the most widely used internet in the Province of Bali. The motive of consuming the media became the reference in this research is the motive proposed by Dennis McQuail. The theory that is used in this research is Uses and Gratifications Theory. This research uses descriptive quanitative method. Sampling technique in this research is a purposive sampling. Data were obtained by distributing questionnaires using Likert scale. The analytical technique used is descriptive statistics by looking at the mean score of motives and satisfaction. The results showed that there are two motives that can be satisfied in watching the vlog that is the motif of personal identity and integrity and social interaction. Motives that can not be satisfied in watching the vlog is the motive of information and the motive of entertainment. So the results of this research indicate that vlog can be said as an effective media because it can provide some satisfaction to the audience.
